I looked at the bottom-most post on this thread, and for a second I misread this as "the carnage would be fantastic." What is wrong with me? I think think the carriage could be a real possibility. Honestly, the new Hagrid mold could work for Madame Maxime, and there have been lots of Pegasus-like creatures lately, haven't there? My only concern is that both the ship and the carriage have so little screen time, not to mention we just got the Thestral carriage. I'd much rather get something like Harry and Cedric in the set coming out this June, and then a Bricktober set with Fleur, Krum, Maxime, and Karkaroff. I really don't see a problem with potential future Bricktober sets. Yes, the distribution was atrocious last year, but it doesn't have to be like that. TLG can just produce a lot this time (I know that never happens, but just bear with me here ) and then feature it as a gift with purchase, or available for purchase for 19.99, or something like that, from October through December. Obviously, that's just one sales model, but it would be a great way to make extra money from this franchise, and, of course, to keep us all happy, in a year with a necessarily limited number of minifigures. They don't even have to call it "Bricktober," if they're worried it would bring up bad memories. Anything they can release this year is one fewer minifigure they have to "figure" into a future Collectible Minifigures series. And, yes, I agree with Roebuck and others that this theme will be here for a long time, but I hope I'm not the only one impatient for new content.

Forgive my ignorance, but I read this post four times, and I only now understand. But I don't fully understand the nature of Toy Fairs. Are these representatives for retail giants like Target, Walmart, or John Lewis and Smyths, like you apparently have in the UK? Or can anyone get in if they pay enough? I mean, stores would have to be incredibly stupid not to order new Harry Potter LEGO sets, given the extraordinary success of this last wave (unless they have a moral objection to HP's "witchcraft," which is, IMO, even more incredibly stupid in its own way). I know that LEGO fan sites such as Brickset get to go, but they also receive free sets from LEGO to review, so I don't understand the full purpose of not reviewing the sets early. Is it just to build suspense, drop by drop? Because that is working, I will admit! But display is better than nothing, because at this point we have little to no proof as to what the sets actually contain, and descriptions this week would help tide me over until June. A Triwizard dragon task would look vastly different than a Triwizard lake task, for instance? Will Privet Drive be included with a Knight Bus? Will Buckbeak appear in two (if any) sets this wave? Those questions mean a lot to me, because I'm always looking at the older Potter sets on eBay, but I'm reluctant to buy anything that will soon be outmoded. So far, I've been successful, but we'll see. Some older designs are better than the new ones, IMO: Hagrid, Basilisk, Fawkes, Snape, Draco, Dobby (if his eyes didn't rub off at the slightest touch), Madam Hooch with her double-sided, striped cape... I've noticed that prices for the 2010 Hagrid's Hut, and especially both Knight Buses, have dropped noticeably. I don't look at LEGO as an investment, but I would like to save money by not buying something twice, unless the new one is better. I'm glad this wave will supposedly be mostly Prisoner of Azkaban based. Not only is it my favorite film in the series, and my second favorite book (after Deathly Hallows), it makes sense with the logical progression of this theme. I do miss a Chamber of Secrets set, if only for Lockhart, Ginny, Moaning Myrtle, Tom Riddle, and a new Basilisk (okay, so pretty much everything about that set would be great ) but it's possible we will see it in a future wave, or even as a Shop at Home/retailer exclusive in this wave! On Instagram, there's a factory leak image of a minifigure head that looks a whole lot like Ginny Weasley. Sure, it could be a totally different character from a different theme, but I'm just saying, there's no logical place for Ginny to appear in the current rumored lineup, unless the Hogwarts Clock Tower incorporates multiple movies. Sorry for the really long post. I'm pretty excited, to say the least. Excited enough to get away from the Star Wars forum, where the discussion is stale, and the set selection is over-saturated with generally well-designed but overpriced sets with minifigures that cut so many corners it's embarrassing. Wrong skin tone, scarce arm or leg printing, a grand total of one dual molding, and constant re-releases that are good, but not great. My only complaint about this new Wizarding World theme is that it started too late! Apparently LEGO and/or WB were hoping for synergy with the Fantastic Beasts movies, but I really don't think that has anything to do with the success of the new Potter sets. And even then, why wait until the second installment in this...quintet? I suppose the world will still exist by the time this theme has run its course, but given that LEGO is a coping mechanism as well as a hobby for me, I'm impatiently awaiting news of the new POA sets, which will hopefully add a little Lumos to my day. Mostly, I don't want this theme to be cancelled prematurely, or to have any re-releases. I'm not opposed to bringing back old favorites from the "vault," but that should not be at the expense of new sets. Quite frankly, I don't see any reason not to leave...say...the current Hogwarts Express on shelves for five years, if it's still selling strong.

The ship in ROTS is slightly different (beyond the color, I mean), and in the canon, it's called the Tantive III. That being said, both ships are from the house of Alderaan, and I tend to think of the Tantive IV as being Leia and Bail's ship. If we ever get a remake (I, for one, believe the May the Fourth rumor, if only because I want to!! ), I don't think it would be too much of a stretch to include him. -

This comment seems inappropriate to me. I don't know what happened, but that seems like a culturally and socially insensitive joke. In other news, my Finch Dallow minifigure arrived from LEGO Customer Service. I couldn't believe it arrived in less than two weeks with all the correct pieces! -

That is indeed ridiculous. I'm sorry that happened. I'm sure the return will work, though. Did you try calling Customer Service directly? The parts showed out of stock on the United States Bricks and Pieces website, as well. That being said, I haven't received my minifigure in the mail yet, and I never got an email confirmation, so we'll see what happens. I should know soon. Re: the new minifigures list: -I'm actually really surprised that they gave Padme the new midi-legs. I thought it would be ages before they'd show up in Star Wars. Should be a great minifigure, though! -Honestly, I think Zuckuss is really ugly, and I wouldn't want him if not for completion's sake! I have the UCS Slave I, so I don't even know if it's worth it for me personally to BrickLink a Zuckuss minifigure. That being said, at least TLG listens to AFOLs' demands...sometimes. -Glad to see Dak in the Snowspeeder. It seems like the minifigure selections are deliberately echoing the old sets, which is fun. However, if Dak doesn't have the new helmet mold, I will...probably eventually buy the set anyway, because it's a Snowspeeder. -With the possible exception of Starkiller Duel, all the others are a pass for me, until I see what the May the Fourth UCS set will be. -

PLEASE READ I called LEGO Customer Service and explained the situation of the Finch Dallow minifigure. I explained how I had purchased the Resistance Bomber in November 2017, and how I found out via a LEGO fan forum and social media about the inexplicable switch of figures. The very kind customer service representative said that she had never heard of the issue, but she quickly verified it online. She then offered to send me the Finch Dallow minifigure pieces for free (supposedly they will arrive in a week or so). I should say that I live in the United States, and I have no idea how many other calls LEGO Customer Service has received in any given territory since then, but it seems like they really took my concern seriously. I told them that I was disappointed with the inexplicable change, and that I wasn't going to pay for a $110 set twice, when the LEGO Shop website itself doesn't make clear which variant is included. I can't guarantee how many times they will do this, but...it's worth a shot! Personally, I am incredibly thankful to the people of LEGO Customer Service, and they went above and beyond what I could have hoped for! Really, maybe this is how the situation should have been handled from the start: a "mail-in" offer for those with the proof of purchase of 75188. And if/when I receive the new figure, I will not be selling it; Finch Dallow will be sitting at the controls of the Cobalt Hammer, where he belongs. -

I believe in the original screenplay of the film, the dead Wookiees in the catamaran were supposed to be Tarfful and Chewbacca "playing dead," with Yoda pretending to be a mad little swamp creature (kind of like in Empire) to distract the clones. That would have made it slightly less morbid... I could be mis-remembering this, though. Anyway, I think the Wookiee looks terrible. IMO, the Chewbacca and Wookiee Warriors from 2005 look better than the ones today. Maybe it's the dark brown that I don't like, maybe it's the fangs, maybe it's the swirly flame printing to add detail, I don't know. Maybe they just need longer legs instead of bizarrely tall torso covers. I do like the two new OT Imperial troopers though. And if we're seeing leaks from the anniversary sets now, hopefully we'll soon see what kind of pilots to expect in the new Snowspeeder! -

I noticed that the "new" Rebel pilot helmets, from last summer's X-wing, do not fit with their minifigures in the current Snowspeeder design. I'm very curious to whether we finally get a new, more accurate canopy build, or whether they'll simply make the floor of the cabin deeper. Or, heck, maybe we'll never seen those helmets again, but that seems unlikely. With any luck, the set will at least give us a generic "Dak" helmet with side printing. I will say this, though: I have never missed a Snowspeeder yet (except the original UCS) and if the rumor of the classic Lando bonus minifigure is true, that would be a nice alternative to buying "Betrayal at Cloud City." With any luck, his cape would cover the commemorative anniversary print on his back. Then just add an updated head and hair, and you have a pretty good Lando. Seems like this deal is getting worse and worse (for my wallet) all the time. -

Speculation: Why has there not yet been a sale from any retailer in the United States on last summer's Sandcrawler (75220). Is it known to be a reliable bestseller? Or do you think it's more likely that, as a larger set, the overhead to store it is much higher, therefore they can't "afford" to discount it? I really want the set, but I'm trying to hold out until May the Fourth, at least, for a possible discount. I know I could always try eBay, but my New Year's Resolution is to kick the "aftermarket LEGO" habit entirely It doesn't seem like the set will be discontinued anytime soon, so I'm not too worried. And for those living in other territories, have you seen any discounts on that Sandcrawler? Or does it go down in price as slowly as it moves? -
So...did anyone in the US happen to see the Advent Calendar on clearance for $10 at Costco? There were about twenty there (mid-December), but I'd already bought mine at full price in September. Needless to say, I felt a bit stupid. I didn't get a second one, though, because it was halfway through the month, I didn't know anyone who really wanted one, and I thought it would be bad to hoard LEGO Advent Calendars (though I'm pretty sure some went to scalpers, anyway, because they were gone a few days later). Anyway, I got 75218 X-Wing (also from Costco clearance, for $50) as Christmas gift from my dad. What can I say? A few simple mods and I like it more than the UCS. I've actually come mostly around on the new helmet mold. But why couldn't think print one side of the pilots' heads with chin straps? It just seems to almost defeat the purpose... And as for the rest of Red, Gold, Blue, Green, Rogue, Grey, and whatever other squadron? Let's have all wings report in at the end of the next decade and see how many helmets actually ended up getting made. Today, though, I bought the Death Star Escape and the Escape Pod vs. Dewback Microfighters. A bit silly to pay full price, I know, but I had received some money as a gift, and I was very much looking forward to those two sets. So far I've only build the Microfighter, and all I can say is that I sincerely hope this isn't the last wave. While a Sandcrawler or Bantha would have been preferable to the Escape Pod, I love that little set to bits. I also love the new Stormtrooper helmet mold, which I was not necessarily expecting to say. It's pretty much perfect. But not as perfect as proper leg and hip printing would be.... Also maybe worth noting: I arrived just an hour after the LEGO Store opened, and I bought the last Dewback...wow. And apparently the Praetorian Guard Battlepack sold out almost immediately. I don't know what the store's inventory level was, but I always find it interesting to see what goes quickly on day one.

In all seriousness, are those Firestar custom arms or something? For a second, I looked at the picture, did a double-take, and thought: Have we come to a new era of Star Wars minifigures? But I guess not. I would personally guess Boba, if only because the 10th anniversary sets were all from the OT, and we haven't had a non-D2C Slave I set since 2010. That being said, there is also a podracer coming out around the anniversary, so who knows? Plus, 2019 is not the 20th anniversary of Attack of the Clones or Empire Strikes Back, nor is it even a Disney-wide merchandising thing, obviously, it's LEGO-specific, so at the end of the day, TLG will do what they want, or what they think will work. Speaking of which, no one was touching the Droid Gunships or AT-APs when I was at the LEGO Store today. -

USA SALE NEWS: Darth Vader's Castle is currently on sale for $90 (31% off) on Amazon in the United States, for 12 more hours, or until it sells out. I stumbled across this while browsing for information about Star Wars Celebration 2019, of all things, and it's a pretty great deal for a new, large set. You don't even have to be a Prime member. I'm just mentioning this here because I've missed other "lightning deals," and if this helps anyone else, so much the better. I'll have to wait until Christmas to see whether I got it...

Based on the 2019 news thread, the only Snowspeeder I see coming in the first quarter of next year appears to be a polybag or similar promotional for $4. Or do you think one of these will be a Snowspeeder (in which case, odds are it will be, even if we have no definite proof yet). 75259 $39.99 309 *MDP_20TH_1 75261 $29.99 250 *MDP_20TH_3 Copied and pasted from LEGO Star Wars 2019 News thread -
Wow. That's pretty amazing looking. I was planning on using my Advent Freemaker torso for an updated Captain Antilles, but I might do this instead. Thanks for sharing! Just out of curiosity, are those "old brown" legs? I can't tell for sure from the photo.

What are some Star Wars sets that TLG could never produce?
RogueTwo replied to Pdaitabird's topic in LEGO Star Wars
To be fair, I don't think there's a great amount of profound context to the story. Disney and LEGO can do what they want, but as far as I'm concerned, renaming something does not suddenly make it more acceptable--one of the ironies of political correctness, I guess. Some things are just always weird and bad (to my mind, at least). And as far as I'm concerned, since Carrie Fisher said she regretted having been talked into such an objectification of herself, that's the final word. If she didn't like that scene and that costume, there are plenty of other Leia minifigures to focus on, namely the white Bespin gown that should have been in the new Cloud City set, and her Episode VIII costumes. But anyway, this thread is too fun to pass up, so I tried for one awkward set per movie that hasn't been mentioned yet: Jar Jar Podrace Preparations $20 Includes Jar Jar Binks, Anakin's Podracer, and a new Eopie mold. Also includes a wrench accessory with a small hole in the Podracer engine, so if you drop it inside, you can't get it out without partially disassembling. "Pee Yousa!!" Naboo Forbidden Dinner $15 Includes Anakin Skywalker minifigure with alternate "creepy" face expression, and Padme Amidala minifigure with fabric minifigure clothing element to cover part of very uncomfortable costume to be revealed in the fireplace scene set (see above). The build consists of a table, two chairs, and a small catapult to reenact Anakin Force-flinging fruit in a way that would "make Master Obi-Wan very grumpy." UCS Banking Clan Frigate $300 Enough said. The Rest of the Conveyex $400 Includes monorail track, twenty more cars, and Beckett, Val, ten Range Trooper minifigures, and twenty Viper probe droids. Just kidding, the price is actually $800. Anything Else from Rogue One I will hold out hope one more year. Come on, LEGO! I love this movie, and I'd like to see more sets specifically inspired by it, other than a few minibuilds in an Advent Calendar. Red Five, Standing Bionicle! $30 The evolution of the Buildable Figures. This Luke can transform into an X-Wing. Why does this sound familiar? Captain Needa's Apology $15 Includes Darth Vader and a new Captain Needa minifigure with reversible head with alternate suffocating face, plus a small shuttle. Force Ghost Battle Pack $15 Includes Luke Skywalker and three new trans-light blue Force ghosts: Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Hayden Christensen. First Order Hate Rally $66,666 Includes thousands of First Order troop minifigures, plus a small Starkiller Base podium where General Hux and Captain Phasma can stand. Also includes a section of a Star Destroyer bridge with a Kylo Ren minifigure so he can watch the trajectory of death-by-sunlight sweep past the viewport. UCS Canto Bight Slot Machine Droid $100 If you get drunk enough, it might look like set 75187 UCS BB-8. -
Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but if TLG gets the rights to the Amazon series, would they still be able to co-market sets from the LOTR trilogy by Peter Jackson? Even if the visual DNA of the show intentionally sticks close to the movies, I could see a lot of issues that may not be worth the time of TLG, including Harvey Weinstein having been an executive producer of the LOTR trilogy (even though he didn't have any creative or artistic worth whatsoever, unless you count $$$). I am a serious LOTR fan, I have to concede that at this point, the new Harry Potter theme has given me loads of new stuff to work with, and I think that theme is likely a much better seller. That being said, it's a shame that a single D2C Minas Tirith loaded with minifigures would have placated most fans, and such a project was accepted and rejected twice on LEGO Ideas.

I think Grawp is highly unlikely, or maybe that's just my bias coming in. Dementors will probably make a reappearance, but since there's already been one in the Hogwarts Express, I don't think they'd make a "battle pack" type set for them. Another (unsubstantiated, of course) possibility for the small set could be a Gringotts vault, a mine cart, and figures from either Philosopher's Stone or Deathly Hallows, but at the very least a new Goblin or two with printed eyes. Hagrid's Hut could also have a Centaur, which I think would have considerable appeal to fantasy LEGO fans in general. The Knight Bus seems incredibly likely to me. I think of all the Triwizard tasks, the second would be the easiest to fit into a satisfactory model at a decent price point (gone are the days of $30 sets with giant dragons, I fear). However, we'd better get dual molding for the swimsuits this time. By Ministry Battle, do you mean the Hall of Prophecies, or Dumbledore vs. Voldemort in the Atrium? I think the latter might be a bit easier and interesting, since the Hall of Prophecies was almost entirely computer generated, very monotonous, and full of bad film editing, but I hope they would save any Order of the Phoenix sets until 2020 (assuming the license is reasonably guaranteed to continue). I don't think we need a remake of the Philosopher's Stone challenges. I mean, this is coming from somebody who just ordered "Fluffy" on eBay, but I honestly feel like those scenes became less important and interesting as the series went on. Plus, we already have Quirrell with a reversible Voldemort head. I do think we will eventually get a remake of the Chamber of Secrets. It's a very well-designed film location that is concretely defined enough that I think it would be possible to make a scaled-down version for $90-ish. Plus, we haven't gotten minifigures of Ginny, Lockhart, Tom Riddle, or Moaning Myrtle yet, so it seems like a no-brainer. The Clock Tower is probably number one on my list of most wanted and most likely large sets. As others have said, it would be a good idea to incorporate the Hospital Wing, as well. The basic format of the new Darth Vader's Castle got me thinking about this one. Minifigures: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Dumbledore, Sirius, Buckbeak, Madam Pomfrey, Fred, George, Percy. What part of the Battle of Hogwarts were you thinking of? I guess something on the battlements with Kingsley, Remus, Tonks, Bellatrix, Dolohov, Dementors, Neville, Ginny, Dean, and/or Aberforth would be amazing, I just can't quite picture the architecture of the space, other than a bunch of wooden plank bridges suspended by chains, the place where Voldemort resorts to "Muggle duelling" with Harry.

I think the "Kamino set" is just a speculation/rumor/joke that has gotten out of hand in the last two pages of this thread. I'd be thrilled to be proven wrong, but as far as I know, there's absolutely no concrete reason to believe that K vs R is a Kamino playset. -

Wow! The Death Star Escape set is a definite purchase for me. I already have lots of Tatooine Lukes (I doubt they'll change this Ep. IV Luke's hair to dark tan, since they didn't do it for the Sandcrawler...), and I already Bricklinked the UCS Death Star Leia, but.... the new Stormtrooper is a novelty, and it will be interesting to have at least one. And mainly, the set represents a convergence of my favorite aspects of the LEGO Star Wars theme: it's affordable, fairly film-accurate, detailed, appealing to all ages, a good selection of desirable minifigures (two heroes and the most iconic army-builder in all of cinema). As much as I love sets like the UCS Y-Wing, I think that from a conceptual point of view, these $25-30 "Great Playsets" are the best development of recent years. The Microfighter Naboo Starfighter still looks awesome, but I don't care for the source material (great Doug Chiang ship design, though). So I won't be buying it, but kudos to LEGO. The Escape Pod vs. Dewback is such an odd set. The Dewback is really cute and cleverly built, and the minifigures are good for new collectors, but the escape pod already such a small vehicle that I don't think it translates well to Microfighter form. Here's the real question: Does the Sandtrooper have the new Stormtrooper helmet design? I highly doubt it, but I suppose there are pros and cons for either way. -

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I meant that, in my opinion, the people posting stuff on Instagram are being somewhat ostentatious about their leaks. The leaked figures, themselves, have indeed been fairly anticlimactic. Also, thanks for your answers regarding TLG's position. I didn't even know there was a Discord for LEGO Leaks. That's not my kind of site, so I guess it makes sense that I never heard of it. EDIT: Clever timing on the 4+ A-Wing, given that 75175 was just recently retired. Here's hoping the ship is a fun, cute build, but....another clone pilot (no, not that kind of clone pilot) and another C-3PO?? At least this gives me an opportunity to quote Uncle Owen: "I have no need for a protocol droid." -

"Another Rebel" is always good news in my book. All this dramatic leaking and re-leaking and purchasing of ill-obtained figures seems a bit silly to me, since most will be revealed in less than two months, but I guess it's just part of the AFOL culture at this point. Whether TLG is on board with it or trying to crack down, who knows. That would be an interesting question for one of the Ambassadors. Oh, well, I guess I'm a hypocrite, because it's a guilty pleasure to go on Instagram and look for LEGO leaks. Anyway, do most of you think that this "Rebel" leaking next week will be from the 4+ A-Wing set? I guess it could be from a set later in the year, or something we don't know about yet. -

Yep, off target like Gold Leader, and we know what happened to him. I'll take most of the responsibility for this, and I'm sorry for going off track. I will say that I don't mean to be too cynical or ungrateful regarding the LEGO Star Wars team. I just think that minifigures (past, present, and future) are a goldmine, and so there's some level of Star Wars management that refuses to put all the maximum detail on any given figure. For instance, I'm sure some of the designers are just as nerdy as we are, and prefer the old helmet, or the new helmet, or a mix of both. As far as the 2019 sets, I don't have too much to say...I realize how disappointed I am by the 4+ build, especially the unenclosed X-Wing, but then again, I am over six times as old as the target audience. I guess it's unfortunate that the first annual AFOL leaks are, effectively, "Duplo+". That's an exaggeration, of course, but these sets are not meant to be leaked and obsessed over by adults for three months. They have no chance of holding up to our scrutiny, haha. That being said, I feel like I'd better save my money, because I have a feeling that April-December of next year will be a relentless attack of intriguing sets.
