A propos of all this Bounty Hunter speculation, is anyone else concerned that the set may be delayed from its reported June 1 release date (particularly in North America)? Obviously, TLG has a pretty good instinct for staggering releases across regions so as to maximize profit, but even so, they seem notoriously bad at estimating quantity to meet demand. For example, several of the two-week-old sets in the United States are already backordered until April. That's just poor form, in my opinion. I don't mind waiting two extra months for the 2017 wave, but when that really turns into "two extra months PLUS whenever they come back in stock," that's kind of disappointing, especially considering the retailer exclusives. I don't mean to complain, or to open up an old can of worms, but my main point is this: With the second set of battle packs already delayed until June, and with the Bounty Hunter set potentially poised to be one of the most popular small sets of all time (at least among AFOLs, who are usually the ones responsible for making stuff go backordered/out of stock ), I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Bounty Hunter battle pack gets delayed until September or later, ESPECIALLY given that the final set wasn't even completed for ToyFair, just a mock-up of the box and minifigures.

Thank you! I'm very happy, even if my wallet's not. Thanks to you, too, sir, for your vote of confidence! I'm actually not a Boba Fett fan, but the set looks absolutely beautiful. I do indeed love the boxart, but to me it was worth sacrificing for a $50 (or $70 if you count sales tax) reduction in price. As a compromise, I set that gorgeous Bespin sunset scene as my desktop background! Thanks a bunch for reminding me. I was actually reading through that whole thread last night, and I was shocked to see that it got into a pretty heated discussion with the set designer (or at least someone who claimed to be Hans Burckhard Schlomer). Probably shouldn't mention that here. The main thing is, I will be sure to do that MOD as I build the set for the first time.

As I stated above, I would absolutely LOVE a new ISD as well. Of course, I don't know whether I would be able to afford it, but that's another matter. Personally, I'd rather see Tarkin's Star Destroyer from Rogue One, featuring Tarkin (obviously), several Imperial Officers, Krennic, and [the latest desperate attempt to include] Galen Erso. I'm neither a Rebels nor an old EU fan, but I can see why you guys want the right Thrawn.

Just made a very impulsive purchase after having a really horrible day. I binged on a 150 USD (free shipping) Ultimate Collector Series Slave I on eBay. The box packaging is supposedly ruined, but I couldn't care less, because all the bags, instructions, and stickers are still sealed. I just hope I don't regret it...I don't think I will...

Nice MOC! I really like it, and we could always use more Rogue One sets! Why did you choose to use short legs for Vader? Is that supposed to represent the fact that his legs were amputated in Episode III? The Bacta Tank is really well engineered! It kind of reminds me of the Carbon Freezing Chamber. My only suggestion would be that I think the Bacta Tank chamber works fine on its own, and the spires of the tower, the lavafall,. etc. aren't really necessary for the MOC; they might work better as a separate, mini-scale MOC. But that's just my opinion. :)

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
RogueTwo replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Unfortunately, I don't think we'll get a Rogue One poster. I could be wrong, but I don't think LEGO was anticipating the darkness of the movie; although fans love it (IMO, it's the best Star Wars movie ever), it didn't create nearly as much publicity as The Force Awakens. There hasn't been any news of a LEGO Rogue One video game, for example. Also, we now know that there will be no Rogue One sets this summer, unless they're retailer exclusives, which seems highly unlikely. That's actually my bigger concern: that LEGO will shy away from Rogue One in favor of the myriad other Star Wars stories, and we might never get sets such as the AT-ACT, the Cargo Shuttle, or Saw Gerrera's catacomb hideout. That being said, it wouldn't be that much of an investment to create an exclusive poster for May the Fourth, so I guess we'll find out in a month or so. I hope for you that they will keep the poster collection complete. -
Yep, it's been mentioned, although I haven't seen that exact BrickVault video. Personally, I feel quite sure that we will get a UCS Falcon this year, but I don't really think that the Rathtar Escape box is conclusive proof.
-
I think Assault on Hoth may go on sale this May the Fourth. I have absolutely no source for this, but it happened with the UCS B-Wing, and I'm only writing this because I have also been tempted to buy it, but I'm hoping for a discount later. Otherwise, nice 2017 collection, and happy early birthday.
-
Many thanks to you (and CM4Sci)! That makes me feel so much better. I should start saving.
-
So, as far as the UCS Snowspeeder, 75144, is concerned, does anyone know when we might get an official reveal? I was so sure that it would be showed at ToyFair. Are there any other promotional expos/venues coming up? All I can say is that I (like many others) have been waiting for this set for nearly two years, so I hope it will still be released this May the Fourth...I'm starting to get a little worried.
-
Well, the regular Stormtrooper Buildable Figure in the same wave is slated to cost $25 (which is also absurd), but then again all the "Constraction" figures seem overpriced to me. So anyway, an extra $30 for the Speeder Bike honestly sounds pretty understandable to me.

Nice! At first when you said $10, I thought you were talking about the Microfighter. Speaking of $10, today I bought an Imperial Trooper Battle Pack (75165) from my local Target, where it is still priced for $10. Seems like a steal to me; I'm sure they'll be correcting that price soon.

I don't really know anything about the new Han Solo movie (well, I guess no one knows too much), but I would hope to see the following sets in the 2018 wave, mostly because they have great OT/Rogue One crossover potential, just like how people were excited to get an AT-ST and a Y-Wing from the RO sets. Not too creative, perhaps, but just stuff that I've missed and/or needs an update: Imperial Star Destroyer Han's "outrun Imperial starships--not the local bulk cruisers, mind you, [...] the big Corellian ships." This set could be a minor update from the 2014 version; maybe larger, about the size of the 2006 ISD. Minifigures would depend on the new movie, but it would be great if we could get some of those Imperial officers from 75159 in a set that's not $500. Estimated cost: 140 USD. Imperial TIE Fighter Yes, just a standard OT TIE Fighter, which I think would sell really well, and which I think will probably appear in some capacity in the Han Solo movie. The 2012 version really needs an update, and while it seems easily MOD-able (I don't own the set), a new TIE would go along well with the recent Advanced and Striker models. Obviously it would feature the new-ish hatch canopy pieces, and...inevitably...spring-loaded missiles. If possible, I would like to see a TIE pilot helmet with molded oxygen hoses (like the TFA minifigures). If that would be too fragile, I must admit that I would even be happy with a rubber mold for the helmet, which would probably be more durable. Estimated cost: 60 USD, or 70 USD if they include filler builds and/or rare figures.

LEGO seems to refuse to give Star Wars minifigures dual molding...for now. As far as the grey legs with black printing, it seems that LEGO also refuses to release minifigures missing arms, legs, or hands.
-
Oh, sorry, I didn't see that you are in the UK. As a matter of fact they used to stock everything in LEGO Brand Retail Stores until--at most--three years ago, when they went to the "retailer exclusive" model. Anyway, off-topic, so I'll stop now. I believe that others have said there will be one more retailer exclusive, yes. Which begs the question, why would they not reveal it at the New York Toy Fair? Is it (and the Starfighter with Hyperdrive Booster Ring) supposed to be a last-minute surprise?
-
Agreed. I resent Walmart especially, although Target isn't so bad. I happen to do most of my purchases from Amazon, but WHY are retailer exclusives no longer available in LEGO Brand Retail Stores? Are the big box stores paying them so much? I already went to Toys R Us once, which was once too much; I'll probably save money and buy the A-Wing in March from LEGO.com (assuming it comes back in stock).
-
The only way I could see it getting delayed is if they scrap it entirely and go for the Falcon or something else for May the Fourth. But that doesn't seem possible. At least two finalized boxes exist somewhere in the world, as well as several sets of figures. Toy Fair technically ends tomorrow--mightn't we still get pictures by then? Search your feelings, and you will find them. [Side note, why is TLG unable to remove pictures from Reddit? Or is it just not worth the effort? Or are they the ones who leak them in the first place? Who knows?]
-
Yes, usually TRU prices are inflated, but when sets come out, they are sometimes MSRP for a little bit. For example, I just bought the Y-Wing on Thursday for 60 USD, so if it's already 20% off, I'm a bit disappointed. But more power to anyone else who gets them while they're on sale! But you're right that Amazon discounts down the road will probably be better.
-
So, basically every new set. I'm definitely jealous, but I wish you happy building! I think I'll buy the Battle on Scarif next, probably this coming Friday or Saturday.
-
Um...I sort of get the Dune reference, but just...what? Anyway, I'd like to see a mini Y-Wing polybag. After building the new 75172, it just occurred to me that we've never had a standalone mini Y-Wing (it's only been in Advent Calendars or sold in separate "bonus" pieces from the original Mini wave back in 2003). Or better yet, bring back the Planet Series. That would really make me happy! Scarif with TIE Striker, Eadu with U-Wing, Planet Yavin with Y-Wing, Jakku with Quadjumper, Starkiller Base with...whatever. Now that there's no end in sight for Star Wars, I could see the Planets returning in a few years...maybe.
-
YES, please. And while they're at it, start printing minifigure legs all the way down. I don't even care about dual-molding as much as I care about the laziness of incomplete prints. Just compare the 2014 OT Stormtrooper legs to this guy from "Imperial Inspection" back in 2005: It's sad when 12-year-old minifigures are more accurate than the current ones (by the way, the old printed legs work pretty well with the new torso; I'll post a picture later if I can). Also, I know I've said this elsewhere, but I'd like to see a proper canopy for System-scale Snowspeeders. Kind of like a mini version of the new UCS canopy.
-
That's pretty awesome, thanks for sharing! (And to be honest, I didn't even realize it was a re-creation at first, when I glanced at it, I thought it was a video from Toy Fair)
-
Is the A-Wing a TRU exclusive? On LEGO Shop.com, it's back-ordered until March 28! I mean, I saw the set at Toys R Us when I was there two days ago, but I haven't seen it anywhere else.

To those in the US, Amazon.com is having a lightning deal on the 75154 TIE Striker for $48. Only two hours and fifty minutes (or thereabouts) left. I wish I could afford it, but I just bought the Y-Wing. Hopefully, someone will be able to take advantage of it. -
It looks the same as the one from 75055 Imperial Star Destroyer to me. But I could be wrong.
