After my figurative prayers have been answered with this year's new TIE, X-Wing, and UCS Y-Wing (seriously, I should be super thankful; how often does one get all their main wishes in one year?) I have a few more suggestions that might round out the Rogue One collection. Nothing that hasn't been said before--heck, I've probably said it before--but here we go: *Please note, prices listed are not ideal, just representative of what TLG might actually charge in the US. I don't have the expertise to extrapolate that price into the usual illogical conversions. Rebel Alliance Personnel Battle Pack ($14.99) Could include updated Mon Mothma, Bail Organa (hopefully with new skin tone), Rebel technician like the one from 75175, and...RED LEADER, standing by patiently [see below]. There are a number of potentially interesting small builds, including the little maintenance carts and, perhaps more intriguing, the computers and the circular conference/holo-table thing in the Yavin IV War Room. Scarif Imperial Battle Pack ($14.99) Minifigures could include General Ramda and Admiral Gorin (or any other two Imperial officers, really), hopefully with dual-molded Batman boots; also, a Stormtrooper (Please complete the leg printing. If you can do it on Moroff, why not on the most ubiquitous figure ever?) and a Scarif Stormtrooper. If they're too cheap to do dual-molded arms, then at least give the trooper a red arm or something. Again, the possibilities for side builds are actually quite numerous. More orange cargo crates would never go amiss, nor would a mini Cargo Shuttle. Eadu Investigation ($59.99) This set would basically consist of a tower, complete with a ladder fixed against the wall for Jyn to climb. Then of course there's the observation platform for Galen and his engineers. No, Krennic's shuttle would not be able to fit on this platform...but maybe the Microfighter could! The research facility would basically be a facade, but there could be a little bit of room behind the doors (much like 75171 "Battle on Scarif") for some more Death Star plans. Minifigures include Galen Erso and Imperial Engineer, each with printed arm(s), one Death Trooper, Orson Krennic (Imperial raincoat and hat, make it happen!), and Jyn Erso, who could pretty much be the same as the one from the U-Wing, but please give her printed legs and a new hair mold this time. Hammerhead Corvette ($79.99) I have an idea! Actually, I have no idea...of the true scale of this ship, and I'm too tired to check right now, but obviously there's no way a LEGO Imperial Star Destroyer could ever be built to scale, so I think it's kind of irrational to try to make everything perfectly accurate (UCS ships like Slave I excepted, of course). To be honest, I don't actually love this ship, and I anticipate that it would be priced fairly highly, but it's a wonderfully iconic moment from the movie. Minifigures? Two Rebel fleet troopers in tan uniform like Captain Antilles, Admiral Raddus, Mon Calamari lieutenant, and at least one Rebel pilot with a new helmet print. Jedha City Ambush ($99.99) Okay, this one couldn't be released too soon, for reasons soon to be seen. Basically, I thought it would be cool to have a set like Watto's Junkyard back from 2001: there could be a number of sandy buildings, but the main build would consist of a half-disassembled Partisan X-Wing, suggesting the one crashed in the dead-end street where Jyn and Cassian are rescued by Chirrut and Baze. Obviously, the X-Wing would be designed to be rebuilt (no First Order AT-ST this time!), and this would finally give us an opportunity to have Saw Gerrera, the Two-Tubes eggmates, and maybe even Warwick Davis's character. Oh, and some obligatory Stormtroopers. Plus an Assault Tank commander with a new helmet mold, if they're feeling really generous. AT-ACT ($149.99) I'm just waiting for that First Order walker to walk off the shelves... Then we can get to this monster, which, as far as I'm concerned, could be largely the same as 75054 "AT-AT," but with longer legs, and obviously an enormous cargo container in place of the troop bay. Minifigures are more difficult, but I'd say we could have two Imperial Combat Drivers, Baze Malbus, Chirrut Imwe, Sergeant Melshi, Cassian in Imperial disguise, and Bodhi Rook with printed arms and a new face print. Imperial Star Destroyer ($159.99) Not much to say about the actual model. We all love ourselves a good Star Destroyer. Even Rebel scum such as I. Hopefully it would just improve upon 75055, which I have wanted for a long time. The secondary market prices aren't too bad, and I could always BrickLink it, but it seems like an inevitable re-release. The only downside of this one potentially becoming a set is that it probably couldn't be on the shelves at the same time as a UCS version. Minifigures would perhaps not be the main draw of this set, but they could include Orson Krennic (grey hair), Grand Moff Tarkin, two Death Troopers, one generic Imperial officer, and one Imperial crewman. Bonus points for a micro Hammerhead Corvette. May the Fourth Promo or other collectible Star Wars minifigures with stands (the ones that can attach to R3, Scary, and DJ): Red Leader would be pretty great to go with the new Gold Leader this Spring! Chances of this happening are approximately 3,720 to 1, but it would be really cool get get Lyra Erso figure, especially as a multi-figure pack with Young Jyn and Galen the Farmer. Like everyone else, I want a Dr. Evazan and Ponda Baba, although come to think of it, those could be thrown in any potential Jedha set we get. (Why not the Cantina? Grrrhh.) To no one's surprise, I'm sure, I have additional revised ideas for the Profundity, the Tantive IV, Scarif shenanigans, and a UCS Cargo Shuttle. To be continued...

Hi, all! I'm looking to replace 9493 X-Wing Starfighter in my Rebel fleet. Obviously, I'm very much looking forward to 75218 coming out this summer, but I find that I've been browsing for the UCS 10240 for months...I could get a copy of 10240 for $250-ish, if I shopped around, vs. the likely price tag of $80 USD for the new one. I'm planning on getting the all-but-confirmed Y-Wing this May the Fourth (unless it's really awful, which I can't imagine would be the case), so it would be nice to have the two ships to fly together. So my questions are: --Do you all think that the price of the UCS X-Wing 10240 will go up, down, or sideways by the time 75218 is released? --How bad are the undersized engine intakes on 10240? The new system-scale model appears much more accurate in some ways... --Is it confirmed the the second pilot in 75218 is, in fact, Biggs? Then where would we get Red Leader? There's always hope for a Rebel pilot battle pack, I suppose. --How long will it be until the new UCS X-Wing is released? (Obviously, this is sheer speculation, but I would imagine 5 years, at least) Thanks so much in advance for answering any or several of my questions! -

Maybe I'm missing something, but is 75219 accounted for yet? Brickset has it listed as a 2018 Star Wars set between the X-Wing and the Sandcrawler. Dare I get my hopes up for an AT-ACT or Cargo Shuttle or Imperial Star Destroyer? Probably not. I'm sure I overlooked something, but if anyone has any idea what kind of set it is, I would be very interested to know. -

YES! New OT/Rogue One X-Wing! This has been my most wanted set for the past two years! I bought a used 9493 on eBay for a good price two summers ago, but it's very poor compared to the newer Resistance models. Bring on Red Leader! (Just to clarify, that's a hope, not a fact, as of yet). Jawas, Sandcrawler, Cantina, Dagobah, X-Wing, rumored Cloud City and UCS Y-Wing??? This could be the best year for OT fans in a long time. EDIT: @Seaber, I hope you're right about Red Leader! TLG does know what AFOLs want, so I'm optimistic. -
I'm a little late to the game, but in the past month, I got: -75098 Assault on Hoth while it was $175 on Brick Friday -7666 Hoth Rebel Base on eBay for just over retail price -7879 Hoth Echo Base (without minifigures) on eBay for super cheap -Bricklink and Bricks and Pieces orders to help me scrap together 75054 AT-AT Yeah, you can probably see what all these sets have in common:
-
I surely hope so. Might be a better topic for the "Future Star Wars sets" forum, but I will just say that I find TLG's lack of Rogue One disturbing. However, if I had to guess, I'd say that if the "minifigure with stand" series does continue, the next ones will be based on The Last Jedi...
-
I'm on the Star Wars diet where I buy only Star Wars. A propos, I bought the Resistance Bomber, which is expensive but huge and truly special. And I bought the Resistance-affiliated minifigures from 75189 on eBay, because I think that set is ugly as heck (although to be fair, I have never liked the Imperial craft, even AT-ATs), and I really wanted to have a complete Resistance minifigure collection.

I don't know if there's a database, but you can be sure that people on the Internet have identified them (or failed to do so). For the particular example you cited, I think the guy is supposed to be Colonel Datoo. But it's hard when the Star Wars sets keep reusing the same generic minifigure heads. -
Having just finished building 75188, it's very enjoyable to see this wonderful MOC! It looks simultaneously adorable and lethal. I especially like the off-set tiles (and grilles, and grey "ingots") on the main wing. It gives the ship a haphazard yet very hardy look, which seems representative of the Resistance.

So with the Solo wave supposedly coming out in spring, do people think that the "winter" wave will hit all markets simultaneously, or will there be a staggered release/delay in North America again? That happened two times in a row, so I'm sure it was intentional, but if TLG goes that route again, there could be a pile-up of sets around April/May, and Last Jedi sets would be competing with Solo merch. I'm not good at waiting as it is, so I hope we'll start to see some of these sets by late December. EDIT: There's an eBay store of dubious legality already selling 2018 Star Wars minifigures in the US, so I'd imagine that the Last Jedi sets are coming soon for us all. I hope... I was underwhelmed by the first wave (generally speaking--however, the Resistance Bomber is awesome), and I have cautiously high hopes for 2018. -

For what it's worth, the "behind the scenes" info in the instruction booklet for 75144 UCS Snowspeeder does mention Sandspeeders as an environmental variant of the T-47. So I guess maybe they're canon? I find it hard to believe that the instructions were hiding an easter egg, but given the (apparent) popularity of that speeder design, maybe it's not so random after all. I love the pilots, but like I think I said before, a new canopy element will really seal the deal for me. EDIT: Yes, the Imperial Troop Transport is a good example of a repurposed design, but remember that it also featured in the early episodes of Rebels. That being said, TLG and Disney have virtually limitless outlets to advertise "Sandspeeders" to kids before 2018 descends upon us. -
What minifigures are you talking about? Are you referring to the ones being discussed in the 2018 thread?

If it doesn't show up on Rebels, maybe it will be advertised to kids via an episode of the "Freemakers" show, or some similar "original content," much like the bounty hunters. And yeah, just saying: if we don't get a Red Leader minifigure by the end of 2018, I will be extremely disappointed...but still "standing by" until that day comes at last. -

If this is legit, it would be the perfect opportunity to finally create a proper System-scale T-47 cockpit canopy piece (18 years overdue!). The one with the UCS Snowspeeder is great, and I'm sure that TLG could give us a beautiful scaled-down version, much as they did with the X-Wing for 75102 and 75149. If they include a new canopy and new Rebel helmets for a small/mid-sized set, I will buy at least one without a doubt! -
A true minifigure-scale ISD probably wouldn't even fit inside a LEGO Store. I agree with others that a Tantive IV is long-overdue. I am frankly amazed that there wasn't some incarnation of the ship this year, between the fortieth anniversary and residual Rogue One hype.
-
Just out of curiosity, what was the sale price? I missed it. The minifigures from Assault on Hoth seem quite nice, and unlikely to appear elsewhere. Anyway, I'm thrilled to say that I did get 75101 First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter for $35 on clearance at Target. Nearly bought it about a month ago for $50, so I'm feeling very happy and thankful right now. :)
-
All very true. But my fingers are still crossed for a >$300 UCS Y-Wing next year. By then, it will have been 14 years since the last one. Not to mention that they should release one before "Red Five" looks totally obsolete, and they have to release a UCS X-Wing again. Not sure whether Poe's X-Wing will happen so soon, though. The system-scale one may be inaccurate, but it's a wonderful set, and it's been on the market for nearly two years now. Also, it's not listed as Retiring Soon...yet. I don't think we'll get a Sequel Trilogy UCS for several years still (excepting the Falcon, of course, which is a trans-generational legend). EDIT: I would be highly disappointed if TLG keeps inundating the market with more and more expensive sets. They would be wise to keep a little breathing room, rather than releasing, say, an ISD, AT-AT, and Cloud City as the next three sets. That would just be overwhelming, and it would make each set (not to mention the Falcon) feel less special. I agree with jdubbs that a small(er) set for next May the Fourth is the way to go.
-
I don't care if the Millennium Falcon is in stock in October. I don't care if it's the most elusive set in history (because it will be, let's face it: TLG is terrible with inventory, intentionally or not). I just want to acquire this Kessel-runner some time in life. Also, am I the only one who's having paranoid thoughts of the words "Temporarily out of stock"?
-
"You will pay the price for your lack of vision." Too bad I haven't posted here for a while; I forgot my password, and was too busy with other stuff. The UCS Millennium Falcon 2.0. This is the stuff of legend! I was an idiot and didn't save my money, so I will have to wait for a bit. Might even buy the UCS TIE Fighter first, since it will likely sell out before the end of the year. The Falcon pictures, if legit, look to be a vast improvement on the original (which I don't own). The cockpit seems perfect, and the blend between tiles/smooth slopes and exposed studs seems quite reasonable for a ship that has been through as much as the Falcon. Of interest to me is the bottom of the ship, which clearly shows plates studs-down near the rear engines. The ultimate SNOT, if you will. This leads me to believe that there will be a thoroughly detailed underside! As far as the interior, I think a couple rooms are a given, but even if that doesn't turn out to be the case, a detailed cockpit will suffice for me. Also, I called the manager of the LEGO Store where I briefly used to work, and she said that the set will not be on display this Friday. Since must be some worthwhile way of promoting the set in-store (according to the advertisement I received in the mail, at least), I'm expecting either a video screen exhibiting the features of the set, or else a giant poster. Come to think of it, it's possible that the mystery poster with Star Wars purchase for Force Friday will be feature some artwork of the Falcon. "Congrats on spending all your money on Force Friday, kids! Now take home an ad for SOMETHING BIG that you will never be able to afford!"

Sorry if I'm late to the game, but they did once, sort of: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626cpb1132&idColor=90#T=S&C=90&O={"color":90} Of course, it's cringeworthy as Luke's face, but I suppose it could work for older light-skinned pilots. As far as new OT helmets, I think we may be in luck (or exasperation, if you have been collecting them for the past 18 years). Look at the pictures for the minifigs for the TLJ Resistance Bomber. The Bombardier has the old-style helmet (probably so that there can be an alternate face with an oxygen mask), but the other two pilots appear to have a new helmet design with dual-molded visor. I could be wrong, but they certainly look OT-ish to me. I don't think they're the TFA helmets, and they're certainly not the bizarre (but beautiful) U-Wing helmet from the Microfighter. On another minifigure-related note, it would appear that, if TLG decides to keep the old 1999 OT helmet mold, the printing is going to improve drastically. Take a look at the full side-printing on the pilot from the Y-Wing Microfighter, and on the Resistance Bombardier. I think that's the standard we're looking at from 2017-beyond. The reason the UCS Snowspeeder helmets didn't have full side-printing is probably because the set was designed, and originally primed for release, either last year or the year before, can't remember which. Looking good but expensive on the Rebel pilot front! Sorry for such a long post, but these are my favorite minifigures of all time, so...

Airspeeders, but with some heavy weaponry tacked on. ;) I probably shouldn't speculate any further about what the Sandspeeder is, but I think I remember reading something (not sure where) that the Heavy Assault Walker in TLJ has massive and reinforced front legs so that they are not vulnerable to the old tow cable trick. As for the other sets confirmed by Sir von Lego, I have yet to comment: Yoda's Hut is a must-buy, even though I'm only collecting Rogue One-related stuff at the moment. I don't have the new Yoda yet, and I have never had the old Dagobah Luke. Both figures are likely to be totally new, anyway, and I'm crossing my fingers for a mud-splatter print for R2! The rest I will probably pass on, except for the new TLJ battlepacks, if they are released in January. I'm looking forward to the Han Solo sets, mainly because even if the movie is terrible, it could still be our last chance to get a whole wave of OT-era sets for a while. -

I think you're right, but do we have any definitive knowledge of what the Sandspeeder is? The Crait skimmers were technically flying above salt flats, not sand (and it looked like snow in the trailer, so who knows? ). Granted, I can't think of any other "Sandspeeder" there could be, but we don't yet have the full picture of The Last Jedi--the movie, I mean -
There are a ton of people who love exclusive astromechs, apparently. Mostly AFOLs, I guess. Kids will not race out to buy them when Resistance or First Order Troopers are available. As for the Jawas, a battle pack could have been a great idea, but TLG has already "mainstreamed" the Jawas with the Droid Escape Pod set and the Advent Calendar from two years ago. Then again, new people start collecting LEGO Star Wars every year, and I'm sure a cheap way to get generic Tatooine figures will appeal to many (especially if they have exclusive prints, as Sneakguest mentioned).

I was able to order the R3-M2 dome and cylinder body pieces from United States Bricks and Pieces for dirt cheap, when they were available on there. I checked for you, and they don't ship pieces to Canada, which is absolutely bizarre and unfortunate, but I'm sure here is not the place for that... R3-M2 is going for $15 on the US Amazon.com (sold by a third-party seller with excellent feedback, fulfilled and shipped by Amazon). I don't know how viable it is to order stuff to Canada, over the border from our crazy country. You said you already got R3, though, so I guess the real question going forward is the availability of the subsequent "figure-on-stand" polybags (if indeed there will be any beyond the Scarif Stormtrooper). I ordered that one on eBay from a seller in the US who imported them from Europe. He only had five in stock, he had excellent feedback, and he provided lots of pictures of the polybags, so I figure they're legit. I guess we'll find out tomorrow when it arrives in the mail! Seriously, though, I personally dislike the idea of "exclusives" of any kind, whether they're SDCC minifigures, or even retailer exclusives that are only available for a few months, which has happened before. That kind of marketing should be for Funko POP, not LEGO. I have seen that, too. I'm not sure whether there is such a thing as the Eastern Bloc anymore, but anyway, the polybag was released in eastern Europe (there are proper photos of the figure on BrickLink inventory page, so people do have it). I'm thinking the polybags are real, but whether they were available for mass purchase at retail price, or whether they accidentally "fell off a truck," I have no idea.. -
The torso, legs, and kama of the Scarif Stormtrooper are all showing as "sold out" on Bricks and Pieces if you search for 40176. Still, might be worth keeping an eye out in case they go on sale for dirt cheap as they did for R3-M2. Then again, R3 was a droid, and TLG seems to be stricter about selling unique minifigure pieces, but who knows?
