Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Darth Shadowthrone replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Ok so that’s a Friends set with oversize walkie talkies which give a good idea of scale for these objects. The Infinity Gauntlet also shows us that even an object in one metallic colour is possible as a Lego set so that definitely means we could get: - the Sword of Gryffindor - the Golden Snitch - The Time-Turner - Deathly Hallows symbol/necklace - Slytherin’s locket I’m not convinced the Sorting Hat could work but maybe it could be put together with the Sword / Tom Riddles diary -

That’s great news! I was surprised by how early some of the other 2019 sets were discontinued which made me not want to miss the Indominus. Hopefully the longer shelf life means it’ll be easier to find for a discount -

On another note does anyone know when the Indominus Rex vs Ankylosaurus is going to be discontinued? The diliphosaurus set went out of stock before I could get it so I don’t want to miss my chance with this other set -

So just to make things clear in terms of Dino distribution this year - 4+ Stigimoloch set with probably just that 1 Dino (maybe recoloured) - Medium-small raptor set with probably just 1 raptor and BRICK-BUILT T-Rex bones - Carnosaurus set with probably just 1 Dino (again maybe recoloured) - boat / yacht set with MAYBE 2 Baryonix In total: 1 Stigimoloch, 1 raptor, 1 carnosaurus, 1 or 2 Baryonix I understand how this information has only come from partial set names but this seems like the most conservative and reasonable estimate of how many Dinos we’re getting. If any of this is wrong then please correct me 🙂 -

The funny thing is the baby raptors are already around the size of a real velociraptor compared to figures - velociraptors are thought to be about the size of a cat or small dog. Luckily the larger raptors could instead be used for dromeosaurs or utahraptor. I’ve also actually started collecting Lego baby raptors as they are quite easy to find as magazine gifts here in the UK - I already have the baby Rex and baby Delta and Echo. It would definitely be cool to get the mould in even more colours! -

That’s what I thought - the likeliest scenario is the funding - that went into what would have been 2 waves this year - is now being split across this and next year, meaning there won’t be any extra sets designed and no budget for anything that hasn’t already been designed until 2023 I love your idea for the £30 set tho - new characters, a T. rex skull and a raptor would be worth it IMO, especially if Blue is reprinted grey like the baby version from the volcano set -

I love it! Definitely prefer the darker colour scheme of this and the Indoraptor compared to the lighter Indominus Rex the only shame is that unless there’s an unknown exclusive set this year (unlikely) I don’t think we’ll get this Dino in Lego because it needs new moulds. If Lego can just delay an entire wave to next year then they probably won’t bother designing a whole new set to tie-in to a tv series. The only hope to ever get this in Lego seems to be for 2023 if camp Cretaceous/ a Lego JW tv series is still on. -

This new dinosaur is certainly not pretty but I've seen other therapods look even uglier in reconstructions sometimes! I like the tail, it's that sort of crazy detail I think Jurassic World should embrace if they keep doing these mutants - why give them realistic features if they're completely made-up?! If Netflix has released the entire season at once I take it there's better pictures of that particular dinosaur than that shadowy picture from the wiki page? I might have a skim through the episodes later -

I think there could be a golden draco in a polybag or advent calendar and golden dumbledore will definitely be in £250 set -

My mistake, I googled ‘camp Cretaceous’ boat and one of the only results that came up was some sort of makeshift raft A boat with a large moulded hull could be cool and would be another reason for a low piece count -

Haven’t watched Camp Cretaceous - is the boat a raft? A large 400-500 piece raft (depending on sidebuilds) could be quite a cool build especially since it won’t use the normal big boat pieces Also I definitely could see there being two CC sets and two normal JW sets with Owen - I don’t think there would a JP, JW and CC sets as that would be a very random wave even for Lego -

Hopefully when build-a-minifigure is reopened here in the UK there’ll be a pink hair piece in there, they’ve had recoloured hair pieces before after all! On another note I’ve started to build a corner piece of Hogwarts with a rock piece on the bottom that could be compatible with the new sets - being able to have two walls on Hogwarts definitely making it easier than a long line I started it on a 4 x 8 plate but I probably need to switch to an 8 x 8 so it’s the same size as the smallest rooms -

Does anyone know if the instructions for the new Hogwarts sets are already available? I want to see if I can copy some of those rock bases for some of my other Hogwarts sections -

There’s a new Monochrome minifigure set leaked that has a pink figure with hermiones/wonder woman’s hair. It looks a bit long for Tonks from the films but I feel like pink hair pieces are quite rare -
I’d just like to say that I would love any minifigures based on old Castle themes, especially the more fantastical ones. The Bat Lord, the witch, Cedric the Bull or any of the characters from the power-ranger coloured Knights would be really cool

Here's the PotterMinifigPals video on all the castle parts put together - she creates several different combinations which all look very interesting Some of the outside is a bit of a mix but I absolutely love how the rooms look put together from the inside, there's just something about seeing them all interconnected that really appeals. Plus the Fluffy Room looks great when it's put higher up -

You just made me think they could have put a couple of cards in the mini figure pack - how cool would that have been?! You can see the bricks through the packaging of those accessory sets so that would have been a great way to pick up any missing ones -

As someone who’s not a hardcore completionist I really like the chocolate frog cards as a little bonus extra to the sets, the randomness will make unboxing that little bit more exciting which I appreciate. Edit: I’m an idiot, didn’t see Nicholas Flamel in another picture -

Love the chocolate frog cards, I’d love to make a wall of those tiles once I’ve got a few anniversary sets! -

So I’m definitely thinking the biggest set of the Jurassic World sets should have at least 2 big dinosaurs: the City Safari sets piece counts and prices are on Promobricks and the pieces are VERY low for an unlicensed set. The second-largest set with the helicopter is €90 for 525 pieces, an elephant and several smaller animals The largest set with an elephant and lions is €100 for 503 pieces. I can definitely see how with Jurassic Worlds license <400 pieces for an £80 set makes sense but I’m really hoping the users expecting two Baryonix are right -

I’m planning on eventually creating a small Dino safari but I’m only starting out with a flamingo, chameleon, baby dinosaurs and a collection of tiny raptors. Hopefully I’ll have some more animals and dinos by the end of this year! -

There’s more pictures of the biggest safari set which show that the bird has new printing with an orange beak, black head and tail, it looks great! I love the lion family too, tho I do think I still prefer the 4+ set for the lion colours and lesser impact on my wallet + storage space- 5,738 replies
