Looks very nice so far! -
I love it! I feel like this could be an interesting concept to build upon, but the model as it is is marvelous.

So now I have switched to a winch system, so the crane looks like a luffing crane but will soon be turned into a true harbour crane (as per my inspiration) with a full redesign of the boom. I also added the counterweight and redesigned the cabin. Everything is messy right now but bear with me please. That's all for now. Leave a comment!

Well, I am going to replace those wheels with actual cargo... because when the crane is lowered, it is tilted forward with tires but it technically shouldn't have cargo on it (so it would balance), and when the crane is raised it is tilted backward without cargo but it technically should have cargo (so it would balance). Not sure if this entirely makes sense but the point is I've found an intuitive point where balance is reached. Plus, I have now switched to a winch system of which I will post a picture soon.

Thanks! I still have 1 more idea; this set is extremely polyvalent. No need for outriggers. The base structure itself will not fall over or bend but the superstructure will tilt forward or backward with load. I do think I have an idea for a removable weight system that does not need tires though, which is to change the weight on the counterweight (which is not the BB) and I will also reinforce the attachment of the superstructure to the base.

Huge update: I finally found a place for the BB, and I added in the pneumatic mainframe. Finally, I added some more nice details. BTW The mainframe is in the upper house which will be connected to the counterweight eventually. These tires are the most important things on the entire crane. They act as a counterweight and are the only reason the whole crane isn't incredibly badly balanced. And now, detail time: I've added a path to the top of the base like in my inspiration. That's it for today. Have a great day everyone and leave a comment! BbBT

This is understandable. Liftability from the roof is a worthwhile feature.

@Nequmodiva today's update should clear things up as to how the crane is going to work. You can see in the below picture that the grey segment carries on and contains the attachment. Another note: the whole thing is now front heavy, so an actual counterweight is necessary. Also, I added lots of details. You can see the pneumatics connected to the cabin: The cab looks horrendous. I will rebuild it. Finally, the gear shift lever (1 on each side): That's all for day 5 of building. Thanks for watching!

Makes sense. My comment was somewhat irrelevant but my point was that Technic builds aren't generally well accepted like system builds are on LEGO Ideas.

Technic MOCs don't do well on lego ideas at all. Trust me, I've tried. Never mind, sorry.
