  1. It is and to be honest a redundant feature from a previous thought idea about what to build the vehicle into (extending cargo ‘truck’) but I kind of liked its strangeness so kept it which made it a ‘multi purpose vehicle 😅 Can’t post too much without pictures …
  2. Phew, ok I had a little time to unwind after posting my build for this contest. It was quite intense as I really didn’t know what to build, as in I had no clear direction. It also kind of finished on Father’s Day which made especially time sensitive but really I should of built faster and managed my time and ideas better 😅 Anyway thanks for your recent comments @Thirdwigg @2GodBDGlory and @Erik Leppen and Erick, I really hope your in the same mindset with your previous comment and available to vote on voting time 🙂 good luck to everyone at voting time there are plenty of great entries as always. Fun fun!!
  3. Multi Purpose Vehicle - Futuristic Vision Features Steering Suspension Extending chassis for loading 'stuff' 2 cylinder engine 4 wheel drive Adjustable steering wheel Rear crane Storage bins manual tipping tray Topic Link:
  4. Hey @CrazyKreations This is trailer camper is looking quite nice with all its complexity etc, but so you don't get disqualified on entry I would not use the Moldking stuff as no clone brands are permitted.
  5. I like this so far. The simulator on the back makes it very interesting Is that pictured plane final or will be updated for a scaled 'person' to be in the simulator?
  6. I hope an 80’s weird futuristic Anime vibe will start to show through... 3 completed pneumatic functions, but I have one spare usable switch and haven't decided on what to use it for yet. Cabin looks cosy with all those switches to operate and I replaced the pneumatic pump (one either side) for better design flow. more cabin design tweaks and finishes to come. The back is looking nice in my opinion just need a few more tweaks to the mudguard area and I'll need to put some 'thing' on the back. whether that takes the last pneumatic switch I'm not to sure yet. I'll need to work on my photo skills to get the lights to show up better...
  7. Can anyone spot the hidden pneumatic pump…😅 This was one of those late night ideas that seems stupid in the morning, but I actually like it now. This replaces the spring suspension and ‘hides’ the pump although I’ll see what blue fenders I have sometime to see if I can hide it better. I did this because my little grey pump was not working and leaking (covered in supaglue in pic below) and there’s really no room for a large pump without ruining the aesthetics…
  8. That suspension is like magic as I had never seen torsion suspension before 👍 then I worked out how it is operating of course 😅 Nice to see the progress it’s looking like a great start. Hope you can fit all those features in!!
  9. Nothing like a good ol’ name and theme change 😅 working on some aesthetics and some playable functions… yep I just slapped a crane on the back, how original… another function to be sorted and shown soon. Ditched the rear fenders for now. Not much room to load anything on the back right…
  10. I like how this ended up. The simple old style look works so well with the tyres that have a old and dated tread pattern, so I think you did well to fit the theme 👍 Im not too convinced by the chain for the steering connection, but it could grow on me.
  11. So I may have turned from duck hunter to ugly duckling… It’s not exactly reflecting what’s in my head but with a quick mockup this morning I think shaping could go ok 😅 Front steering and suspension worked out quick and nice with the caster angle maximising the use of the TC theme with twin wheels… hopefully more of the theme to come for the back of this thing…
  12. Don’t worry, it’s all in good fun and I enjoy this working out stuff 😁
  13. Ok admittedly you had me second guessing myself so I did some calculations 🤓 there is 1.45mm gap between each wheel and arch stud hole so this all fits ‘legally’ here are my workings out in case I still have it wrong 😅 wheels are 7.5 studs apart.
  14. My main reason for posting anything at this stage is because I checked everything for rubbing when zooming this about this morning🥸 the wheel’s definitely do not rub each other. It runs smooth as silk. To explain it another way, if the wheels flex backward when pushing vehicle forward, they both flex backwards, [somewhat] maintaining the fixed distance between themselves 😊 The arches are very close to one wheel more than the other but still I haven’t seen or detected/felt any rubbing.
  15. This will be quite a Frankenstein build not exactly referencing any vehicle, so who knows what disaster I can finish with. The theme is in the name but that might change so I'll just leave progress pictures and see where this ends up. Cramming as much in to a smallish space to leave enough room for other stuff later. mostly because I wanted to have two driven wheels under the one wheel arch (just fit) which meant 1/2 stud offsets everywhere and the strange (?) diff setup which also helps to keep things low. Only two cylinder engine which is adequate for scale and model if all goes to plan. there is some placeholder items in the below pics of course...
  16. Looks great 👍 I have a few unfinished tractors so this topic is good inspiration 🙂
  17. Actually that was my first consideration but thought that a military vehicle in a LEGO contest was inappropriate especially if LEGO sponsor the prizes as I think they do sometimes?? I will carry on with this build as it is exciting for me but I will build it with 2 M motors and a moldking battery box (which is why I can’t enter the contest with that battery box) and that will be much more playable and fun. Yes I thought that too but it’s not that enjoyable to play with. I’ll try it on a tracked version which might work better than a wheeled version and could be a good solution for all the manual tracked excavators etc…
  18. That was the idea 😅 The gearbox steering works by having a lower ratio gear and a higher ratio gear for either left or right side wheels at the same time (switched over by the wave selector) and then both sides are driving each other. (when in neutral both sides are disconnected from each other) this affectively turns (forces) the vehicle left or right depending on which side has the slower or faster turning wheels 😅 I feel like I’m crap at explaining stuff 😅 Anyway it’s a bulky solution for steering on a small fixed wheel vehicle that doesn’t work so well, so I might switch to another TC idea…as I usually do.
  19. I like this GBC way of representing the concrete! Makes the whole model way more playable 👍
  20. I’m not motorising, this will be a manual model. This will be manual model so it should have minimal torque…unless I let my 3 year old play with it…we shall see Is there a simpler way?? Am I missing something 😅
  21. No…see below 🙂 Ive thought about how to make this an interesting manual model considering there is no conventional steering. And I had an idea I was happy with. But I totally screwed up the steering gearbox and it doesn’t work 😅 I wanted to have have tank steering levers hooked up somehow to the red gear selectors so when the levers are pushed forward the vehicle will not be able to go backward and when the two levers are backwards the vehicle will not go forward. Same for left and right… anyway I got carried away forgetting my original thought so I’ll have to redesign what you see below. thought I would post that not all goes smoothly 😭 orange and white was supposed to represent electric motor 😝 External proportions are acceptable at the moment though…
  22. I realised I should stop building and take some photos before I get too far as time and enthusiasm has been permitting the last couple of days. Duck hunter will (hopefully) be like a 6 wheeled ATV with amphibious abilities (although unsure how to present amphibious abilities in a technic vehicle with holes everywhere) chassis going ok but haven’t thought about how to connect an engine yet. trying to use a ‘camouflaged’ (non primary coloured) pallet. Already I realise the shocks will have to be changed to harder springs. Trying to keep all the mechanics very low to allow for that amphibious boat hull look.
  23. Thanks @Jim I Need a good excuse to build something and something small is good 👍 (idea springs to mind straight away🙂)
