[LDD MOC] Azure Angel vs. Ginivex Starfighter

I thought this did have plate wings. Nope- it appears to be done with LDD2Pov-Ray. Great design and render, by the way. -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
hjmediastudios replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well, releasing him to American stores only would kind of fit, wouldn't it? All things considered, though, I think it'd be likely that armor would be an exclusive of some sort (maybe a Marvel Superheroes Visual Dictionary?). -

Lego Collectible Minifigures by Nationality
hjmediastudios replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Classifying all the sci-fi figs as being Britons seems a wee bit suspect... The classic alien seems more inspired by 50's American B movies than anything else, and the Alien Avenger, et al. don't have any nationality. Calling the Spaceman and his female companion Russian is also a stretch- there's not really any indication they're inspired by the characters you claim. And the sailor seems to me to be more British... American sailors tend to wear dark blue sailor suits or (on duty) a bizarre blue camouflage pattern. -

Well, who knows with this prank floating around? You could be a Czech for all I know. You should have done something easy-listening instead. I would suggest classical. -

The same could be set about all sorts of racist jokes, from the teller's standpoint. That's fighting talk. Which I would win, seeing as how Europeans always get Americans to do their fighting for them. -

Just because your member base is shifting to include more Americans, doesn't mean it's OK to belittle us. My own country's "member base" is shifting to include a much larger percentage of Hispanic folks. Does that make it OK to mock them? Or what about the influx of Muslims to Europe? Is it suddenly acceptable to whale on them? You're thinking of Seattle. -

Personally, I'm aware that this is a joke, but I'm not finding it very funny. It's one thing to joke about changing the name, but it's another to take it as an opportunity to dump out a metric tonne of anti-American stereotypes and blather. Why not joke about, say, AussieBricks, where children are forcibly separated from their parents into the 21st century and everyone has a proclivity for getting frisky with sheep? Or perhaps take some shots at Afribricks, where functioning government is a joke in and of itself, STDs are more prevalent than the common cold, and brutality and corruption are normal? Or even adapt Eurobricks to be more accurate, with a penchant for violence and genocide, Kafkaesque bureaucracy, and a habit of hiding behind the U.S. and whining about our foibles? Offensive stereotypes of groups and nations aren't really part of what I've come to enjoy about the Eurobricks experience. -

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
hjmediastudios replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think another thing to consider is that certain superheroes might lend themselves a lot better to TLG's plans than others. Iron Man, for instance, is relatively family-friendly and is all about building. Thor is safely in a fantasy real. Captain America is somewhat limited due to his nationalistic overtones (not a bad thing, but still a market consideration), and his rogues' galleries tend to be excessively repugnant figures- sadistic scientists, neo-Nazis, etc. that might not play well with TLG's target audience. Certain superheroes, like the Punisher or, to a more limited extent, Captain America again, might not work so well due to their realistic nature: it would be entirely possible for there to be an actual Punisher, and his actions would be upsetting to most parents. -

Personally, I'm a fan of Norse mythology. If TLG completely ignores it, my feelings will be a little thor... In all seriousness, though, they'd be stupid not to cash in on a film that will likely do very well at the box office. -
We're talking about a country that has slave camps, for God's sake. Asking if bricks are banned there is beside the point.

Not that I know of. It's still in stock where I'm at; they even got new shipments of it on Monday. -
My list of wants: 4-LOM and Zuckuss Blue Senate Guards (Episode I, II, or III) Chancellor Palpatine and his cronies (the morbidly obese Twi'lek fellow and the bald woman). Non-Clone Wars versions of all the Order 66 Jedi (Ki-Adi Mundi, Aayla Secura, etc.) More Episode III clones, preferably with an updated helmet and print.

I'm not really getting why it's called the Cavalry builder set... it's got one guy on a horse, and he isn't a soldier. The three actual soldiers seem to be two grunts and an artilleryman.

The AT-Te is 90 bucks US. My thoughts on each set: CW stuff- not my cup of tea, sorry. Corporate Alliance Tank Droid- Yes; I'll get two and give the spare Jango away. Homing spider droid- another twofer! Duel on Geonosis- Definitely. Jek-14: What the Fabuland is this? It's great as sci-fi, but it does not fit the Star Wars "look" at all. Bad move, Lego. Bad move. AT-TE: OK. I'll again get two and then mod them heavily to remove gaps. Nice figure selection, though. Republic Gunship: I'm in love. I'll definitely get one or two. Jabba's Sail Barge: After the getting the AOTC stuff, I can't afford this. Nice, but not excellent. If nothing else I might Bricklink Slave Leia and the aliens. -

I can't remember exactly where, but I think we've already got prices for most of the summer sets. -
Another charming digital creation- this time high-res renders of all the current and upcoming Iron Men from TLG, based off official figures. For fans, the shot on Flickr is suitable for an HD desktop, and an Iron Patriot one is forthcoming. As always, comments and criticism are more than welcome!
