  1. They have the LOTR summer sets at the Target near me, as well as some of the summer SW sets at a local Books-a-Million. I'm anticipating them to come out in a week or so more widely, as the delivery truck that serves BaM would likely also serve Target.
  2. I ordered ten new clone pilots off Cracklink, as well as a couple Captains. I also was surprised to find two Homing Spider Droid sets (but none of the other 2013 summer sets, which I found odd) at a local bookstore- priced at $25.00 each! Needless to say, I snapped those bad boys right up.
  3. Well... technically one isn't an Officer, per se. Nice job on snagging the LT, though! Fingers crossed that he'll be in a regular set sometime soon.
  4. Personally, I think the Clone Wars Geonosians work just fine as standard Geonosians- they're not really exaggeratedly cartoony and they have reasonably realistic printing.
  5. I just ordered a bunch of new EII clones of Bricklink- a dozen pilots, miscellaneous officers and NCOs, and a platoon or two of standard clones.
  6. For me it's really just that the films inspire me to build a particular vehicle or location, which in turn inspires me to maybe buy some more bricks. So it's not a direct link; if I've got the pieces I need already or I'm temporarily low on funds I'll put aside my inspiration.
  7. I agree with what's been said previously- the big problem for me is the lack of standard clones. I'm already going on a pre-summer Cracklink hit to get all the plain troopers (3 platoons, in fact) to fill the gunships and AT-TEs I anticipate getting.
  8. From an initial count, they must have bought approximately 110 of the new clone battlepacks... o_0.
  9. Lucky- where I live, there's piles of unsold Kaminos, but no Coruscants or Asteroid fields.
  10. Out of all the sets I have, my favorite is probably the Battle of Endor set. It has an unmatched value for its price. Second would have to be the new Geonosis clone battle pack- I adore the droidekas and the new clone design. Least favorite is probably the old Twin-Pod Cloud Car- I always regretted getting that instead of Ewok Attack. After that, it'd have to be the T-6 Jedi Shuttle (although I spell "Shuttle" a bit differently, it's so bad)- that thing had no redeeming value beyond the Shaak Ti minifig. (Speaking of which, we really need a non-CW version of her...)
  11. No. I believe the people I'm referring to were Belgian.
  12. I know some folks have already found the Duel on Geonosis set in standard retailers, so it's probably not an exclusive.
  13. Hey, I'd like one! Thanks. I've been a member for over two years now. I've easily got over 200 posts (I believe the exact number of posts is 266) Roughly 26-29% of my posts are in the Star Wars forum.
  14. That'd be the HH-87 Starhopper. I believe it's already available on the UK Lego Shop site.
  15. I think that was speculation, but it's not out of the realm of possibility that the LT could be used in a bigger promotion (i.e. buy $75 or more of sets, get a free junior officer).
  16. Yes- the armor is an original TLG design. I think the continuing problem with Cuusoo is that there's no sort of preliminary quality filter on entries beyond checking them for porn and spam. There's a glut of five-minute LDD-screenshot projects out there that crowd out other, more interesting projects. And the people who post what I've come to think of as "LDD spam" don't stop at one- usually such individuals pump out a stream of said projects.
  17. For independent contractors at least, it's actually very common to not care about degrees, etc. Most places only want to see past work.
  18. I based the armor design of the Space Marines off the Galaxy Patrol armor. It's not like I ripped off actual set/theme ideas; I was just reusing a piece. Actually, no- The Modular Western Town was first. All the previous ones were based off an existing vehicle or IP. Since then, however, we've seen more original designs make it to 10k- The Exo-Suit and Female Minifig Project, namely.
  19. Sounds cool! I hope whoever wants the job gets it!
  20. Essentially, Jango was just a sperm donor. He was a mercenary, and so he fought on the side of who was paying him. It's not like he had a deep relationship with any of the clone troopers.
  21. The only sites that I saw with that term after a cursory search seemed to be describing situations where things were primarily Lego-related- a childrens' camp, for instance, with a lot of Lego-related things. Using the term "non-Lego" simply seems to differentiate activities that don't use Lego.
  22. This is Hyperborea- our history is not necessarily identical to that of the fictional world I've cooked up. A big chunk of the backstory is imagining how history would be different if folks like Edison and Tesla collaborated instead of competing.
  23. The Illuminati have no dark master. ;)
  24. Yeah, other plans got in the way. It's up now, though; I didn't want to rush things and push out a half-baked idea.
