  1. I came up with this as a quick spin-off of my Friday Power Hour design for the "Dress My Exo-Suit" contest. A Marine vehicle of the late 21st century named after the famed general and later president known for his leadership during the African Crisis. Main shot: Back view: Cockpit: And the little dude I threw together for the project: This uses the unmodified basic frame of the exo-suit as provided by the contest and adds armor plating, sensors, and comfortably fits a crew of one specially-trained warrant officer. I'll be posting more views as well as the actual contest entry (modified to fit a classic theme) tomorrow.
  2. Here are a couple quick designs I whipped up, more in line with a 1700s-1800s look than the 1600s look that seems to be prevailing here. I may do the harbormaster if there's interest.
  3. The closest you'll come is the TOR sets- the Republic vs. Sith battle pack, the Defender cruiser, the Sith Fury interceptor, and the Republic swing-wing starfighter whose name escapes me. TLG has never released any KOTOR sets beyond the single Revan minifig-only polybag.
  4. Obviously, the AT-AP and the new Kashyyyk battle pack would be good for the figures and vehicles. However, there's also a couple other non Star Wars sets that might be a good bet for scenery/Wookiee constructions. The two that spring to mind immediately are the Hobbit Warg attack set (not sure what the exact name is; the one with the tree) and the Goblin King set. Both have a lot of interesting parts in various shades of brown that would do quite nicely for a ramshackle Wookiee outpost, or simply some background scenery.
  5. Even the regular stormtroopers weren't completely shiny. Most of the close-up shots, especially aboard the Tantive IV, show the troopers' armor as being somewhat scuffed, dinged, and otherwise used. Sort of similar to the difference between a shiny new car and one that's been used for a while- even when the latter is cleaned, it'll still show signs of wear. and it certainly won't look CGI-perfect.
  6. This is clever; I've never thought of using LDD as a game/puzzle program before!
  7. I'm liking the looks of this wave so far. I don't really get the hate for Rebels sets, anyway- I have the Phantom and the Ghost already and they both blend well with my OT collection. I am somewhat curious about the Geonosis Troopers set, though; I'm not sure if has to be a prequel or CW era set- it's well within the realm of possibility that the Rebels show will visit Geonosis. Although that's probably just wishful thinking; I'd love to see some "Force Unleashed" style EVO troopers in Rebels style.
  8. For me 8038 is superior not so much due to any one detail; it just captures the "feel" of the AT-ST better. The 2007 version seems oversized and too blocky, even though I like the leg assembly a bit more. 8038's AT-ST has the head angling that, while probably exaggerated, really helps sell the feel of it to me.
  9. You can find the 8038 AT-ST fpr a decent price on eBay or Bricklink, although the cheapest I've seen them going for is about $25 each.
  10. Nope; it''s an X-wing- the two laser cannons on the side give it away. I believe that, like the original McQuarrie art, each engine is hemispherical.
  11. I'm not sure they'd release the ones in the ISD in a battle pack, but I would put money on us seeing a Rebels-themed "Imperial Battle Pack" with two of the new stormtroopers from the Ghost, probably in the upcoming winter wave.
  12. "I am not a Sir, I am your Staff Sergeant!" Yep. That's accurate. I'm loving this whole series, although the stormtroopers should probably have shorter hair.
  13. I believe that's more because of the lighting, though. All indications are that the original costumes had white armor over a gray jumpsuit.
  14. ... And they pop up again. The Iron Man designs from the seller are actually my designs that I had made available for free personal use, and the knock-off manufacturer Decool has been stealing and selling the designs on their figures. I have yet to trace this to the source- if anyone has information on where these seem to be shipped from (i.e. are they all coming from one person or address), I'd greatly appreciate the help in tracking whoever's behind this down.
  15. +1 vriverajr3- awesome prices, fast shipping, friendly service. I could not be happier.
  16. Oddly, the latest minifig-scale X-wing seems to get this right, while the UCS one is apparently wrong.
  17. To be fair, though, Boba Fett's "theme" is essentially a few bars of a gurgly bassoon tune... not really as nice a thematic sound as Duel of the Fates.
  18. I believe the warning is just a note for assembly purposes- in many cases, there's not really a way to do some of the subsequent steps if you leave the missile in.
  19. I strenuously disagree. For me, the return of decent faces that can be mixed-and-matched with the rest of my collection is a welcome change.
  20. All the winter 2014 sets were available in my local (Iowa) Walmart today, with the exception of the exclusives. For once, they made a timely arrival- usually, I have to wait almost a month.
  21. According to the Rebels panel, they seem to be the pilots of the new AT-DP walker. We'll likely see a Rebels-themed AT-DP set with one or two of these guys in it.
  22. I recall reading in some promo text for retailers that "Ezra Bridger" is an ex-Imperial cadet. That would explain the helmet. Also, isn't the Rebels series set shortly before A New Hope? All of the original clone troopers would be either dead or elderly thanks to their accelerated aging by then.
  23. Really? I always that it was "say-loo-sawm-i." Nevertheless, I'm surprised it's only $15. With the figure lineup, I was expecting $20 at least.
  24. Looks like a Death Star trooper and an "Imperial [unreadable] trooper." Probably a technician or pilot of some sort.
  25. I'm pretty sure this means the Phantom fits into the Ghost, as when comparing the reference images of the Ghost with the set, it seems there's a significant gap between the rear engines, where the fighter slots in, on the set. It also might explain the design of the Phantom. Unfortunately, this also probably means the rear interior of the Ghost is just space to fit the Phantom's cockpit, and we won't get much of an interior like the 7965 Falcon, just two (hopefully spacious) cockpits.
