Woah? 80? Where? -
Also 9398 will be gone sooner than 42009 - it may happen that you will be able to get this set e.g. later this year.

I have gifted myself 8455 and 8275. December was good for my Lego collection - but bad for my wallet :P

You will surely stay with us for a while - and spend another couple of thousands pounds on bricks ;). For me the best studless building experience was 8258 Crane Truck. But if you want something really complicated you should go for Andrea Grazi's Tow Truck (you can find the instructions in 5571 review thread). It uses mainly old style bricks (motors, studded beams etc) so with your collection you will have easier start in process of gathering parts.

It depends on whether you want to play with it or not. 8043 is more fun to play and you get a full set of PF elements to motorize your other sets (e.g. make ultimate 42009). 8258 on the other hand is less fun to play with but to me it gives a better building experience (awesome gearbox!) and looks way better (yes sir! best looking Technic set ever!). Of course it would be best to have them both - but if I had to choose one I would go for 8258. Funny thing is that 8258 was the set that brought me from my dark ages ;) I beg to differ - 8258 looks complete and full whereas 8285 looks like an empty shell if viewed from less than 2 meters ;). Blah, I am spoiled - I used to like 8285 and then I got 5571 - 8285 looks like a joke standing next to the Black Cat

OMG they do some serious magic! (e.g. http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=246882, http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=219773)

No, in case of set 31313 - EV3 Home Edition you do not have to do any programming in order to control robots built from official instruction. There are applications for iOS and android that have predefined functionality - so you just turn it on and have fun. But in a modern world it is good to know at least basics of programming ;) - and EV3 offers a painless start.

I think it would be nice to have one place to share the information about good deals found on eBay, in online stores, in regular stores etc. Let me start with: [uSED] [AUCTION] Big Technic collection: http://www.ebay.de/itm/141132326757?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648

I got an email from Lego Education's Senior Territory Manager for Europe - he asked me for receipt and my address so they could send me batteries (yay!) - but unfortunately I do not have the receipt, as I was buying those sets from private person :(. I told him that the best I can do to prove that I am in possession of two EV3 45544 sets is to send him (via conventional mail) the notices that were present in the boxes (those explaining the lack of battery). He then replied that this is not good (aww!) - and he needs up to 1 week to figure something out for me.

I will post a picture as soon as it is delivered to me :). I recommend buying on ebay.de - there are lots of nicely customized models e.g. 5571 I have mentioned. I have also bought there the10220 VW Camper in tan instead of red (with chrome parts). Update: 8455 for 66.5 Euro (used, with box and instructions) -

€161 for 5571 (no box, original instructions) with chrome 68.8x24 wheels and additional parts that cover majority of studs. I am pretty happy with that purchase :) -
Here someone sells white version of 5571: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Lego-Model-Team-5571-White-Cat-Truck-Sammler-Unikat-einmalig/171190190819?rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D287%26meid%3D3265536479812452037%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D1073%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D171190202690%26

I bought a new 8110 without a box/all bags sealed (for my sister - a new Technic fan ) for $167 - which seems to be a good price.
