Some guys claimed that it is slightly thicker than the standard rope. But I can't confirm that.

I got used 8285 on German ebay for 90 Euro. There are still some sets left for around 100 Euro. Is that a decent price for you?

This makes me sick. I was told by Support that I am not getting my set while those people get tons of them... :/

I emailed then with question when will my 41999 ordered on the 9th of August be delivered - and they replied that it will not, as they are out of stock.

I will add 9396 to this list with it's retractable landing gear - pretty clever idea.

I thought about it a little more and honestly Billy is not so much for "show-off" display (surely not as much as glass-only cabinets) but the sets are visible and what is more important (at least for me) they do not get covered with dust.

Problems with 8110!?

I just took my 8110 off the shelf and I am rebuilding crane/claw into plow - I must say it is way more interesting and unconventional (we've had a lot of cranes and claws already). I just need more gray panels to cover the naked back of the truck :) -

You should build them! And then you should look for 8043 and 8258 - awesome building experience! And regarding Ikea - go for http://www.ikea.com/...ing_room/11683/ - I use 80cm bookcases with glass doors.

You can check your motors with standard 9V battery (to see if it is Battery Box issue). Here is the description how you have to connect the battery (GND 0V and 9V) to the motor: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/168223 Of course you do not have to build the adapter - just take 2 wires and attach them as described.

I have found this clever creation (by aeh5040) on youtube: It is not new (video added in 2011) but I haven't seen it before. This is so unconventional MOC!

I think that would mess the "exclusiveness" of this set and would depreciate the effort people put in getting it - e.g myself. I have stayed up till late night hours on 31st of July, I almost killed my F5 (refresh) key, then I had to struggle with customer support in order to get the info If I will get the set in the end or not. And that would be only for the box? Sorry, I don't think I like this idea. If 41999 was announced to be "limited and exclusive" (in terms of parts etc.) then I think it should stay this way. But that's just me...
