  1. I think the minifigs were supposed to be timeless and thus interchangeable between scenarios, which is also why they never used short legs, even well after their introduction in 2002. Just look at the 2010/2011 sets: with a few exceptions, they’re not based on a single movie, often including elements from multiple ones (CoS Hogwarts Express scene + HBP Luna in the same set anyone?). Also, screen accuracy was apparently far less important than in the reboot
  2. So was I, and I‘ve also switched sides immediatedly after having seen the leaks They would‘ve had to exclude A LOT of stuff to fit Gringotts in there or increase the price by quite a bit. This will undoubtedly sell out within a few hours, mark my words
  3. Which all goes back to the same unreliable attention-grabby source We did have names, the list they were part of was first posted more than a year ago:
  4. These are the exact same three sets that were on the cancelled 2020 set list I think someone stumbled upon that list and is now trying to pass it as their own „leak“
  5. Can we please wait for a reputable leaker to confirm this alleged set before discussing it further? I don‘t trust lego_fake_news unless another source corrobrates their „info“
  6. Hasn‘t that „rumour“ been shot down already? Lego_fans_news is really starting to get on my nerves They repost anything they find without giving credit and don’t even check if what they’re posting has been debunked already. They also just reheated the list of cancelled Overwatch sets
  7. Okay then, the Tri-Wizard Cup has definitely appeared each year in the reboot (CMF S1, Rise of Voldy, 2020 Advent Calendar) while the Goblet of Fire is debatable I thought the cup in the microscale RoR was just a random trinket, I mean why would the GoF even be there? The Diadem at least was hidden in there on purpose
  8. Don’t you mean the Tri-Wizard Cup? Unless the GoF is hidden somewhere within the Room of Requirement in the microscale Hogwarts Does the “The Boy who Lived” newspaper count? That one appears in quite a lot of sets
  9. Happy birthday @Modal! Speaking of Ginny: Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that after lamenting the lack of Weasleys for two years we’re now being bombarded with them? 3 Ginnys, 2 Freds, 2 Georges, 2 Mollys and 1 Arthur in the same year is really impressive! I hope they do the same thing next year with something else that has been sorely lacking thus far
  10. Of course it doesn‘t show up in the top 5 list, how is a theme with 6-7 sets a year supposed to compete with themes that encompass 20+ yearly sets? Even if every HP set manages to outsell, say every single Ninjago set, the latter will still prevail just based on sheer set numbers alone Their metric is total sales, not relative sales. If it was the latter, HP might crack the top 5 easily, perhaps the top 3 even
  11. Yeah, no matter how much we’d all want the Penguin or Catwoman, the minifigs most likely won’t be based on anything but the original Batman. My minifig choices would thus be Beret Joker, Batsy, and of course, the one and only, Bob „Number One Guy“ the Goon We even already have a suitable hat/hair combo piece for him:
  12. That would only make sense if a set gets postponed We‘ve had early leaks before (e.g. last year, when Trudgen‘s head leaked along with the first wave of TROS sets in July while the sets the minifig belonged to was released in January), but not THIS early. I don‘t think they’ll suddenly start to release HP sets in 1HY either, so it has to be from an unknown polybag or GWP set We would‘ve heard about it if that was the case because they wouldn‘t be exclusives and thus retailers would have known about them Besides, the only year so far to get an additional wave was 2019, presumably to make up for the lack of a CMF series and a D2C
  13. Convention exclusives are exempt from that rule, as stated in the original announcement And even if they wanted to, they couldn’t just sell the Bespin Duel set worldwide because it was produced in a limited capacity. Based on what we know about the production cycle, the set was already firmly in production when the conventions were cancelled, so different packaging is pretty much all they could do at that point
  14. Looks legit to me I wonder why there weren’t any rumours though... Sure, we’ve only just recently learned about this years Winter Village set and the Collosseum, but at least we knew about their set numbers beforehand! This one completely comes out of the blue, even more so than the NES which we at least had heard some VERY vague rumours about. If this is real, it might help explain why we got less regular sets this year compared to Marvel, just to balance things out between them I guess. Two D2Cs in the span of a year plus a CMF is worth replacing multiple regular sets in my book Personally, I’m hoping for two things with this: A display stand, otherwise this is gonna be a nightmare to display Some minifigs from Batman Returns
  15. There are some nanofigs on the topmost floor of WWW, so maybe there’s one hidden up there? Not counting on it, but it would be hilarious if they did that.
  16. Has anyone else noticed how similar Lockhart’s new face is to the original one, with the necessary updates of course? Raised eye-brow, prominent cheek lines, open-mouth smile with visible perly whites
  17. @chris6507: You’re right, I must’ve overlooked it Makes a lot more sense this way
  18. The „feel free to test-fly any of our brooms“ sign is a print, right? Can‘t remember seeing it on any of the sticker sheets... If so, funny that they printed that one instead of something more deserving like the cover on Lockharts books or some of the store signs
  19. My Iron Man copies were all ok, but something similar happened to me with the Sith set, where the small Vader motive was missing one dark blue stud (as you say, easily replacable, but still curious). Maybe the amount of 1x1 round plates (or tiles) per bag may vary ever-so-slightly? Is there a specific reason you use the studs instead of the 2x4 tile? Or is that a hypothetical?
  20. I think I‘m in love The amount of details is just astounding The moulded wand boxes are a welcome surprise too. I wonder if they‘ve designed that mould with an additional purpose in mind outside of HP, e.g. as greebling on SW UCS models. Lockhart‘s face print looks very good, but I hope he‘s got an alternative facial expression too as this one is a tad too sinister for his DA appearance
  21. Well, the German version of the announcement makes it seem like the set is going to be released on the same day (31st of August). Never thought we‘d see the day where a LEGO set would be released on the same day as it‘s announced
  22. I knew it! That‘s why TLG has been trying to get into the microscope and nanotech businesses lately! It‘s all coming together... We have to make this public before it‘s too late! So James and Oliver are going to roast the designers with our questions? That‘s going to be amazing! Now I wish I would‘ve put more effort into mine
  23. That‘s fake, the real one will be microscale Seriously though, that picture is fake because it‘s just a cutout of the boxart. Notice how the minifigs that walk on the street on the box are all curiously missing here
  24. Let’s face it, it‘s going to be microscale. TLG will completely ruin this theme by forcing their secret microscale agenda down our throats
  25. Not only that, we don’t even know most of their names So they‘re basically random civilians as well. I agree with @Vindicare, these 8 characters are very relevant to this set. A couple of random shoppers would have been a nice addition, no doubt, but if you think they are more important or deserving of a spot than Lucius Malfoy, Gilderoy Lockhart, or Molly Weasley, then you have quite peculiar preferences That‘s like filling the Hogwarts sets with random students or unnamed teachers
