Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don‘t think there‘s enough space for the DADA classroom AND the dueling club though. Sure, Justin‘s presence in the set is a bit suspicious, but if the two are both integrated into that set, that would mean we wouldn‘t get Lockhart‘s dueling club outfit. Like, ever I wouldn‘t lose sleep over that, but it‘d still be a bit annoying -

Correction, between 50 and 70, depending on the character -

Well, the reason I wouldn‘t buy this set is not because I dislike minidolls or anything. I bought all of the TLM2 sets and the minidolls in those sets are among my favourites from that theme, especially the glitter vampires. My reasoning is that I‘m a completionist (sort of). If I collect a theme, I have to get every single set in there (hyperexpensive convention exclusives being the sole exception). So if I‘d buy that set, I‘d feel compelled to get the rest of theme too and that‘s just too much of a hassle at this point (and display space is another significant issue). If it‘s minifig-based, it‘d be part of the non-Princess Disney theme like the 2016 Castle in my eyes, completely justifying a purchase Of course I realise I could just ignore the rest of the theme, but I‘m stubborn like that -

So do I. The smallest one is most likely the flying lesson one, which sounds neat, especially if comes with a new Remembrall. The other two are complete wildcards... Personally, I hope the bigger one is Hagrid‘s hut (PS version) with Norberta and Fang. No idea what the smaller one could be, but I assume another PS/CoS set as well. Duelling club? -

Keep in mind that none of this is confirmed yet, but at least it sounds plausible Makes me wonder if any of those two are supposed to be „shocking“, because so far nothing has truly managed to shock any of us I presume. Maybe it‘s the opposite of a self-fulfilling prophecy and by warning us, FalconFan prevented us from being surprised by any of this -

I don‘t speak for him of course, but as long as he doesn‘t get permission from his source, I think he won‘t publically confirm or deny anything Our best chance is if someone else leaks the entire list (like promobricks) or if the names appear on a retailer‘s website Oh yes, they would: https://brickset.com/sets/852293-1/Castle-Giant-Chess-Set Granted, that one was „only“ $200, but that same set would easily cost at least $250 nowadays due to inflation and all that -

According to promobricks, the 4 unknown regular sets are also scheduled for June, but we assume that‘s just an error on their part. The smallest one is assumed to be a set based on the flying lesson scene, based on a leaked Hooch minifig. @KA1 recently claimed that the D2C set is most likely based on the chess scene in PS and that the 120€ set is a brick-built sculpture, which both sound plausible. -

Aren‘t there still two left, the 30€ one scheduled for October and the 230€ D2C set? The 66 set turned out to have a completely different set number, didn‘t it? -

At that price point, it‘d better be playable So I assume this is what your source told you a couple of weeks ago? If so, quite a lot of people got it right then. Not a bad set idea, but the minifig selection will be extremely boring since it‘s essentially the same as in the Fluffy set, maybe with an added Quirrell or something (or perhaps the golden one). Not really all that exciting, but it could be worse I guess -

I certainly hope not, I have no space to display something like that No surprise there if that‘s the case. The PPR is way too good for a minifig-scale set after all -

Say what you will about the (prelim) builds themselves, but the minifigs and beasts included in the June wave are shaping up to be excellent At this point, I‘m not even that mad at the lack of DH sets anymore. -

To me, minifigs would make a lot more sense business-wise. If it included minidolls, the set would mostly be bought by rich parents as you point out or by adult fans who don‘t mind minidolls. If it instead featured minifigs, you could broaden the demographic by quite a wide margin Customers that don‘t like minifigs but still want a giant Frozen castle could simply inhabit it with the minidolls from their collection. This wouldn‘t work the other way round as you can‘t fill a castle with just two minifigs -

I have to agree with you here. In my eyes, SW is the only licensed theme that has nothing to gain from a CMF series. Sure, dual-moulded arms and legs are still a rarity in this theme, but the amount of exclusives moulds your average CMF series usually receives is already pretty much on par with the regular sets. Ok, not in this year‘s content so far, but that‘s beside the point I wouldn‘t be violently opposed to that idea, but I‘d rather see Disney S3, HP S3, Marvel S2, DC S2, or Looney Tunes S2 instead. Or an entirely new IP, as long as it‘s interesting -

Probably just a generic unmasked Death Eater Quite impressive to see how short our list of missing characters has become @deskp: No love for Yaxley or the polyjuiced ministry employees? -

I'd usually agree with you, but there have been exceptions to that rule of thumb. The Trolls sets for instance also had set numbers usually reserved for minidoll themes I just have a hard time picturing a D2C set with minidolls and I'd be surprised if they didn't at least discuss the option to go with minifigs instead during the design process. One thing's for sure though: no minifigs, no money from me -

Colour me surprised, can‘t say I saw that one coming As a D2C set, it pretty much has to come with minifigs rather than minidolls, right? -

Figured as much Your opinion would certainly have been less lukewarm if something like that was coming. I thus feel confident in expecting more PS/CoS stuff, mixed with a brick-built creature or two and at least one set that defies expectations completely (because so far, nothing has managed to truly "shock" me). Of course, more PS/CoS stuff is hardly exciting considering how well these two instalments have been covered already, so my hope is that after these two waves, they finally run out of material so they can focus on more interesting stuff again next year OotP and DH need more love (or any, in the latter case) -

I share that feeling, doesn’t sound believable for more than one reason. “Multiple buildings” would only work if they were similar in scale and detail to Privet Drive or Hogsmeade. What could they even release for $250 that fits that description? New moulds in D2C sets have thankfully become more common, but whenever a set introduces more than one it’s usually out of necessity. Again, can’t think of anything that would fit here 75098 is a weird set to be compared to. Not sure what the HP equivalent to that would even be like, an „ultimate Hogwarts“ set for instance would just be laughable at that price point -

You’re welcome *Goldfinger has entered the chat* I’m ok with them only having one-sided face prints, they’re mostly intended as a collectible anyway -

The "moulded vs brick-built creatures" discussion is always funny to me *TLG release moulded dinosaurs* "That looks like Playmobil, give us brick-built stuff!" *TLG release brick-built dragons* "That looks blocky and rubbish, give us unique moulds!" *TLG release hybrids* "Thanks, I hate it." -

It's only a waste if that budget theoretically could have gone to something else instead. My point is, if the budget was increased specifically so they could go all out on these golden figures, there's nothing to complain about really Besides, are there really any glaring omissions in these two waves they could've spent that part of the budget on anyway? -

That would only be a valid point under the assumption that the budget remained constant. What if TLG increased the budget for the theme just for the anniversary? As long as we don't know that (am I wager we'll never find out), this is a moot point -
