Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Marvel has had two leaks thus far, though the second one (Shuri) isn’t public yet. Ninjago however is noticably absent. The beginning of the leak season is usually dominated by it, but this time there have been surprisingly few leaks I’m also perplexed that no animal moulds have leaked yet, neither for HP nor City (unless you count the pixie). These are usually among the early ones as well -

Why are people surprised by the hair colour? Her hair was also dark tan in the Moments set Agreed Or a proper Sinestra leak -

Great looking minifig, and they’re using exactly the hairpiece I hoped they would -

Hasn’t that been ruled out already? I mean Hooch being included wouldn’t make sense if that set really was a Remembrall -

Harry is often criticised for being boring, which happens with a lot of novel protagonists, with the reader supposed to project themselves into the character and all that. Superheroes shared the same fate in their early days. Personally, I’ve always liked him, but not as much as other characters As a psychologist, this irks me every time it‘s brought up. The Myers-Briggs “test” is neither objective, nor reliable, let alone valid and is essentially on the same level as bloody horoscopes. Non-dimensional personality typologies are rubbish anyway and yes, that includes the Hogwarts house test *mini-rant over* -

I know, which is why I explicitly said "7 years" And the new DS was basically just an updated version to almost immediately replace its precursor, which hasn't happened with any other D2C set yet -

Only when they're not at the expense of DH sets I'm afraid that non-playset nonsense will take up multiple spots next year as well, so the precious few normal sets we'll have will hopefully be dedicated to DH. -

Correct, if it weren‘t for the harp that‘s included in the set Meh. Nothing that couldn‘t be accomplished in other sets as well, except for spirit Voldy which is basically just a floating ghost face -

Sure, I meant why these two in particular The 66 Batmobile makes sense, but we‘ve already had a Tumbler in 2014. Not even the SW team dares to remake a D2C set after only 7 years -

Except these versions should also be included in the Fluffy set, they‘re wearing the exact same outfits during the whole climax after all Unless TLG decided to throw screen-accuracy out the window along with their common sense -

That‘s what I‘m saying, anything beyond the trio plus a golden anniversary figure wouldn‘t make any sense. Even Quirrell would be a stretch Yes, the bane of every completionist -

The chess set has ZERO potential for interesting minifigs (if it even includes any), which is why it stands no chance to enter my top 3. Top 5 maybe -

Mine are: The Chamber of Secrets: The Basilisk, Pixie(s), Sinestra, and Lockhart are enough to put this set in the top spot Hogsmeade: Best build by far, but the minifig selection is pretty boring, even with 3 brand-new characters Polyjuice potion: Not much to write home about build-wise, but Crabbe & Goyle (sort of) + Cat!Hermione are excellent additions -

Trust is easier broken than earned It‘s not like I‘m not willing to forgive them, but that won‘t happen before we see the set list for next summer -

Maybe. Either way, they have to earn my trust back The new Tom looks good! And they even gave him a new faceprint As much as the other wave blows, at least they‘re going all-in with this one -

Why couldn’t they have rebooted the theme back in 2016 or 17 instead, then they would’ve ticked DH off before going completely insane As much as I hope for a return to form next year, I’m not confident. Can’t wait for a bunch of inferior PoA remakes, buildable werewolf and shrunken head This wave just completely broke the trust I had in the design team. Shame -

Not to veer too far off-topic, but again, it’s the set choices that were terrible IMO. Every single set except for the Mando one was a remake and we only got one new character out of the entire wave, no new moulds, no battle packs, NADA. At least the summer wave appears to make up for that Speaking of SW: that theme also diversified with the yearly buildable characters and helmet sets, HOWEVER, in that case, they don’t make up half of the bloody line-up -

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this has to be the worst wave of sets ever released for any licensed theme. This makes the Jan 21 SW wave look bloody impressive! Of course the actual builds may still be decent, but the choices are just unfathomably nonsensical. Now I get why Guyon said the quality doesn’t even matter -

I can’t believe we were actually right with a lot of our purposefully stupid set ideas I lowered my expectations to the point I was actually looking forward to additional anniversary sets, but turns out even that wasn’t low enough I’m utterly disappointed in the design team. I sincerely hope they get their **** together and don’t continue with that nonsense next year -

Next year. ...maybe Looks like it. So at this point the entire wave has to be brick-built nonsense, so we need to figure out what they can release for that price...
