  1. Plot twist: you don’t own a hat Seriously though, there’s no way Gringotts gets released this year. Bessa’s reaction does imply a set’s on the way, but maybe he seemed excited because he’s working on the model right now
  2. As has been pointed out before, the anniversary minifigs should be regarded as a bonus. These sets would still have decent minifig counts even if you completely removed them and for most of the sets, other minifigs wouldn't even make much sense (especially the two smaller ones). And the budget has obviously been increased, if the sheer number of sets coming out this year is any indication
  3. Lemme guess, the Moments sets?
  4. Agreed. They did it with three bigfigs before and those only worked because all of them had bulky masks. Just a head alone wouldn’t work
  5. The stars are obviously an anniversary thing, probably to spice things up a bit
  6. Factory leaks; some people grab minifig parts off conveyer belts or off the floor, sneak them out of the factory and then proceed to sell them
  7. The Monster Fighter sets were released after the first Avengers wave, so it was designed with Mjolnir in mind
  8. Not really, but I wouldn’t mind minifigs of Two-Face, Riddler, Poison Ivy, and Ahnold
  9. I’m pretty much in the same boat here All I ever wanted out of this theme has basically been done already, the only exception being more sets based on the Burton, Schumacher, and Nolan films. I hope the DC theme continues, but I wouldn’t be sad if the output stayed on the level it’s at right now *intense feeling of being cosmically death glared*
  10. I wouldn’t rule it out. It makes sense not to overlap the announcements of new themes, so that nothing distracts from them. However, for individual sets or waves of already firmly established themes, there shouldn’t be any major issues
  11. https://brickset.com/article/58449/first-information-about-ucs-republic-gunship! That thing will be massive
  12. Meh, I’m fine with the brick-built version. I’d rather they spend their (increased?) budget on new minifig moulds
  13. At $150, the set should be detailed enough to sell well on its own If a UCS Star Destroyer can be sold at $700 with 2 less than spectacular minifigs, a $150 Benatar with most of the crew included should do fine
  14. As far as I recall, none of the SDCC sets (or other convention exclusives for that matter) have ever leaked beforehand. Each time, we only learned about them the day they were revealed, which was usually shortly before the convention itself. Besides, we don’t know if there’s even going to be exclusives this year to begin with. Sure, there were the usual exclusives last year, but they were already in (pre-) production when Covid hit the scene, which is why they had to sell them on s@h instead. I doubt they’re doing that again this year
  15. Now I wonder if Korg will wear his Hawaii shirt. On the one hand, it’d be scene-accurate and when would we ever get that otherwise, but on the other hand, imagine this version being our only Korg
  16. The Snyder cut is R-rated We would‘ve known about that for months These three sets sold terribly
  17. So then we might get a set based on New Asgard after all? That would explain Korg, the other Thor, and the "funny set" hint by FalconFan
  18. It‘s the Internet, sarcasm is sometimes hard to detect
  19. Might want to temper your expectations there, we‘re lucky if even ONE of the June sets gets revealed Anything beyond that is incredibly unlikely
  20. There‘s still a chance they might officially reveal one of the June sets Last year, they suddenly revealed the 501st CT set on April 1st, a full 4 months before its release, so a reveal 2.5 months ahead wouldn‘t be that much of a stretch
  21. They are, well, sort of. Misprints, prototypes, and parts in unusual colours are official in that they were produced by TLG, but not officially “official” as in “permitted by TLG to be released in sets or sold separately” You may remember the oddly-coloured SW blasters two years ago, fun times
  22. Not sure that’s the case this time. He posted pictures of the Draco hairpiece in pearl gold at the beginning of January, so way too soon for a set that’s supposedly going to be released in August
  23. Exactly. And there’s yet another difference: the Ninjago and Star Wars anniversary sets were / are basically normal sets with special boxart and added minifigs. The HP sets commit way more to the anniversary idea by having the sets themselves be throwbacks too, style-wise. I wouldn’t mind too much if we still had our regular wave, but NO, it had to be TWO anniversary waves
