LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Lies! Deception! The guy with an obvious hate b*ner for TLG lied to sic his obnoxious fanbase on them? I‘m flabbergasted, I tell you Glad to hear that BPs aren‘t dead yet Let‘s hope they return next winter in full force! They already do, no need for a BP unless it includes something interesting like a new variant or a super tactical droid -

My copy of 21171 included a spare trident Not sure if that’s supposed to happen, strikes me as a very odd spare part. I need to open 21173 as well to confirm -

I‘ve been looking through some old pictures and screenshots on my phone and I‘ve noticed that last year‘s 2HY range was leaked on June 1st (a lot earlier than I remembered) Any chance something similar might happen this year or was that just an outlier? After all, consumer catalogues very rarely contain images that haven‘t already leaked or been officially revealed -

No, but Harry isn‘t necessarily guaranteed. For all we know, the polybag could contain a golden minifig -

But they wouldn‘t have received a higher budget in the first place if it weren‘t for the anniversary figures, so that‘s a moot point -

I think that‘s pretty self-evident, isn‘t it? There hasn‘t been a dip in quality for any of these themes in terms of prints and moulds during their respective anniversary years, so why would Marvel be any different? Unless you subscribe to silly conspiracy theories that TLG secretly hates Marvel and DC or something -

If there was a GWP set, we would‘ve heard about it by now. They‘re probably just referring to the two Brickheadz sets and/or the accessory pack Or maybe the polybag if we‘re lucky, but that one is still scheduled for August -

I wish I could display this beast on top of my display cabinets, but it‘s way too tall for that Removing the antenna is not really an option for my purist tastes, so onto the floor it goes, sharing its fate with the Disney Castle and Orthanc -

I was under the impression a golden minifig (Dumbledoro or Dragold) was all we could hope for, but this sounds intriguing Expecting any new characters would be silly, so I’d be satisfied with some interesting new variants at least -

@Kim-Kwang-Seok: Has someone hacked into your account or something? @Graupensuppe: Some of the characters on that list definitely deserve minifigs, others certainly less so. Who on Earth cares enough about Sio Bibble or Sleazebeggano to warrant minifigs? Granted, that death stick interaction is funny, but not enough to justify a minifig -

There, FTFY I loved the Adventurers theme back in the day, but it hasn‘t aged all that well, like a lot of sets from that era. And calling it ‚original‘ is pretty funny considering what inspired it -

The comparison was more on a conceptual level I think, not visually At that price point, I expect larger and/or more detailed builds -

Trust me, I‘ve made LEGO-related decisions that would put this to shame *stares at full gallery of Art sets* Just speaking for myself here, but being single with lots of disposable income and not that many other hobbies certainly helps -

Saw and TROS Palpy being missing still boggles my mind, but at least we have an explanation for Vos‘ absence. It hasn‘t been outright confirmed, but I think the helmetless Hybolon enforcer head mould was initially intended for Vos. After the recast (and subsequent redesign) of the character, the mould was kept and used for his lackeys instead, even though they were never seen without their helmets …well, that would explain his absence in the Solo sets, but not why he hasn‘t been released in an AC or polybag instead. Anyway, him getting a character model in the final season of TCW gives me hope he might show up in the Bad Batch, so if we‘re lucky we may get a minifig of his that way. Same goes for Saw of course -

I know, it was just an example because some people keep sets sealed in hopes for the value to skyrocket one day, which isn‘t realistic nowadays That‘s the spirit -
DC Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
No matter what you think of the Snyderverse, it can hardly be denied that it is responsible for the state the DC theme is in right now. If the DCEU was as popular as the MCU, not only would „filler“ waves be easier to do, they could get a lot more creative with their set choices without it being a huge gamble. Just look at Marvel: without the MCU, we never EVER would have gotten sets based on Shang-Chi, the Eternals, or the GotG. Heck, even Ant-man would have been too obscure Comic fans may not like to hear it, but people mainly care about comic book characters thanks to the adaptations. A shared universe isn‘t a necessity, but a solid catalogue of films would definitely help. I have a feeling The Batman, Flash, Aquaman 2, and Black Adam could provide just that, so we need to be patient. Don‘t write the theme off yet -

Correct, stonewars were the first ones to report on that. However, I was under the impression that neither Falcon nor Guyon directly commented on the D2C set afterwards. I might very well be wrong about that though -

This may be a controversial statement, but I think SW is the only license in TLG‘s arsenal that wouldn‘t really benefit from having a CMF series A lot of minifigs are already on CMF-level quality (mould- and printing-wise at least, dual-moulded arms and legs are still a rarity), and there‘s way too many characters to choose from, even if they went the D+ route. I get that people want cheap army building opportunities, but that‘s what the battlepacks are for, or at least they used to be (fingers crossed they actually return at some point!) Of course I wouldn‘t complain if they eventually ended up releasing one, but I would prefer the licensed CMF series to be dedicated to other themes -
Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think the days of sets increasing in value by absurd amounts like 500% are over, thanks to people sounding off how LEGO is a better investment than gold Now that everyone is hoarding sets, particularly ones they think will get more coveted in the future (just like the Bugle), the value will likely increase only moderately. In my opinion, that‘s a good thing. Sets increasing in value isn’t bad per se (after all, the seller should be compensated for keeping something in good condition for extended periods of time), but it needs to be reasonable. I couldn‘t sell an old set like with a 300% markup with a good conscience -

Good idea! They have to run out of enemies eventually, so that would be a nice alternative Btw, isn‘t the full set list already long overdue? Mario’s now the only theme besides Monkie Kid that still doesn‘t have set names for its 2HY releases -

The CMF „rumour“ is obvious BS. Not only wouldn‘t it make much sense for it to follow the same pattern as the Marvel series, it‘s also way too early for any sort of 2022 info to leak, let alone CMF rumours Just some desperate soul trying to find some short-lived relevance on IG -
