LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
There‘s no limits to their numbers though, and I think it‘s been implied that the numbers represent a ranking of sorts. Also, a recent encyclopedia has revealed that both Third Sister and Third Brother exist, which heavily implies that there‘s a pair for each number, meaning that there could be at least 20 Plus the one‘s you‘ve mentioned aren‘t the only ones. There‘s the black Twi’lek and the red-skinned female Inquisitor that still don’t have names, and the Inquisitor whose saber was wielded by Maul probably didn‘t survive that encounter So in the best-case scenario, we see a mixture of new and familiar Inquisitors in the show. The new ones for the sake of the story (so the duels are more exciting) and the old ones so we can fill some gaps in our collections. I know we‘ll never get all of them in minifig form, but at least the more prominent ones I hope -

General Kenobi! Agreed. After seeing the concept art, there is no way we won‘t get at least a couple of sets. What I‘m looking forward to the most are the Inquisitor(s) that could be included. I‘m still salty they skipped Seventh Sister and Eighth Brother back in 2016, so they could rectify that if either of them makes an appearance We still don‘t know which one(s) will be featured in the show, could be anyone… Well, almost. Ironically, the one they‘ve shown in the concept art (Second Sister) is the only one that can‘t, considering what happened in Fallen Order Personally, I want the show to introduce new ones (like Third Brother) because most of the others we‘re already familiar with die at later points, so duels with them are kinda pointless. The same could be said about the main duel in the show, but still -

They’re based on the preschool Spidey show, which has been confirmed a while ago We also know the set names and the included minifigs -
LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion

Those sets would have been in development for quite a while now, while the scandals were recent Well, the current wave of scandals that is, there were plenty of others before that though none quite as bad Overall, their reputation has been in the toilet for years now. Maybe that’s the reason the rumoured null sector titan set has been delayed? Not sure they can ever wash that stink off though -
Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Not at all: https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-harry-potter-neuheiten-q1-2022/ I’d say the minifig selection is on par with the other Moments sets. A main character, a semi-random student, and a variant of a teacher we’ve had before McGonagall sure was an upgrade, but the same can hardly be said about Moody and Trelawney. Sure, we haven’t actually seen them yet, but regular minifigs simply cannot compete with what a CMF budget enables the designers to accomplish -

No matter what these two sets are, we’re bound to get at least one additional NWH set at some point. As others have pointed out already, TLG love Spider-man WAY too much to let a golden opportunity like this pass Of course it’d be smarter to release something as soon as possible to capitalise on the hype, but we don’t really know how secretive Marvel / Sony were in regards to merchandise Not revealing anything to their merch partners would have been pretty silly though, considering the hype would die down long before the tie-in products could be released. And let’s not forget how much of an open secret some “spoilerific” content was anyway -

Yeah, maybe I‘m overthinking this. It‘s just that 3 months between waves feels a little close -

BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, 3 weeks ain‘t too bad What I‘m more concerned about is the 2HY releases. Sure, the sets themselves would only get delayed by two months or so if the shift in schedule ends up affecting them, but the set lists could well be delayed by four months This drought of information would just be free real estate for all the sneaky little Hobbitses out there At least they‘d be easy to call out as we already know what we‘re not getting next year -
Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I‘ve just looked up when this year‘s March sets were revealed and it was in early December, which makes sense. After all, March releases are usually featured in the consumer catalogues, which start appearing by then We can thus expect to see the sets in roughly three weeks. Factory leaks before that are highly unlikely, but it‘s not like there‘s much to leak in that regard anyway -

I think it‘s another helmet. While the price point would fit well for the Trash Compactor, the release date is off. After all, the other two helmets are released in March and the dioramas in May -

Maybe we need to apply reverse psychology here and should start asking for things we don‘t want *ahem* Dear TLG, please give us plenty of sets based on the vastly underrepresented PS/CoS, dozens of boring students, a whole onslaught of remakes, no DH stuff, and as many brick-built objects as possible. Oh, and no Gringotts please, nobody wants that. I think I just created a horcrux by writing that -

This would suck BIG time. A release later than June would mean we wouldn‘t hear about the sets for at least half a year from now, neither at the toy fairs nor from the 2HY catalogues The March sets aren‘t much of a consolation either -

Bold of you to assume the 2HY sets still get released in June as usual I‘m afraid this means they might be released later as well, e.g. in August, which would also mean we wouldn‘t get to see the set list until May or so -

Yeah, that‘s very much a possibility. Though what we can expect at the minimum are two exclusive prints each, which all of these packs have provided thus far (IIRC). What that budget is actually spent on, we can only speculate Could be something cool like an Incinerator Trooper, or something lame like a „new“ Imperial Officer with additional creases on their torso What I‘m definitely not expecting are new named characters, especially desirable ones. There‘s no way they give away sought-after characters in cheap accessory packs -

Don‘t get greedy guys, I don‘t think we can expect two versions of Gobby here We should consider ourselves lucky if we‘re getting just one anytime soon -

Maybe I‘ve overseen it before, but Stonewars confirm a January release date for the two accessory packs So we could see them leak rather soon, maybe through that toy safety inspecton agency (?) that seems to have become our major source for non-regular set leaks. The DC accessory pack, which also had a Jan 1st release date, leaked that way early December last year -

Promobricks have updated their info and now also confirm that the release date is March 1st, so no pics anytime soon Hoping for leaks around Christmas then -

Still makes no sense to me that they didn‘t reveal the MF today What‘s the plan here, secretly throwing it on s@h come Jan 1st, letting a random webshop reveal it, or dedicating a separate announcement to it? The Mario and Marvel reveals were also split, but at least there it makes some sense -

I also find it baffling that the mechs are exclusive to Marvel All of the previous gimmicks from Mighty Micros, constraction figures, to SDCC exclusives were always pretty evenly split between the themes… It was, but it wasn‘t as messy as it could‘ve been Kinda surprising in hindsight -

Huh, so the Art set, the encyclopedia, and the sets based on The Batman are definitely the only DC content in 2022, at least before June -

I have to admit that the AT-ST is a better set than I thought; Chewy, the updated pilot, and the fantastic probe droid are particular stand-outs (seriously, how come ALL of the previous 15 versions were this far off the mark?) The BP is as bland as expected, but it seems to make people happy at least. Personally, I’m just SO tired of Hoth. Too bad this already almost marks the end of the reveals for the fans of licensed themes Nope, one gets released in March and the other in May
