  1. Perfection? Nah. As a long-term collector, all I'm looking for are fine additions to my collection *cough*, or at the very least stuff I don't already have a thousand copies of, simple as that. I can't muster up much excitement for things I already own
  2. Good point, I was just thinking of some of the currently most overused ones Replace one of them with the Shocker faceprint then
  3. Looking at the boring SW accessory packs, I hope the Infinity Saga one will actually be worthwhile, even though I’m fully expecting at least two Chitauri to be included
  4. I seriously hope that the accessory packs will not serve as BP replacements in future because the former’s budget is very limited, or in this case, virtually 0 The rebel troopers will surely all reuse the same prints from the AT-ST set with faceprints borrowed from other themes (Bruce Wayne, Battinson/Tom Riddle, and Wonder Woman if I had to guess) and the Clonetroopers either reuse the Phase II torso or get a sliiiightly updated one as a “new” print. You’d think with as huge of a budget as SW must have they wouldn’t play it as excessively save as they’re doing, but here we are… And my dreams of an Incinerator Trooper anytime soon go up in flames (pun wholeheartedly intended)
  5. While more AOTC coverage would be nice, I'd rather they finally focus on scenes other than the Battle of Geonosis It feels like TLG reduces the movie to that battle alone, similar to how TESB is dominated by Hoth sets with the very rare Dagobah or Bespin one I still hope they get treated decently. If TBOBF can get two sets right away (sort of), then the other two shows should too
  6. Marcos Bessa said in unambiguous terms that neither DH nor Gringotts sets are currently planned, so I’m not sure why people are still holding out hope for them (except for @THELEGOBATMAN, who has a very good reason) Maybe in 2023 or beyond, but surely not next year. Why would he lie to keep things secret when a simple “you shall see” or “I can’t say anything about future products” would’ve sufficed
  7. Maybe the exclusive “new” print is an updated Phase I torso? Can’t imagine them not including a single new print across two of these packs, but then again, this is SW I wonder if all three of the clones are plain ones or if we get some different ranks here. Not that it would make much of a difference since we got all of them before
  8. I'm happy for the people who didn't have the chance yet to get them, but it's still a lot of wasted potential
  9. Sounds pretty lame to be honest, those should've been regular battlepacks instead So much for exclusive prints then
  10. I know, for you the stakes are much higher than for the rest of us As far as I'm concerned, I've made peace with it
  11. Don’t get your hopes up, the way the designers were talking about DH doesn’t exactly sound promising I would suggest not expecting any in the forseeable future and being pleasantly surprised whenever some DH-adjacent sets do show up
  12. Huh. While Nezha does have a double-bun style hairpiece, it’s NOT the one that recently leaked Is it a Friends piece after all?
  13. Whoops, forgot about him. Not overly familiar with his scores outside of LOTR, The Hobbit, Hugo, and Ed Wood Definitely a noteworthy composer too I thought they were marketing JWD as the final entry in the series? Or are they pulling a Kingdom Hearts III here and it’s just the finale of the current arc?
  14. Um, how are scalpers supposed to manipulate the worth of a set while it’s still in production? That sort of trickery is only possible once a set is phased out of production and can’t be easily bought at stores anymore, handing complete control over the supply over to the aftermarket. Unless a set is sold out for months of course, but this is a regular retail set, so that’s not particularly likely. And waiting for new stock shouldn’t be too hard either
  15. So this basically confirms where that hairpiece is from
  16. I think the chances are pretty high. We know that the Ghost is still around during the ST era and I’d expect multiple (former) crewmembers to show up in the Ahsoka show, which apparently serves as the long-planned Rebels sequel series Plus, Filoni is involved. He probably can’t resist the urge to translate as many of his (and his team’s) creations into live-action as possible With the shows that are currently scheduled, there should be a good selection of new and revisited vehicles from multiple eras. Let’s hope TLG actually take advantage of that, starting with at least a handful of sets for Obi-Wan and Andor next summer
  17. Only if they release both versions. If we end up with only one minifig of his, I’d prefer the other costume, goofy as it still is
  18. This year’s employee holiday gift set is based on Ninjago, called “Temple of Celebrations”. No idea if Santa Garmadon (Santadon?) is actually included as a minifig or just on a postcard
  19. Right on the money, but luckily it turned out to be a Ninjago set rather than a HP one This could’ve been terrifying since new prints are not out of the question for these gift sets
  20. I’d argue it gets pretty good once the Grand Inquisitor and Tarkin show up mid-way through S1 and the shows really kicks into high-gear in the finale of S2. So maybe a remake could do well if they include some desirable minifigs from S2 and beyond? You’re right though, a set like that could do well even if the kids aren’t too familiar with the source material. I mean, we got sets based on The Old Republic, the new Battlefront games, Galaxy’s Edge, and even completely made-up ones Fingers crossed the upcoming shows are able to renew interest in Rebels, be it by introducing live-action Inquisitors (Obi-Wan) or by directly featuring its characters (Ahsoka, maybe Andor as well)
  21. Not sure if they’d be willing to give it another shot. Maybe the chances improve if the ship shows up in the Ahsoka series? Of course fans would buy a remake in a heartbeat (especially when looking at the mind-boggling prices on bricklink), but would the target audience too? Is Rebels still popular among kids?
  22. I knew it, these price hikes are machinations of the Dark Side It’s always sad when a hobby gets invaded by people who don’t care about the hobby itself and are instead just in it to make a quick buck. Just ask the trading card community That’s why I don’t mind TLG rerealising new versions of rare minifigs. I don’t care if my copies lose value as I’m not intending to sell them anyway
  23. That's how it usually goes, yes. But the way these prices have increased astronomically is pretty suspicious if you ask me. It just reeks of purposeful price gouging Old sets and minifigs have always increased in price after a while, that's noting new, especially when retired sets suddenly experience refreshed interest thanks to a new show or film coming out. These price hikes however are beyond anything I've seen in the last 15 years
  24. It’s not handled the same way in every subforum. In the SW subforum, new threads are created once we have rumours, so those are threads about the sets released in that particular year. Contrast this with the licensed subforum, where threads are created on Jan 1st and are thus framed by the calendar year, rather than the sets released in that year Because it’d be thousands of pages long. Looking for older posts would be even more of a mess Edit: Gah, double-ninja’d by @lego_guyon02
  25. Sure, but this hairpiece doesn’t look like it belongs to a bounty hunter, mercenary, goon, or crime lord Yeah, that pretty much seals the deal
