  1. Now we have a third version of the Marauder’s Map, this time a fully closed one Quite an impressive selection of hairpieces too
  2. Off-topic, but I’m a bit sceptical towards its potential success. The show currently doesn’t have that much going for it besides the name. Not even a single well-known actor to draw in general audiences (unlike GoT and WoT) and the story will not be based on any narrative material written by Tolkien himself And at that ludricous budget, Amazon Primes needs millions of new subscribers to make up for the cost Good point, let’s hope that’s the case We’ll know once the trunk set gets added to s@h this afternoon
  3. I thought all four of the sets were scheduled for March, but apparently not if the trunk gets revealed today And of course they start with the least interesting one, at least minifig-wise I won’t complain though, after this drought we’re in desperate need of some juicy reveals
  4. Seventh Sister or bust And Rukh perhaps. And a TIE Defender. Pretty please
  5. According to brickfanatics, there are two more sets released in either May or June, 75339 and 75342 One of them pretty much has to be the Trash Compactor
  6. Nope, not a single of these accessory packs has ever introduced a new mould The only exclusive aspects are prints and newly coloured parts in some cases, which is the main reason I’d never want them to replace battlepacks (the other being limited availability)
  7. Maybe Boba gives it a new name in the show? I mean, a Boba show gets announced and suddenly they stop using the old name for merch… Correlation =/= causation, but it’s still interesting timing 2022 marks their 9th year (!), so something tells me they’re selling just fine I don’t think that a majority of kids only want them for the figures. How representative is your sample?
  8. I’m curious about that as well. Definitely a relief to hear that the accessory packs continue not to be BP replacements, in which case there should be at least one named character in this one as well. Riekan is a good suggestion
  9. It‘s not really his decision though, is it? I mean, it‘s a whole team of designers AND they‘re working closely together with WB who also have a say in what gets and doesn‘t get made. Plus the higher-ups at TLG
  10. Sorry for the double post, but according to lego_fulcrum, two of the Clones will actually be Phase I Cody and Rex Huh, so much for it being based on AOTC then I feel a disturbance in the force
  11. The only thing I'm not sure about regarding the upcoming reveals is Boba Fett's Throne Room because sets based on upcoming movies and shows are not always included in consumer catalogues The Jurassic World FK and Minions sets for instance - all released in April - were not featured in the 1HY catalogues in 2018 and 2020 respectively, while the Avengers AoU sets in 2015 were (and IW too, if I recall correctly). I think March releases tend to stand a better chance than April ones, but we shall see. What I fully expect the catalogue to reveal though is the Dark Trooper set, and maybe the helmets. I think the previous ones were included in some versions of the catalogues at least, correct?
  12. The pictures of those two sets leaked at the beginning of October (thanks to someone taking pictures of the retailer catalogue) and were officially revealed around the end of November. The March sets (Imperial Shuttle, Hoth Microfighters, and 4+ X-Wing) were revealed through the consumer catalogue in early December I think it was the digital version because the printed one usually doesn‘t start to appear in stores before January, so we should keep an eye out on the website
  13. Actually, you’re right, I’ve looked it up on brickset. Chrome Vader was distributed the exact same way in the exact same capacity, so I have no idea why one’s so much more expensive than the other. I mean, they were just two years apart I could easily afford the Vader polybag back in the day on bricklink (which is why I thought it was sold rather than randomly distributed), but the 3PO one was always beyond what I’d be willing to pay, even back then
  14. I’d definitely prefer ranked Clonetroopers over three shinies, which would be better served in a regular battlepack Still nothing new per se, but at least it’s better than three identical minifigs in an accessory pack
  15. I think it’s because Chrome 3-PO wasn’t sold, he was randomly distributed across the 2007 set range if I remember correctly. Chrome Vader on the other hand was sold as a regular polybag
  16. Nope, that was just for the 20th anniversary It’s simple: I keep bringing it up so we can hopefully have a realistic outlook on next year’s 2HY set list Call me a party pooper, but I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve collectively been speculating about a DH wave and a Gringotts D2C set only to have Lucy remove the football Tempering expectations is the only way to prevent disappointment. I hope this doesn’t come across as patronising
  17. That's one of the examples. The other ones I can think of are the last three Snowspeeders (granted, one was 4+ and another one a Sandspeeder), the previous two TIE Fighters (again, one 4+), two versions of the Slave I (one was stand-alone, the other part of the Cloud City MBS set), and the Great Hall from HP. I admit that a lot of these only count on a technicality
  18. What I‘m getting at is that these replies suggest that we shouldn‘t expect these sets in 2022, based on the usual production schedules of roughly one year I realise that they’ve changed their stance before (e.g. regarding the stability of a UCS-sized AT-AT), but that takes some time.
  19. Fair point, but if they revisit AOTC those two should be near the top of the list And Jango‘s and Boba‘s versions should be able to peacefully co-exist on shelves, happened before with other sets By the way, we now have proper names for the March playsets, courtesy of @Childish_Landino: 75324: Attack of the Dark Troopers 75326: Boba Fett‘s Throne Room I wouldn‘t expect a remake of Jabba‘s Palace based on that name
  20. It‘s a running joke A while back, @THELEGOBATMAN stated that he‘d eat his own hand if they won‘t release DH sets next year, and I keep reminding him of it That‘s exactly my point though, the answers were not nearly as evasive as I would have expected. When asked about future products, the designers usually simply reply that they can‘t talk about them. Here, we got pretty elaborate reasoning
  21. Maybe I read into it too deeply, but “sneaking in things based on X” and „releasing sets based on X“ are two very different things. I mean, they already did the former by including DH Griphook in CMF S2 In combination with the other statements about DH (it targeting older audiences than the earlier instalments and not having as much potential for engaging toys as them), this is rather telling. And in regards to Gringotts: I think Marcos directly stated that it‘s not currently planned, didn‘t he? Or am I imagining that?
  22. Perfection? Nah. As a long-term collector, all I'm looking for are fine additions to my collection *cough*, or at the very least stuff I don't already have a thousand copies of, simple as that. I can't muster up much excitement for things I already own
  23. Good point, I was just thinking of some of the currently most overused ones Replace one of them with the Shocker faceprint then
  24. Looking at the boring SW accessory packs, I hope the Infinity Saga one will actually be worthwhile, even though I’m fully expecting at least two Chitauri to be included
