Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
You‘d think sets within a modular system would have less minifig overlap than other sets, but that‘s far from guaranteed We just had two big Hogwarts expansions that both feature Dumbledore! That said, there has to be at least one redesigned minifig in here. Probably only a new Carnage tho As for the Hulkbuster, if it‘s the AoU version I‘m okay with that since we only had one minifig-scale set before, whereas the IW one had two already and the second one cannot be topped I think. Don‘t do this, don‘t give me hope! -

I wouldn‘t go that far There are some cool-sounding Star Wars sets coming, the Harry Potter wave seems pretty awesome, the Minecraft wave intrigues me, and Sonic will have some neat additions. Many other licensed themes we still know next to nothing about (Jurassic World, One Piece, Mario, Fortnite, and Animal Crossing). But yeah, Marvel and DC are in a bit of a rough spot. Maybe the sets will be well realised, but the choices are super bland -

And the price for most creatively bankrupt theme goes to… …DC for providing nothing but Batmobiles and a logo, but Marvel is not far behind Are they serious with this wave? Another Hulkbuster, ANOTHER Spidey vs Doc Ock mech set, another Miles mech, another Spidey car, another, buildable Iron Man, another buildable Groot What version of Groot could they even do besides the one from Vol 2 in the ravager suit? A carnagised version? Granted, a new small-scale version of the Bugle could be cool, but I smell lots of repeated minifigs. And the Sandman set sounds very similar to the NWH one -

That got a good laugh out of me They could recreate the scene with the monkey becoming a senator with a Kowakian monkey lizard! But who‘s the equivalent to Denzel Washington‘s character in this? Only if they finally include an Incinerator Trooper or Tank Driver Otherwise, what‘s the point of a Mando set that might as well be an OT set? -

All I can see are fast starfighters with pronged wings. Could be Vulture Droids, but may as well be TIE Interceptors or a new type of ship Also nice to see that the twins from TBOBF are back on the poster! Makes sense, since they‘re related to Rotta. Hopefully that means Krrsantan shows up too (if he‘s still working for them, that is)! I still want a minifig of his -

M&G trailer is out! The anzellans seem to be pretty prominent, so maybe TLG was thinking ahead with Babu Frik in the AC Those new droids are good set material! And Zeb of course ^^ Glad they showed Rotta in the first public trailer too, increases his chances of appearing in a set. Oddly nostalgic -

I‘m fairly confident the logo comes with minifigs. The Marvel one had some (and that was also a 12+ set unlike the 18+ SW one that didn‘t feature minifigs), and where else could they reuse the new prints from Arkham anytime soon? Granted, there could be more sets in the summer where those might show up, or maybe the 3 Batmobiles aren‘t movie-based after all. Both also distinct possibilities, but I hope my prediction holds true ^^ -

In general, anniversary minifigs wouldn‘t make much sense to me since those are tied in with the anniversaries of the LEGO themes, not the franchises behind them. Your idea however would be an excellent way to celebrate the 50th anniversary! -

Red and Roost are on the top of my AC wishlist, and I really hope we‘re getting some pieces of art too! Most of them should be public domain, so there‘s nothing to stop them from including them Then again, the Starry Night Ideas set was licensed by the MOMA, so maybe it‘s not that easy Also: Not gonna happen, but it‘d be so cool if they included random painting tiles in sets, à la HP or One Piece With AC, there would even be more possibilities beyond that, such as villager portraits or KK album covers ^^ -

We were talking about a D2C set in general, not necessarily a modular set because the latter obviously wouldn’t work I can imagine a microscale set working quite well tho! Basically a Marvel version of the Gotham skyline with a bit more depth perhaps. As for the minifigs, Odin, Heimdall, and the warriors three would be enough of a draw I think. I want my Anthony Hopkins and Idris Elba minifigs, dangit! -

When has that ever stopped them? We got plenty of ships and locations well after they’ve been destroyed in-universe, like the Milano, the Hall of Armour (assuming they’re based on the one inside Tony’s mansion), or the Avengers Tower (which wasn’t destroyed but changed owners ages ago). That said, you’re right that Thor isn’t exactly at the height of his popularity anymore after L&T, but I think he’s still well-liked enough. It’s not like people are gonna boo when they see him in Doomsday And he still shows up in his own sets, like the Surtur Battle just last year! Sure, that’s not exactly comparable to a D2C, but there is a chance regardless. Not particularly high, but it’s there! -

Meh. I think the original movie has been covered very well so far and the 2023 playset version of the visitor center already scratched that itch for me Not that I’d mind a D2C version, but I’d rather have some LW/JP3 sets! -
Sonic the Hedgehog - Rumours and Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Classic_Spaceman's topic in LEGO Licensed
Just built the Genesis/Megadrive controller and hadn’t realised before that it comes with stickers for the UK, US, and JP versions as well as extra tiles to place them on! -
At this point, it’s the only theme I was ever really into they haven’t brought back yet Still hard to believe we’re getting LotR, HP, Toy Story, Simpsons, and PotC sets in the same year when the original themes usually substituted each other (if only Indy stuck around too after the brief return in 2023, but I digress) SpongeBob also coming back would be the icing on an already extravagant cake! With dual-moulding and all the new colours and pieces that have been introduced in the meantime they could do something really special with that theme! Fingers crossed the TMNT Brickheadz are a sign for things to come!!

Something interesting from the Infinity Saga that has never been done before with a ton of new, long-requested minifigs? Nahhh, can’t have that, we need more Hulkbusters, Hall of Armour reboots, and Endgame final battle sets!! -
LEGO Videogame Tie-Ins - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
They could easily depict the final battle against Ganon and still feature a Ganondorf minifig, like they did with the cancelled Maleficent diorama that was supposed to include both a minifig and her dragon form Both of them transform into their monstrous forms just before the final confrontation, after all! The scene with the organ, Zelda trapped inside a crystal, a unique time signature, and the most epic tennis match in history would be cool too, don’t get me wrong, but nowhere near as cool as the battle with Ganon! -

They did the same for HP with an even larger gap between 2011 and 2018 (or 2016, if you count Dimensions) -

According to @Lego_Minecraft_Goat, there’s gonna be a Sauron bust, released in March for $74.99 with 538 pieces! It’s unclear whether it comes with a minifig, like the recent Marvel busts. -
DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, there’s no way the three Batmobiles come with more than two minifigs each. We just had a $100 one and the 66 one last year with only one minifig each, and the previous sets usually featured two, and those were more expensive than the upcoming ones. The BatS one was the only outlier with three minifigs Best case, the logo comes with costumed versions of Bane, Scarecrow, and Killer Croc, and the three Batmobiles each include one sidekick or villain that isn’t Jonkler. -
TMNT is allegedly back in the form of Brickheadz! I hope this means more collabs with Nickelodeon again! I have a particular one in mind…

The overbearing influence of Disney and its negative impact
BrickBob Studpants replied to TheDoctor's topic in LEGO Licensed
It didn’t say they were positive changes, they’re mostly neutral in my opinion For instance, the Black Pearl being renamed for marketing reasons (since the name isn’t trademarked) is a pretty neutral change since it doesn’t change anything about the set itself.
