  1. That interesting ball part that leaked today belongs to Ninjago and appears in multiple colours, according to promobricks
  2. *angry guitar riff* SFotG would‘ve made for some nice sets, but it‘s not hard to see why they opted not to make any. The first Shazam was a mild success and the sequel has been projected to perform quite poorly for a while now. The DCEU being on its way out doesn‘t help either. And I‘m certain the only reason we‘re getting a Flash set is because two version of Batsy are featured in the film
  3. Those situations cannot be directly compared. Sure, the optics of your main star going on a crazy crimespree aren‘t great, but at the end of the day, those are the actions of one person. It‘s not like the director, the producers, the former heads of DC, and half of the cast joined in on the „fun“. What happened at Activision/Blizzard on the other hand was systematic and involved MANY employees. It‘s arguably the biggest scandal a videogame company was ever involved in. I don‘t blame anyone for not wanting to be associated with them anymore
  4. https://jaysbrickblog.com/news/77014-the-temple-of-doom-joins-an-illustrious-list-of-cancelled-lego-sets/
  5. Several people have brought that up now, but I'm not convinced that's all there is to this. If it was just a simple design flaw, they should've been able to fix it and release the set with a slight delay. For instance, the 2022 Marvel mechs got only delayed by three months. And the 2015 Ant-man set had an even shorter delay, I think. LAN representatives have made clear that the set is cancelled, not delayed. The only wiggle room is for the set to be redesigned with a new set number, which is highly unlikely in my eyes
  6. Wait, Jared Leto too?! Seriously though, that trailer really sold me on the movie. And the tie-in set is shaping up very nicely as well!
  7. Loooks real to me I like what I‘m seeing! Hope it includes more than two minifigs
  8. Not really all that relevant and it‘s not canon anymore I can think of at least 5 other SW projects that need sets more than this show does
  9. As has been firmly established before, TLG don’t care about anniversaries. And just because something makes sense or fits a perceived pattern doesn’t mean it’s likely. For instance, a Duel on Exegol set in 2020 would have made perfect sense. Instead, we got a pointless near-identical Death Star Duel rehash The Fondor would also make sense this year, yet it’s nowhere to be seen. That’s not how likelihood works
  10. Most likely? Based on what exactly? It could be virtually anything: an OT set, a buildable object, a Mando/Bad Batch/Ahsoka/Skeleton Crew tie-in set or something completely different.
  11. …why would they dedicate such a large set to a brand new vehicle? Giant D2C sets are always based on something iconic that has long been established. Too big of a risk otherwise
  12. There’s this one guy I’ve seen on Reddit that keeps claiming that 75354 is a Gunship, citing his job as a source. Not completely implausible per se, but then he had to post a minifig list. This of course completely destroyed the little credibility there was to begin with Wanting something to be true doesn’t make it any more likely.
  13. Spoiler-free sets: Aug 1st Potentially spoilerific set: May 1st Makes sense Then again, the spoiler character being included is just speculation on Promobricks’ part. Personally, I don’t think they show up in a set before 2024
  14. According to Promobricks, the Fangfighter vs Interceptor set will be revealed on April 25th, so the Tuesday after the season finale. Good, that means it’s gonna be accurate after all Just a bit risky, because that means the set is only getting revealed one week ahead of its release.
  15. Sure, the article talks about products based on the classic films too, but the list itself is specifically for DoD. It says “confirmed licensee categories for ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’”. If those three sets are all there is, then of course TLG doesn’t show up here
  16. These lists only concern specific upcoming movies. TLG has also been on those for themes they already had the general license for, e.g., Star Wars. More general licensing deals are usually announced separately (see Avatar). Sure, I’m not telling you what to believe. I’m just pointing out that hoping for future waves will in all likelihood be in vain
  17. I hope we hear soon what kind of set 76422 and 23 are. Out of the “confirmed” sets, I’m only looking forward to three, namely Gringotts, The Battle of Hogwarts, and the AC. This wave needs more regular playsets!
  18. What I mean are those lists that always get widely published for major new releases where all of the partners are listed for each product category. https://www.licenseglobal.com/movies/lucasfilm-announces-licensees-for-new-indiana-jones-movie I’m sure some of you will be happy to point out that it says “more to be announced”, but that does not concern the toy category And in the past, TLG has always been one of the top-billed partners. Their absence speaks volumes.
  19. It was the third set based on JP, which is part of the JW theme, whereas Indy is its own thing and not a subtheme of a bigger theme. These two cannot even remotely be compared. LOTR came back as part of the Icons theme. It has also been stated that its future depends on how well Rivendell does. Incredibly unlikely in my view. Why would they release more sets in a year without a new movie than in a year with one? And as I’ve pointed out before, post-movie follow-up waves for licensed themes aren’t a thing anymore, except for evergreen ones
  20. Well, I did indeed a complete 180. My new-found hope was resting purely on the vagueness of TLG’s statement, which was completely dashed by Jay’s blog post. And then there was the realisation that the set numbers were never actually confirmed by Promobricks. Yeah, I should have waited a bit before making my bet. Good thing no one took me up on it because now, I’d be willing to bet the complete opposite What future waves? Have you ever heard of a theme that started with only 3 sets in its first year and then got more?
  21. Oh I agree, none of this makes a lick of sense. Really sad about the missed potential here. But it is what it is
  22. I would agree, but then there's the lack of listings and the fact TLG is missing on the list of licensees. Those two simply cannot be explained away under the assumption sets are still coming.
  23. In scale? Yes. Compatible? Not really. The overground section can't use a baseplate
  24. They literally said that those four sets were probably based on DoD and maybe had those four numbers. That's pretty much guesswork, no?
  25. Which DoD sets? That was just guesswork by Promobricks. For all we know, sets were never planned to begin with. As for the reason(s), we will likely never know. They will either not give a statement at all, or just spout some corporate nonsense again. My guess? Lucasfilm/Disney were asking for a license fee that TLG wasn’t willing to pay, so they settled for the cheaper license for the old movies
