  1. Huh, interesting. They’re not gonna do that, but now I really wish they explained their reasoning here. I thought it was due to lackluster sales last time around, but apparently not Or maybe some sets vastly outsold the others, and we‘re just getting remakes of the top 3 here. (Wouldn‘t be surprised if those actually were the top 3 back in the day)
  2. Come on, there‘s no way DoD is going to be as poorly received as GoT season 8 or The Book of Henry And even if it was, they are already working with Mangold and seem to be happy with his work. The projects that likely caused (or at least heavily contributed to) the sackings of D&D and Trevorrow were outside of Lucasfilm‘s sphere of influence, so they were caught offguard like the rest of us And the New Jedi Order movie having Ridley attached is more than can be said for any of the previously cancelled projects.
  3. Eh. This year, I‘m not really that anxious to see pictures, compared to the last few years. The clear star of the show is Gringotts, and we won‘t get to see that one until August. The only things I‘m currently looking forward to in the June wave are Scabior and McGonagall
  4. That won’t change anything short-term. If more sets are on the way in 2024 (which I highly doubt), they were already planned, without taking our feedback and overall sales into consideration. The only thing this could affect is more sets beyond 2024, which is even less likely. Look at how long it took for the 501st BP to become a reality! Non-evergreen themes are just too short-lived for this sort of shenanigans to have an effect. Moreover, the rather meager output by Hasbro and Funko shows that IJ isn’t exactly a merchandise juggernaut anymore (if it ever was one). It’s not just TLG that don’t seem to have a lot of faith in the IP
  5. As much as I like to dunk on Lucasfilm for announcing and then cancelling 10+ films, the difference is that none of them were announced at SWC. That makes those recent announcements a lot more trustworthy to me. The previous ones served to appease shareholders, whereas these were for the fans The dates are the bigger issue. Not sure if they’ll be able to keep the current 2025, 27, and 29 spots. Looks more like 26, 28, and 30 to me. …I can feel myself aging just writing this
  6. Definitely. There is no reason to assume otherwise
  7. If the Hogwarts Grounds set counts as a buildable object, so does the 2018 microscale one. And technically, all sets are buildable objects, it’s just the scale that differs In 2020, we also had the Monster Book of Monsters as a GWP B2T: Those are a separate product category though, like the mechs and Mighty Micros. They’re basically an upgrade to the 2012 constraction figures
  8. Have they, though? Marvel has four so far this year (two helmets/masks, Venomised Groot, and Cap’s Shield), so one less than last year (Groot, Gauntlet, Hulkbuster, BP bust, and Mjolnir). Harry Potter has two this year, which is one more than last year, but one less than in 2021 and the same number as in 2020 Star Wars has been consistent from the get-go with 3 yearly helmets and 1-2 buildable figures.
  9. They have been doing that for more than two years now
  10. Looking at the output of the other toy companies, it's not that surprising anymore that this is all we're getting. Oh well
  11. Well, ToD, KotCS, and DoD don't get much (or any) love from Funko and Hasbro either, so we can blame Lucasfilm for this whole situation
  12. Neville makes a lot more sense to include here though. Sure, Seamus helps bringing the bridge down, but it’s Neville who confronts the Snatchers. Also, it increases the chances of Nagini being included
  13. I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED AGAIN Short answer: no. TLG is not on the list of licensees for the movie and there are no listings anywhere. So there won’t be any DoD sets this year, and by next year it’ll be too late
  14. TLG are finally advertising the sets on IG! Guess what half the comments are about though
  15. Um, how exactly? I don’t know the inner workings of Bricklink, but the cut of any transaction they get can’t be THAT high. As @Mandalorianknight points out, no matter how high it is, a cheap set with the same minifig (or a new version of it) would bring in A LOT more money. Also, these overpriced minifigs change owners pretty rarely I assume. TLG certainly make more money on BL with “normal” everyday transactions. The only people with high interest in rare minifigs staying rare are BL sellers and some scalpers
  16. Narrator: They did not. I’m fully counting on there only being two minifigs based on previous Batmobiles, but of course I’d welcome a third one with open arms I’m also still wondering what happened to that other delayed 2022 set (which seems to be based on DC). A second set based on The Flash can probably be ruled out, as we would’ve heard about it by now. Aquaman perhaps? Certainly would’ve preferred another Flash set
  17. Scabior is the leader of the snatchers, the bounty hunters that catch the trio and bring them to Malfoy Manor in DH1. He participates in the BoH and dies when Neville lets the bridge collapse The Carrows were Death Eaters that got teaching positions after Voldy took over, with very minor roles in the films though. Their best moment is when Snaps knocks them out during his duel with McGonagall
  18. Exactly. I do like the hairpiece, but so many HP characters are already using it Not only Ron, Tonks, and Snape, but also Wormtail and Mr Borgin. And I hope they give him a new faceprint
  19. I think the Will Turner hairpiece would work pretty well. At least it did in the video game back in the day! No matter which hairpiece they end up using, as long as it isn’t the Dastan piece, all is well
  20. I HAVE BEEN SUMMONED. The whole thing is highly unusual, but we still have no reason not to believe Jay. Some of the DoD merchandise (like Voller’s plane and Helena’s bike) gets released this month though.
  21. The rest of the wave is still just MEH, but the BoH sounds like an amazing set! DH McGonagall and Scabior are excellent additions, especially the latter. I remember being disappointed by his absence in the 2010/11 sets, so it’s great to finally get a minifig of his here! Glad they picked him over any named Death Eaters (like the Carrows, those lame-os). Scabior’s way more memorable than any of them, and his death scene is glorious
  22. Excellent! Glad this further confirms @bRICKbRAT’s information Also, nice to see that McGonagall is also included! Fingers crossed for some statues Also also, they need to reuse Bellatrix’ CMF faceprint here. I don’t want to see the Mantis one again
  23. Personally, I think it’s a decent year with the NWH set, CMF S2, and the rumoured AT being the clear highlights. Most people are indeed disappointed though, especially with the way Quantumania was treated and the missing characters in the GotG V3 sets. Then there’s the buildable objects and characters
  24. These are both fair points. Not sure how well that would work though, precision-wise. Not having to worry about proper alignment anymore surely was one of the reasons dual-moulding was introduced to begin with
  25. @Brick Clicker is teasing a new video in 4 hours. He doesn’t specify what theme it’s for, but HP is definitely an option!
