LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
BrickBob Studpants replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Exactly!! Sure, the two shows were not quite as well-received as Mando is, as @Classic_Spaceman points out, but both of them still have a lot of set potential. For instance, a set with a Rancor, a Scorpenek, Cad Bane, Krrsantan, Din, Boba, and Pyke soldiers would print money, regardless of how the show was perceived. This whole sequence was basically Filoni, Favreau, and Rodriguez smashing all their toys together, so of course it would make for an excellent toy But yeah, it’s probably too late now. I hope Ahsoka gets treated a bit better! Skeleton Crew might be a one-off too, so they’d better include all the main characters here Good thing that’s actually doable with a set of this size -

Indeed. Ahsoka I can sort of understand, as it also took until the following summer to get more Mando S2 sets. Mando S3 however, there is no good excuse why Grogu’s Escape is the only one at the moment, and a May release at that -

A set based on a flashback… Never thought we’d see that I wonder if they’ll reuse the Shocktrooper from the upcoming Gunship -

No. They have a poll on IG, and the options for the next reveal are Technic, Ninjago, and Dreamzzz. Hopefully soon after that! -

Promobricks have more information! https://www.promobricks.de/lego-star-wars-2024-erste-infos/174690/ No more helmets it seems Tantive IV and MF midi-scale sets Tantive IV diorama Buildable R2 (smaller than the last one) Buildable Droideka Grogu Escape set from Mando S3 No regular BP The $140 set is allegedly based on Skeleton Crew Sounds decent, apart from the lack of Imperial Commandos and Ahsoka sets. Then again, the list is not complete yet -

They celebrated the 20th anniversary, so I see no reason to skip the 25th I don‘t want them to release remakes of older sets though, they already did than in 2019 (and technically they‘re doing it every year) Ideally, they go the Potter route and release normal sets, but with golden minifigs as a gimmick. Pearl gold versions of Vader, Chewy, Stormies and more would be pretty dope! -

Harsh. I thought you were talking about Goliath because it could theoretically be possible that he doesn‘t have a faceprint beneath the helmet. Wouldn’t be the first time. You didn‘t mention the handprint in your post, all you said was „she doesn‘t have a faceprint“. It was a pretty funny statement out of context because I pictured a faceless Echo when I read that, so I poked fun at it -

More like spring wave, as they‘re released in March But you‘re right, it‘s pretty hard to come up with a new type of gimmick sets. We already had classrooms and common rooms, so what else can they do? The dormitories with everyone in their PJs? Going back to classrooms (but with a new gimmick rather than books) seems like something they‘d do in the future, but it‘s too soon for that -

„Poodoo“ A podrace diorama sounds great! I generally prefer minifig-scale dioramas, but this has potential nonetheless. Hope it includes more than just Anakin‘s and Sebulba‘s podracers -

There are actually at least two instances: Puresh said he‘d eat a Joyce minifig if the Stranger Things set was real, and it was I recently said I‘d eat a Deadpool minifig dressed as Deadpool if they made sets based on Deadpool 3 I think we‘re both safe, unlike Puresh -

Dang, you got two goats for the price of one and the seller was nice enough to give you the rest of the set for free on top? Seriously though, nice deal! If only the seller knew the true value It‘s a printed brick! Looks way better than I thought- 5,876 replies

I will be very disappointed if there‘s no Imperial Commando BP coming. Those guys, the Praetorian Guards, and helmeted Gideon just scream „turn as into marketable plush… I mean minifigs“ A NR BP would also be neat since we never had one, but not quite as essential I think. -

Especially since the original rumour included McGonagall. A couple of statues would also have been nice additions. It‘s still a cool set though and the Scabior minifig alone sold me on it Still hoping for another BoH set at some point so we can get DH Ron, Narcissa, and Lucius with stubble -

You‘re right! Upon closer inspection, it‘s definitely new As a fan of cyborgs, I hope that piece gets used in some sci-fi contexts too in the future. So in terms of new parts, we have the bows, the owl, Echo‘s leg, Hawkeye‘s, Storm‘s, and Beast‘s hairpieces, plus Moon Knight‘s hood, and his crescent moon dagger thingie Still can‘t identify Echo‘s hairpiece though. Doesn‘t look like the dinosaur tracker‘s from S12 to me -

Interesting, so some details were off We only get a Sentinel head, Beast has a microscope instead, and Kate comes with a pizza box rather than a target Love the prostethic leg on Echo! I assume it‘s same part they‘ve used in City sets before. And the owl is definitely a new part! -

The holiday set is really cute! Nice to have Rey, Finn, BB-8, and a Porg in a set again, it’s been a while Too bad the OT, PT, and ST all share the same Vader boxart. I would’ve loved to see ST-specific boxart. Not really that surprising though since Obi‘s JF last year also had the Vader boxart (which the AT-TE should‘ve had too as a PT set, but I digress). In regards to the rumours: the 4+ ship sounds neat and hopefully includes the missing main characters. The supersized BP has quite some potential! However, I hope this is not the only BP on the menu -
While I'd be okay with that minifig selection, I'm hoping for something more representing of the movies as a whole rather than going for scene accuracy (i.e., Paul, Leto, Jessica, Chani, and the Baron). Unless we're getting a follow-up set at some point of course

Dune 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Mandalorianknight's topic in LEGO Licensed
Indeed. Despite some hiccups (*death glare at empty shelves where more Indy sets were supposed to go*), 2023 has been my favourite LEGO year by a wide margin. While individual themes have done better in previous years (2020 for Harry Potter for instance), the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Between the Disney 100 sets, the No Way Home set, Marvel CMF S2, the Ahsoka sets, LOTR and Indy returning, Gringotts, the Battle of Hogwarts, the JP 30th anniversary stuff, the (sort-of) return of DC, solid offerings for Minecraft, Mario, and Avatar, the debut of the Sonic theme, and now the Dune set, there is no way 2023 wouldn’t take the crown. 2024 has a lot to live up to -

I’ve had missing pieces before, but this is ridiculous I’m currently building the Yavin set, and one of the 1x2 swivel hinge bricks is missing. Quite a large part that should be noticable by weight, right? The kicker: in place of the hinge, I got a lime green 1x2 inverted bracket. Which the set isn’t even supposed to include -

Nope. It’s an Icons set, complete with a set number in the Icons range (10XXX). The Indy diorama on the other hand had a normal set number. (And “revival” should be put in the biggest quotes imaginable, but I digress ) -

Holy macaroni! Now that’s exciting Fingers crossed they won’t delay it if the movie gets pushed back 4-5 minifigs too?! Damn
