  1. Thanks Titus, good point about the colours - as I always tend to put in too many, this time I wanted to be strict with myself and see what could happen (the original plan actually included a couple more shades of green as well as dark red and dark orange ). Thanks SK. The cropping worked well, in fact, only with those pic where I was too far zoomed out. I did use my default image editing program for cropping, but couldn't find a resizing option - gonna have to look better in to it.
  2. my my! o.o Well as everyone is going about the colours: I think the dark bley with spots of light one works really well, especially on white backdrop - the other one does look a bit too dark. If anything, I'd replace the red with blue (/dark blue?): it might look less realistic, but it'd blend in well with black and dark bley while still catching the eye - but hey, you know I like colours, so I may not be quite so unbiased I'll dare to say, I'm not sure about that big buttress at the side of the entrance - it makes sense for it to be there, yet it took me a while to distinguish it from the rocks (the dark side of using dark bley.. sorry, stupid joke ) and it does stand out a bit as there is no way to texture it like the wall all around. as for the rest, the cheese sloped arch at the entrance is awesome, the angles of the different part make the whole thing much more interesting, but I'm literally in love with the half timbered and their roofs, in particular the one sticking out from the corner! no need to comment about your interiors, inspiring as usual. oh and really very nice seeing you writing a story! I don't think I had seen that yet - I was pleasantly surprised! ^^
  3. Really nice! I particularly like the texture on the wall as well as on the ground. I agree with Slegengr about the soil in the cutaway, it looks realistic and it nicely breaks the pattern. I love the guy with the rotten grape! xD
  4. nice to see your much waited first build, Brandon! though I'm not a fan of LDD, I find it pretty nice ^^ I second the others about wanting to be able to zoom in a bit more. also, nice story. I'm really curious to see where it goes!
  5. awesome! really like the shape of the base, the texture of the wall and, indeed, the colours you've picked. Would love to see it expanded [especially given the image you got inspired from]. literally in love with the feather birds
  6. really nice evolution of your previous one and nice to see you've put that LUGbulk to good use! ^^
  7. lovely wagon, love the cloth sticking out!
  8. ahh I remember seeing this - really nice architecture throughout, lovely landscape and awesome setting with the story!
  9. nice to hear he didn't drop in rank! looking forward to know what happens next!
  10. awesome build and love the way you write! .. but hey I guess I was too quick in reading all of the lore and now I can remember [or maybe I just missed it?] - what's the deal with the heir to Cedrica?
  11. I remember seeing this, love the houses!
  12. As the name implies, the lodge provides shelter for the local hunters, in the middle of the Avalonian forests. While the original building was, indeed, camouflaged with the trees around, to allow the hunters to conceal themselves, recent events have made the young Sten the only regular visitor in a while, causing the lodge to look slightly run-down. ------------------------------------- Hey guys, I've been pretty busy lately - a quick post for a quick entry to CCC, an Avalonian freebuild. I’m pretty sure I’ve made a mess with the [rushed] resizing, cropping etc. If anyone has any suggestions [for example, how to avoid having to cut off parts of the actual pic] for the next time, please feel free to drop a line. C&C most welcome as usual! ^^ P.S. With hindsight, I should’ve probably underlined the separation between the trunk of the small tree at the front left and the human-made structure somehow (most likely with colours)…
  13. @Kai NRG @Ecclesiastes awesome job both of you guys, it's much appreciated!
  14. awesome! very well written, intriguing story! as for the build, I love all the details as well as the [Nocturnian] landscape and the colour palette - you got me really intrigued!
  15. thanks John, really glad to hear ^^ and thanks for the suggestions - will keep in mind! thank you, really glad you like it ^^
  16. awesome, thanks! all is clear now. gonna have to edit my posts
  17. hmm really glad to see that your 'return' is starting to warm up! ^^ love the figs!
  18. hehe nice short story ^^ and as I said on Flickr: I really like the way you've textured only some parts of the wall. I reckon it's the first time I see that and it gives a really nice plaster-falling-down effect! ^^
  19. very nice angles, architecture and stonework!
  20. ah so you did better than me and managed to have the pics as links to Flickr - how did you do that?
  21. I think you nailed the elven architecture as well as the austere atmosphere ^^
  22. .. those 'lacking' trees just make me want to build more myself! o.o oh and I love the window on the tower.
  23. neat landscape. master rockwork [not only snow, uh? ]
  24. awesome build! I love all the details and the architecture throughout!
  25. I'd texture the base, but the architecture around the statue is really nice! ^^
