Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
en_zoo replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
ahh! finally revealed the mystery of where those capes and banners come from! I might be interested in some myself - I remember seeing one the same of what you used in the link you've posted above, but with the Black Falcon shield, or does my memory play jokes on me? .. do we have any way to see a list or something of what's up for grabbing? -

thanks for specifing. I'm kind of stuck with my current (biggish) build at the moment, I'll see if I can make it for the deadline ^^ -
Nocturnus Minichallenge II: Paying Tribute
en_zoo replied to MassEditor's topic in Guilds of Historica
oh man this is more accessible, given my bricks. plus I love the idea. hmmm what's the colour you use for swampy water? olive green? oh and does Nocty actually have 'normal' human civilians (minifigs) or only orcs and stuff? -
brilliant! I don't think I'll be able to participate, but this is gonna be perfect for me to see how challenges work and everything! ^^

wow man this is beautiful! I particularly like how you've solved the angle between the 2 roofs, as well as the interior - must be cosy!
-
man you even have an interior! I think you should stick with big MOCs rather than going back to vignettes

can't you use round 1x1 trans blue or 'diamond' pieces instead? those work pretty well too. -

@Titus - thanks! [lol it was actually pretty easy, I was trying to use that together with the link button] @Henjin - thanks, that was quick! and hey it looks much more populated than I thought, I'm gonna need to give it a deeper thought. @The Maestro - maybe I shouldn't be giving advice, but hey it looks nice as it is if you ask me. Maybe just change something in the water just to give it some movement? -
Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Greetings Avalonians, please allow me to introduce Laesonar Half-Elf. A couple of more pics: https://www.flickr.c...157672895240376 Laesonar is a skilled warrior, trained to use double weapons, being katanas his favourite. While his physical strength is only slightly above average, his speed and agility are rather impressive and, so far, matched only by few. He can also count on high developed senses - his eyesight, hearing, taste, touch and sense of smell are definitely unprecedented. His appearance gives away a good deal about his origins, which yet remain shrouded in mystery as he has lost his long-term memory. However, he can clearly recall his recent training with an alchemist somewhere safe in Avalonian forests. The exact location, though, as well as the name of said alchemist, he doesn't seem to be able to recall. At least for now. Note - I assure things will start to make sense after a couple of MOCs ^^ As for claiming land, Laesonar won't be there for a while, but I can still give an indication. I'll see if I can upload a map, but meanwhile: do we have an updated map of Avalonia? I don't seem to find it. P.S. Looks like I'm not able to have the pic appear in the post . Need to head out right now, but if anyone was so kind to leave a short how-to, it'd be much appreciated. -
hehe that banner and its story have to be my favourite part!
-
hehe ^^ thanks guys, I reckon I'm almost ready to go

all right, thanks everyone for the info! speaking of heraldry, I do have a couple of doubts: 1 - is it like in LoR where you always have to show the banner of your guild in every MOC [even if a banner is totally out of place..]? 2 - do I have to pay attention to the heraldry on lego shields? Say, for example, that my character kills off a random guy he meets who wields a Black Falcon shield - will this provoke the rage of half of Mitgardia? thanks in advance

The Exetrius Saga (9): Festival of the Ranks (part 1)
en_zoo replied to Exetrius's topic in Guilds of Historica
awesome! can't wait to see what this Enzan is up to :D as well as the others, indeed. as for the build, I really like the figs' posing. as for creating a battle scene for it, it's a nice idea but I don't think I can reproduce the arena with the bricks I have here - plus my character is currently lost in a fo.. ahem.. I mean my character hasn't appeared yet [<-- yes, it was meant to be a teaser ].- 14 replies

hey guys, sorry to change topic, but I'd like some input from you about which Guild to choose [yes, the moment has come]. So here you have my thoughts so far: 1 - all the Guilds are awesome, so no preference here. 2 - given the architectural and landscape style I'm interested in building right now, I'd lean to Avalonia [classic EU middle age and especially forests at the moment], but 3 - the story I have in mind for my character doesn't fit at all with the Avalonian principle of claiming land. 4 - though I do intend to expand my collection, I also intend to stick to forests for a while and I have no bricks available for, say, snow, desert or swamps. --> a) is there a way I could be an Avalonian without claiming any land [at least for a long while]? b) alternatively, is there an area with forests (can't find it on the map) that is part of another Guild, but possibly close to the Avalonian border so that I could have my character appear there but then travel through Avalonia? Is this even possible/allowed? c) any other useful suggestions about all this? thanks in advance for your time guys!

following along! ;) nice idea to focus on something different from a static built. and it fits perfectly into the story.

already read all of your saga actually haven't commented there because I didn't wanna dig up old stuff, so good that you've given me the chance to do so here - I loved it, honestly. can't wait to read (and look at) the rest. I was particularly impressed by the fact that you manage to keep every episode complete yet pretty short: that's gonna be a problem for me . in the same way, I've appreciated the small builds. Loved the scene with the half-sabre-tooth tigers and Deliora.. purrrr lol oh and thanks everyone for the welcome ^^
-
as I said on Flickr: texturing, proportions, use of colours, different yet cohesive styles for the houses, the natural feeling you get from it.. this is inspiring to say the least. lol that makes 2 of us..

Hello Exetrius, thanks for the welcome, for the update and for spending your time to put the links together! It'll be most helpful. As for the personal stories, I'm sure that's gonna be the icing on the cake. [A lot of icing!] and hehe, you did well to advertise - will be checking that out too

oh well this is my 10th post.. doing so only because I can't wait to edit my profile x) hope no one minds..

wow guys, it was an EPIC reading yesterday (till late night) with the Kali civil war! <3 so, what I'm missing about the Story is what happened in both Mitgardia and Nocturnus after the fights (though I can gather that Nocty is currently split into two?). so yes, if anyone could please point me in the right direction, it'd be great ^
