Hi everyone. I’ve not participated in contests or been active for a while, life tends to get in the way, but I’d like to submit an idea for a contest. I was thinking about a contest around the theme of “time”. Build something that has a relation with time. so one could build a clock, a lunar calendar, a timer, a time machine, or any other crazy ideas. It would be mechanically challenging and could bring interesting ideas and concepts forward. Anyway, just a thought!

Interesting to read the side hobbies. Aside from Lego, my other activities are heavy metal concerts, gardening, hiking and mainly spending time with family and friends. I find it increasingly difficult to find time for Lego, and can barely keep up with all the set they release. So creating MOCs takes me ages and I often give up half way.

I like these mini loops approach. Somehow I need to start putting some together. Have you considered chaining all your designs into a loop?

Another nice little module. For instructions from LDD, it is not easy as far as I know. Personally I used LDraw + LPub. It was quite a learning curve and takes time. Another option is Stud.io from BrickLink. I just finished a model and the tool is quite nice. You can set the steps for instructions in there and then get them once you upload the file to your workplace on BrickLink.

Thanks. Yes it can easily lift if you manage to control the fork. The extension would struggle in high position with heavy loads.

Hi everyone, For the past year, I have been working on this MOC, making very slow progress mostly due to a lack of time. About a month ago, I finally reached the point where I considered it finished. It's not perfect and many things can be improved, but I am happy with the current state. Enough to finally make some pictures and a video. The MOC is based on the Manitou TMT 25S. It is a hydraulic forklift, one that hooks on back of trucks, but uses an unusual design. A picture from the original: It also combines some interesting hydraulic functions which I tried to carry over to my model. In the end, this is the list of functions I managed to implement: Manual steering, control placed at the back, behind the cabin - rear wheel goes 360 degree. Pneumatic compressor using an M motor and two pumps Electric switch to control the compressor Pneumatic functions for: Boom elevation Boom Extension Fork control Front outriggers Boom lateral adjustment Initially, my intent was to have an auto switch for the compressor. However, after many trials, I could not calibrate it properly so that enough pressure remained in the circuit to control all functions properly. The switch would not always return in position when the pressure was dropping, making some functions such as raising the boom unusable. So I replaced the assembly with a manual switch which can easily be controlled when air is required. To smooth out the functions, I used an air tank which is hidden below the control valves in the back. Overall, the functions are working well. The main issue is the control of the fork, which really needs better smoother valves to have finer control. Also, since it is pneumatic, It does not maintain its position when elevating or lowering the boom. I could not find a way to do that while keeping the boom extension which is required. I have no words to express how mind blowing this model is. Not only does it look awesome, but it functions so well and so smoothly. In the video, it feels that it pull loads and drive around with ease, really incredible engineering. I would really enjoy to know the story behind the creation, how did you approach the project? how long did it take? how did you make the design? and also how the various modules are built, such as the turntable. Again, truly amazing, great to see you on Eurobricks!

Sometimes flea markets can really pay off. I just bought 8275 motorized bulldozer for 30€. It did need 10€ in brickink to replace some missing parts. It works great and has barely been played with from the look of the pieces.

I would also be interested. I've been looking for something like this for a while. The only additional part to complete this, for my interest, would be a proximity sensor like shown for the train but with a compact form factor (or mechanical like the mindstorm sensor). Then one could do some nice automation.

Just ordered one, that's a great offer for the release day. It makes this already reasonable set a really good deal. Looking forward to start the build!

This is a nice and original model, and on top it's a C model, great job. The overall design looks good and functions are working well. The scissor lift seems to bend a little under stress, but I understand the challenge with limited pieces. Do you have a lot of pieces leftover from the original 42043?

Thanks Jim for the excellent review once again, I was really looking forward to it and it really helps making a set evaluation together with Sariel's video review (also excellent by the way). Overall, I still have the same sentiment, the set is not too bad, some nice functions, 6 tractor tires, curve panels in black, cool outriggers. But it really suffers from the color pallet and hefty price tag, EUR 199 would fit better indeed. I have all flagship since 42009, and this is really a let down after last year's offering, which was exceptional. Maybe this will be the first year I will not buy any 2H sets, unless massive discounts are in the market.

What an amazing build, really brilliant design, definitely deserved HOF. It's really nice that you consider sharing the design, I look forward to check that chassis!

From my experience, I got the Quercetti Marbles (which are plastic 14mm). They work very well, no holes to mess with the mechanisms. They were also recommended on Planet GBC. Search on Amazon for "Quercetti Marbles Refill 100 pieces" to get an idea on pricing. I did not know PV-Productions makes some as well, that's another good option.

This is an outstanding attachment for the class, great execution, functions and love the tires. A shame for the steering but it does not take away how cool this build is.
