Digitalisation is complete. I submitted it to Rebrickable. It was quite a challenge to put in LDD, but I hope I made it properly. Only issue, no pneumatic, so the cylinders are placeholder assemblies and no piping. Hopefully the pictures on my Bricksafe accounts are enough to see how it goes.

Personally I really enjoy the new design, fresh and modern, it is a pleasure to browse both on PC and mobile. Every small change is making it better (contrast, quote button, etc.) And I applaud the team for patiently listening and considering all the feedback from the users! I look forward for the new themes in my favorite forums... -
Thanks for the answer . Should I then expect it to be closed on the 31st? Some background for the question: It's a long holiday weekend here and I will be away, so I just don't want to miss the timeslot to post the entry...
-
Sorry for the basic question, first contest. How long is the entry topic normally open to post our model?
-
Thanks! I am planning to digitalize it in LDD and share it on Rebrickable.

Here is an update finally on the progress. I really wish I could post more often but time is limited. After playing around for a week with scissor mechanism, I then switched to a different solution. In principal, the scissor mechanism was working well. I was using 9 studs long liftarms and got the exact linear distance required, all fitting in the limited space below the ejector ramp. However, after fitting the body work, it was not reliable enough. Due to some sideway force coming from the action, it had the tendency to jam easily in the first 2cm of extension. The end of the liftarms would get stuck into a groove in the panel, or a gap between liftarms, and nothing would move anymore. This was happening two often (around 50%). I tried various fixes but to no avail. The body needed rework to remove all grooves and then the complete outlook was just not nice anymore. I also tried with shorter liftarms. No more jams, but too much game in the lego pieces meant it was not retracting all the way, so that solution was abandoned as well. In the end, I went with an improved version of my lever mechanism which now provides the right extension, see pic below (after a lot of fiddling around ). This project is tested by my young one and needs to work well... I also added some details in the cabin and switched to a small steering wheel (feels better to me, although I wish I had an intermediate size). I added some cover around the pneumatic valves as well. I feel that it should extend all the way bellow the battery box, any thoughts to improve that look? I welcome any tips! Thanks.

Interesting idea, the current mechanism pushes the Base of the ejector and therefore relies on that space. Following the remarks yesterday, I reconsidered the scissor approach and made a quick one to check the concept, it may work but I got to try. Unfortunately I have limited time till next week, I'll post an update as soon as I have something. Thanks again for the suggestions, it helps!

I also used Sariel"s scaler for my model, really a great tool. Thanks for the tip on the scissor lifts. I actually tried that approach initially but could not fit it in the available space. I then went with a lever mechanism which is the current design. I'll give it another try with the scissor again, some other arrangement came into mind. It would be great if I could extend the ejector completely.

Fully agree, but I could not find a way yet and settled with a solution at 80%. I plan to have a look at it again but 30 studs linear movement from approximately 5 stud pneumatic stroke is not easy. With very limited space behind it. I welcome ideas though.

I had one, but only for test purpose. I've made a new one tonight, better but I am still not that please with the look. I also made a quick video to show the main functions. The final video will show also the suspensions and engine at work, but I first need to figure out a better camera/lighting setup. Comments welcome!

+1 on this, the new Quote button position is really better (at least for me), and getting the menu immediately on mobile without scrolling across feels good. Great job once again!

Thanks, loosely is the right word, I tried to get most of the shape with reference pictures. The cabin actually tilts to reveal the engine, got to make a picture of that.

Hello everyone, Here is some progress on my TC10 project submission. Basically all the functions are now implemented and working, including the pusher inside that gave me a real headache. The upper body work is complete, I now want to rework some lower part around the battery pack and some cabin features. Steering HOG is the orange light on top behind the cabin. I will try to make a video soon to show some of the functionality but I need to redesign the bin (the test version is very ugly). The functions work well and dumps every time. Any comments/advise welcome! I decided to go with the cylinders inside for the rear door, they really look nice when installed on the outside (too large).

So glad that went through, definitely picking it up if the design stays like this.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Minique85 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
If we consider the price could be Danish Krone, that would put this set around 360 EUR, quite a set. I expect also a park with an official building, post office, police or museum... Really looking forward for more details! -
Thanks, that worked for my posts, but not for others' which I can't edit of course.

Finally got some time to work on this after a couple weeks of holidays. The front axle has been rebuilt from scratch with a new steering link. The chassis was just too high to accommodate the low profile cabin required in the front. I also sticked with a 6 inline engine since I ran into issues with the suspension when trying to fit the V6. I went then with the cabin design, trying to create something similar to the MACK suggested earlier. The lifting arms were then fitted and the main body designed to get a sense of size (including the cylinder for the top trap door, mounted on the inside). The color scheme is derived from the limited selection of pieces I have, I am fairly satisfied with it. The arms are functional and the setup works well. I made a test with a "technic" garbage bin and it dumps in the right spot. Here are some pictures ( I need to work on lighting and proper camera settings for the final submission, it looks better in real life). The gap between the body and the cabin will be completed once I figure out the pusher mechanism... The doors open and are locked using the blue liftarm. Dumping position. I realised also that the older and newer mini cylinder version have a slightly different length when out (as you can see in the picture). Looks like I have an excuse to get the Volvo EW160E quickly now. Any comments welcome!

On the positive feedback, love the sound alert and the popup that loads new posts without reloading the page. Also, performance wise, it seems to be much faster at loading between topics pages, this is a real pleasure. Question: I see my TC10 topic has not been migrated yet, the BBcode is all visible. Can I still add a post or should I better wait?
-
I personally think that they have done an amazing job in migrating such a large forum in such a short time, especially for a team of volunteers in their free time. So great job guys! For the feedback, I like the new clean and plain look. The mobile version is working well on my Sony Z2 and looks better than the previous version in my opinion. The only remarks: I feel the quote and + sign are taking too much space/attention on each of the post, and a slightly darker gray background would outline each post better.

Small progress only so far (limited time) but here are the first pneumatics installation. I modified the chassis connection to the front, the previous version was not strong enough. The pump is mounted in the chassis, and the air distribution is laid out. I'm still working on the old valves installation. Three valves on one side (Group of two for the lifting, single one for the cover) New front chassis connection and old valves to control the rear door and pusher.
