So someone on Reddit has purchased the Quidditch set in WHSmith in the U.K. i think this pretty much confirms my theory that the sets get released July 1st in the U.K. along with the Brickheadz

The LEGO Movie 2: References Predictions?
Whovastron replied to Dorayaki's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
If there was to be a Doctor it would definitely be 13. It would have been 4/5 months since her series starts, and the BBC have already begun strongly moving away from using the 12th Doctor in merchandise. Peter Capaldi himself has even said he doesn’t want any more action figures made of himself. -
Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
Whovastron replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Be patient, it’s going to be a while before anything is leaked. -
I don’t mean that they’ve been pulled forward for the U.K., just saying that they are releasing earlier than the rest of the world.

Well actually the Danish store calendar lists all 3 as August. And the event in the US also listed them as August. So I believe that the U.K. may in fact be getting atleast Harry and Hermione early, but not the rest. (fingered crossed this applies to the whole theme, highly unlikely, but I’m gonna dream dammit!

The rumoured Knight Bus Set was the Hogwarts Express. And there is no 3rd Fantastic Beasts Set. The confirmed sets are: Aragog’s Cave Grindlewald’s Escape The Quidditch Match Newt Scamander’s Suitcase The Hogwarts Express Hogwarts Whomping Willow Hogwarts Great Hall CMF series with 22 Minifigures ’Bricktober’ Minifigure pack with Slughorn, Boggart Snape, Madame Hooch and Umbridge and then with the rumoured D2C, that should be everything we are getting in 2018 for the Wizarding Word theme(s)

Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but the Catalog also mentions that the next series of CMF will be released August, so it will be launching with the sets!

I didn’t mean Great Hall, I meant the D2C. I know it’s unlikely but you never know.

There’s 2 VIP early access sets for July, any chance one could be Hogwarts? I’ve seen August, October, November and December mentioned in this thread.

Pretty sure it would be the Philosophers Stone but that is a good point, I remember seeing something about the set numbers of the D2C and CMF being linked, so they are supposed to partner eachother

I think there’s potential for a polybag with the D2C release (like Mr. freeze and Winter Soldier with the batcave and Helicarrier respectively) it would probably be tied to Hogwarts, so probably a ghost or teacher

That’s just not how Lego operates. You’d have to get thousands and thousands before they’d listen. and you talk about milestones etc. There was no set for Back to the Futures 30th anniversary, and only 1 set for Jurassic Parks 25th anniversary. Even Star Wars didn’t really get a 40th anniversary set. And the best said about the 60th and 40th anniversaries held by Lego this year the better. the only way any more Doctor Who content will happen is if, when the show returns, it is a huge success. But not just in the UK, but America. In recent years the popularity has dwindled drastically, you’re certainly overselling it

I think the point of the reversible banners is to replicate the ‘change of decoration’ scene in the first film. Dumbledore changes the banners but they literally just morph

These sets are definitely tailoured more towards accuracy compared to previous incarnations, but in this instance they’ve just added in the basilisk for extra play value, it doesn’t detract from the set as a whole as it’s a side build. in previous sets we’d have scenes and characters and designs from 3 different movies smashed into one set (e.g: 2010 Hogwarts Express, Hagrids Hut And Hogwarts Castle). Due to the sudden resergence in Harry Potter nostalgia from an older crowd that were kids when these films first arrived, the accuracy to designs and scenes is far more accurate. But as ever, Lego does have to put the child audience first.

I don’t think it’s likely they would advertise it as the D2C is supposedly a long way off yet. Additionally I think there are complications when it comes to advertising exclusive sets, usually boxes and instructions don’t advertise exclusives or D2C sets. For example the Jurassic World sets don’t advertise the T-Rex or JP Raptor on the back of the boxes for the mix and match feature. D2C wise, the Star Wars UCS sets are never advertised in regular instruction booklets, and Ninjago City wasn’t advertised in booklets for the Ninjago theme. personally I think the closest the D2C could come to replicating the parts in the summer sets is a 2nd half to the main tower that can be connected to the back, possibly featuring the small staggered tower that contains Dumbledore’s office, which is mysteriously absent from the main tower

Wizarding World of Harry Potter Wishlist
Whovastron replied to Falconfan1414's topic in LEGO Licensed
As I’ve said in the main thread; I expect the D2C to be a modular assortment of different buildings that can be attactched in various configurations using miscellaneous smaller walls and towers, to give us the option in how we display our Hogwarts. i expect these to be the buildings we see in the set, and for the set to be based on designs of the building from Deathly Hallows/ Fantastic Beasts: The Astronamy Tower the Bell towers The clocktower the Dark tower the building that connected to the great all via the viaduct bridge in films previously the owlery maybe the library building from the earlier films, would make for a good interior focused building. along with these buildings, I’d say there will be a few smaller towers and walls, similar to what’s seen in the Whomping Willow Set. Along with a greenhouse or two, and maybe the main bridge. interior room I expect we’ll see are; the library, defence against the dark arts room, Fluffy’s room, Slythering Common room, A bathroom (with the sink from CoS and maybe the bath from the prefects bathroom) -
If we go down the slippery slope of boxarts predicting sets (looking at you Star Wars UCS), both Hogwarts Set boxes feature the Astronamy tower quite prominently in the background, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is one of the buildings in the D2C, it is the tallest building in the version of Hogwarts seen in its last 3 appearances. for the D2C, I can very much see what we receive being various buildings with walls that can be modular and attached in various configurations. I expect to see these buildings : Astronomy Tower, The Clocktower, the building usually connected to the great hall by a bridge, the bell towers (the focus of the 2011 Set), The Owlery, greenhouse(s), the main bridge(that the statues defend), and a few miscellaneous tall towers and walls to attach here and there.

The next wave would be December/ January, and it’s gonna be devoted to The Lego Movie 2, with the next 2 rumoured to be the next regular series and Disney series 2. i love Doctor Who, but apart from maybe a Brickheadz of the 13th Doctor down the line, this will never happen, and a twitter campaign won’t do much to change that

I think we’re probably gonna get a spring wave for HP, and then a summer wave, with the following year having a winter wave, and then another summer wave with some FB sets. i think the way Lego have set this up is to have it up there with Star Wars and Superheroes as their tentpole licences. Why would the Lego Movie 2 theme affect HP?

[Poll] What do you do with new sets?
Whovastron replied to mocbuild101's topic in General LEGO Discussion
As a kid I’d end up canabalising them eventually, a lot of rare sets ended up lost in pieces. Since about 2013 though I simply build and display
