  1. I’ve got one reserved at Argos, but not tried through Shop@home
  2. I can only find Harry and Hedwig on Argos, are the others there too??
  3. If you don’t want them then sure, it will definitely cover you for this wave. But those sets are only gaining value over time despite these new ones.
  4. okay it seems I got my facts mixed around. In Goblet Of Fire - Half Blood Prince, the wand is the lighter brown colour that Lego is representing here, almost a bone colour. However, a quick google reveals that the prop was actually darkened for the final two films (apparently to reflect its dark usage by Voldermort). When looking on google images there are both light and dark replica versions of the wand. So I guess here it’s down to personal preference. I personally always remember it being the lighter colour.
  5. I’ve never watched Voltron and know nothing about it but, much like Ninjago City last year, this set is so brilliantly designed that I want to get it as soon as I can!!
  6. Well in the films (especially 7&8) it is depicted in a more tan/bone colour, definitely not brown. I would be annoyed if it was brown
  7. I was there yesterday and they stock the top trumps and trivial pursuit. They trust Lego as a brand so will very likely stock them. They do go back on their beliefs sometimes though; they didn’t stock Doctor Who products for about 5 years, but returned to stocking them
  8. Well to huge fans of Voltron and James Bond/Aston Martin, they are not useless
  9. Does anyone know any more info about this event? Is it just press that can go
  10. Horcruxes: tom riddles diary (comes with dobby) ravenclaws diadem hufflepuff goblet slytherin locket tom riddles ring nagini (comes with voldermort) Harry deathly Hallows: elder wand (comes with Dumbledore) invisibility cloak (comes with harry) and resurrection stone (not here but is in the snitch at one point)
  11. I don’t get why people don’t like the new Dobby, the old one had huge dead eyes, this one looks more natural and warm like the Character. The shape of his mouth also really evokes the character too
  12. Saw a few people were curious about feeling for the figs, so made a quick “feel-guide” for what to look out for... Harry Potter - Hedwig and larger hair Harry Potter (with cape) - absence of accessories, short legs Hermoine Granger - cat Luna Lovegood - 2x3 tile Ron Weasley - rat Voldemort - Nagini and dress piece Albus Dumbledore - bowl shape, dress and beard Dobby - unique head, book Dean Thomas - flat piece Cedric Diggory - Tri-wizard cup Cho Chang - owl and hair Neville Longbottom - Mandrake pieces Draco Malfoy - broomstick Professor Trelawney - tea cup, dresspiece and unique hair Professor Flitwick - megaphone Mad-Eye Moody - two hairpieces, stock and bottle Newt Scamander - suitcase and Niffler Tina Goldstein - hotdog and hair Queenie Goldstein - pastry Jacob Kowalski - suitcase and 1x1 tiles Percival Graves - alternate hair Credence Barebone - 1x2 tile
  13. The medium legs then, my point is by OotP they should be full sized really
  14. I imagine Order of the Phoenix, as Harry is a lot shorter than Cedric in GoF. It is rather odd as to why Luna has short legs.
  15. They’re all based on Prisoner
  16. The big 3 are based on Prisoner of Azkaban.
  17. Alternate hair for mad eye makes me think alternate David Tennant face! 10th Doctor purist Figure wooo EDIT: just seen the leaflet, definitely a Barty crouch alternate face, gonna make us Doctor Who fans happy to get a David Tennant face
  18. It seems that Harry, Ron and Hermione are based on Prisoner Of Azkaban; Hence why harry and Ron have longer hair and Hermione’s is more ‘tidy’
  19. The exclusives I mentioned are part of a line that sells in both the U.K. and the US, but has had SDCC exclusives as part of it. Just like there being a Marvel Legends exclusive boxset or suchlike. I was just using the exclusives as an example as you said they’d be better off selling at a U.K. convention, it’s just not the case. They’d do just as well at SDCC. I’m not saying Doctor Who is as popular as Star Wars or anything, but it isn’t anywhere as niche as you want it to be.
  20. Well there have been many, many Doctor Who merchandise exclusives (including a limited boxset of 13 incarnations of the Doctor) that we’re exclusives to SDCC and sold out. There are many niche properties that have SDCC exclusives that sell out, and Doctor Who isn’t that niche. Now I’m not saying I agree that an idea like this would work or ever happen, BUT I do think MAB you underestimate how popular it is in America, it’s not such a worldwide thing, but it does have a considerably large US fanbase. The ther company also produced sets. They crashed and burned quickly, but that was more due to the quality and design than the property i would love more Doctor Who stuff, I don’t think for a second this campaign idea would work. The only way we could get more stuff is if the Doctor is indeed in The Lego Movie 2 like was rumoured, even then it will likely just be a Minifigure. Or if Series 11 really explodes the popularity. I would expect a test of the waters with a Brickheadz maybe. That’s the 13th Doctor yeah, the new series starts October time
  21. Either buy them online sperately from bricklink/eBay etc. Or feel the packets
  22. This Set looks fine. The mech is well built, but mechs just don’t seem Batman to me. The poison ivy build is nice. but the Minifigures, they’re fine-good, but I look at these and then Star Wars and just don’t understand why these Minifigures get the shot end of the budget. Star Wars is for vehicles, even the new Harry Potter sets are more for the buildings and vehicles and beasts than Minifigures. Superhero sets are for the Minifigures; we get a batmech and ivy plant because they need to shoehorn the figures in a set. So why, oh why, are they so plain? One small character in solo gets a moulded head and arms and yet firefly gets what is obviously Ant-Man’s helmet for the Avengers 4 Sets? It works fine, but why can’t he have his own mound? And poison ivy...the hair from the Batman Movie is amazing, but here they couldn’t even be bothered to use the printed version of this piece?? And it re-uses mantis’ face? Why? This is somehow the worst poison ivy we’ve had, even comparing to the 2006 one. i don’t like moaning like this, but when every Minifigure from solo seems to get new moulds and printing everywhere, why do superhero waves like infinity War (a film way bigger than solo) get such lackluster Minifigures? okay, rant over. Despite my moaning, for the superhero line this is a nice set. Seeing as the only D.C. film next year is Wonder Woman; I predict a 3-6 Set Justice League wave, and then batman sets for the summer (with a Wonder Woman Set Or 2), pretty much a repeat of the 2015 and 2018 format
  23. Also a Smyths toystores
  24. It doesn’t really say there’s no chance of it being a set, it’s more the interviewer assumes that it would be in this wave.
  25. It also needs to be atleast twice as big as that model
