That is tough, Lego really went all out. I really believe they put everything into this theme to make it sell. Hagrid is a great update, Richard Harris Dumbledoore is great, Moody is great, Graves is great, Newt from the minifig series is really good. I dunno, there’s so many great ones.

Also, Lego were probably playing it safe by making sure they covered a lot of people’s favourite characters in the first wave incase it didn’t catch on. This wave is a huge risk for Lego, to bring back Harry Potter again without a new movie is risky, the hobbit shared characters and actors with LOTR, unlike fantastic Beasts, which shares dumbledore, but that’s about it. And it’s a theme they’ve had to kill quite a few times before. Just incase it crashed and burned, I think they wanted to make Die Garda happy, giving us 50+ Minifigures in the first year.

That’s not really accurate. Both superheroes lines have had quite consistent wave sizes, Jurassic World got a bigger second wave (granted a different movie, but still). Speed Champions has kept a consistent amount too, as has minecraft. Next year I’d say we’ll get atleast the same amount, if not more, considering we could have 2 waves

I definitely want more HP sets. But it probably wouldn’t affect it. Harry Potter is the more popular franchise. So they’re gonna obviously do atleast as many. It would just be nice if say, if we got 10 sets next year, it was 6HP and 4FB.

I really hope we do get more sets for the crimes of grindlewald, some of the set pieces and creatures look really great. The seaweed water lion dragon thing would be good as a set

LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Whovastron replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Death Star Escape sounds interesting. Is it a playset? The detention cell block? Obi-wan vs Vader? Very intriguing -
The box arts look very cgi to me, almost fake, much like the spongebob and avatar boxarts from back in the day, maybe that’s an aesthetic choice due to the video game nature? anyway, I have zero interest in the game, but as I predicted, there’s plenty of great builds and minifig parts that can be implemented elsewhere. Love the mechs

BrickHeadz 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Whovastron replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don’t know, here in the U.K. it just seems like more places are cashing in on it. Sure there are lots of funko pops that sell poorly, but there’s also lines that sell extremely well. HMV, a DVD/Blu-ray and music store, now has isles devoted to Pops because they’re so popular. i think Lego have a good idea though, as it seems over here they spread out the releases. Each supermarket seems to have an exclusive 2-pack; Incredibles for Sainsburys, Jurassic for Tesco and Minecraft for Asda. I know other toy retailers stock these, but it seems in the ‘general’ retailers Lego are spreading out what they’ve got pretty well, adding a hunt aspect to the collecting, which I kinda like.- 238 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Whovastron replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
The spider-mech doesn’t even look to bad to me. It doesn’t make any sense, but it doesn’t look awful as a Lego vehicle. Now I may be going mad, but I think now that the Lego Batman Movie is over, the Superheroes lines are getting better designed sets. The infinity War and Justice League sets we’re fine. But the ant-man & the wasp vehicle is such a great build, and the aquaman Set looks great, as do the upcoming Batman and Spider-Man sets. I think I’m willing to forgive the lack of detail in the Minifigures if the builds themselves are well done -

Too many hulkbusters imo. The 2015 version was awful, last years two attempts were fine but not great. The ‘minifig’ scale version was still way too big. I hope they don’t waste a whole set on another hulkbuster. If there is one, just make it a smaller mech in one of the sets, not the sole focus -
BrickHeadz 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Whovastron replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
I’m gonna predict atleast 4 Lego movie characters, probably Emmet, Lucy, the doll character atleast. i think they are steadily ramping up the Brickheadz releases, and experimenting with themes. I think next year we’ll get probably double of what we got this year from the theme, Lego are probably aiming for Funko amounts eventually. Along with Gravity Falls, I expect Overwatch, Toy Story, Alladin, Avengers 4. I expect Captain marvel will be one for Avengers 4, and hopefully Thor and Hawkeye to complete the team. A lot of Dimensions themes could get characters, I could see powerpuff girls, with a single pack and a double pack, wizard of oz with a Dorothy and Toto pack, Doctor Who with the 13th Doctor, and maybe a Cyberman, Scooby and Shaggy pack, ET also, would anyone love it if they brought in vehicles? Much like what they do with Funko pops, a chibi version with a space for a Brickheadz character. The Delorean, Ecto-1, Flying Ford Anglia, batmobile- 238 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Whovastron replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don’t see a moulder head working for Goblin, what we have works perfectly with the lego system look. if this new figure had dual moulder legs I’d say best so far, as the skin tone is better IMO, and I prefer the bold purple to what we got in the bridge set. However the lack of dual moulding still places that version higher for me. Although this new juniors version is better than the previous juniors version. -

So, either a spidey line means we can get more comic based sets from other characters in the main line, or just more sets there in general. OR it means that the main Marvel line will have less releases, like how the Batman Movie meant DC only had like 2 sets that year... -

DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
Whovastron replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
That doesn’t make much sense, Spidey is part of the mcu so there’s no worry there, and Disney is in charge of the Spider-Man TV shows and merchandise. Sony literally just sign off on the mcu films and make their weird solo ones with venom etc, I’d course there’s into the spider-verse, but lego has cashed in on other companies films before (X-Men DOFP) So I’m gonna say that isn’t the reason for the change -

Buildable figures sound great. Those 6” figures keep catching my eye, so Lego versions would be very welcome. Hopefully they come with lots of accessories. -

Yeah, it’s fine to not like the set, but done dis the designers. They’re only doing what they’ve been asked to do. Well, actually, 2 regular sets and 1 juniors set. (venom mech set, spider mech set, dock ock set) I’m mixed on the wave. The venom mech is great, as is spider Gwen and Spider-Man. The large spider mech set is weird, but sand man and Vulture are great, vultures wings are like a more accurate mcu one. The juniors set is a juniors set. but man they could of done different villains. Classic electro, mysterio, rhino, hydroman, kingpin, mr Megative, Black cat, so many possibilities... -

The rebirth two face looks pretty boring to be honest. I wish they’d do the white and black version again. However, I found that taking the 2012’s head, and swapping it with the movie two-face. And then swapping the arm and leg for plainer pieces, creates a really awesome looking two face figure.
