  1. Microscale can be great for big structures. A hogsmead with Shrieking Shack would be great
  2. Yeah those book pictures are definately not what we’re gonna get. Kingsley and Tonks are basically just the video game versions, and Sirius is the 2004 version.
  3. Completely disagree, the Occamy looks great. Basilisk - completely brickbuilt can work - but a moulded head would be cool. Hungarian Horntail/ Ukrainian Ironbelly - moulded head/wings, rest brickbuilt. Buckbeak - moulded Fluffly - moulted head(s), brickbuilt body. thats how I think it should be for these creatures in Lego. I’d happily take a mostly brickbuilt dragon like the new Ninjago sets, over something like Smaug any day, just looks so much more interesting (although I much prefer moulded dinosaurs to brickbuilt ones, so take that as you will....)
  4. I’m gonna say it’s likely theyll be FB Sets, probably just too spoilery to be released now. Think Credence and Dumbledore, they have yet to be in sets. as for HP, unlikely we’ll see a common room, considering it’s in the Whomping Willow Set. Right now I’d say the most likely sets are Hagrid’s Hut and the Knight Bus. But this thread is no place for wishlists.
  5. That seems quite realistic to me
  6. It’s very likely more of a case of that this is a huge risk for Lego, as they basically never do full waves for films that don’t have a new release coming (Fantastic Beasts hasn’t got the same name so doesn’t count). They probably put in as much as they could for the first wave so that if it got cancelled due to poor sales, fans would be happy with what they got. Quite smart really. I’m sure they’ll be able to make variants. Moody can be without his coat, Umbridge without her cardigan etc. It’s very likely gonna come here for £15 eventually
  7. I tried 2 Smyths and they’d both run out
  8. It seems they just had them in a tub and people were allowed to take as many as they wanted...
  9. They’d all run out at the store I went to
  10. How were they giving them away? Did you have to ask for it?
  11. Heading there now, will know soon enough
  12. Yes! My girlfriend had forgotten to give Marcus Flint his cape. And after trying for ages I actually used my teeth to get the head off. The hair covers most of the marks, but yet another reason I’ll be purchasing a second Quidditch Set. in the end I swapped the head with the other Slytherin player and it fitted fine.
  13. Will be quite interesting if it is a GWP. As it would make the most sense for it to be with Wizarding World products, but most people willing to spend a lot on these probably already have. It would be a tad annoying for those of us that have bought everything (minus Graves and the Harry polybag myself). Thankfully I want a second Express and Quidditch Set, So should be fine
  14. Why would someone photoshop that? its real, you can tell a mile off. And don’t worry it will come to U.K. Lego stores, you don’t need to buy it off someone. I bought The Lego brand store in a U.K. store before I’d even seen it mentioned on the Internet
  15. I think it will continue, I guess I s more of a case of Lego made enough to really sell it, as the theme was a big risk. Let’s not forget the sets (atleast Hogwarts) have been in development for 2+ years, back then HP wasn’t as big as it’s been this year
  16. That was a fake list, was pretty much debunked instantly.
  17. “Hats” off to myself for guessing the hat and dome pieces very out of left field. I’m very surprised that this is a thing. Will go well with Hogwarts, but..why? More and more it seems to me that HP isn’t intended to go further than this year, or atleast Lego weren’t certain it would, giving us some rendition of Diagon Alley and characters like Umbridge in a minifig pack!
  18. HP very likely won’t get an advent calendar. I could see a magazine happening, Jurassic World and The Lego batman movie got one.
  19. There haven’t been any Harry Potter Sets leaked? Dunno where that informations coming from
  20. I agree with experience. I’m quite ocd with building so I probably would have noticed it and it bugged me, but my girlfriend built that half of the set so I was blissfully unaware, and she had a lot less experience building sets (this was her first set over 1000 pieces) and she didn’t notice it, and it looks fine so I’m not gonna fiddle with it.
  21. @MAB That is fair criticism, I guess it just come down to difference in tastes. I’m happy to sacrifice the backside of the model and being able to look at any angle as I’m happy with the angle it’s intended to be displayed it. I also prefer the size of this model, when it was announced as micro, I was worried it would be much smaller like the model you’ve posted. That is a superb model, but I kinda wanted something huge, or atleast as big as the system scale sets, and again I’m happy to sacrifice more of the castle for the size of the section we got. The way I’m displaying the model is on a just above eye level shelf, so the facade of the front at that size looks perfect for what I wanted, but I can see where you’re coming from
  22. Just gonna have a little rant here. I don’t mean anything agains anyone but I’ve seen what I think is a lot of unfair criticism against this set and wanna share my view... See, I’m not a fan of the microfigs and interior. I mean it looks good, but I’m not going to use it, and the microfigs don’t work as well as the Helicarrier because the scale is way off. but people calling this Set bad because it is micro scale are just ridiculous IMO. It is essentially an architecture set of Hogwarts, and having a model of Hogwarts is what I want, so this is definately better for me. I still love having minifigs around the castle, but the system sets are there for that. However on the whole front of saying this is a good scale model, MAB you say that people who wanted that wouldn’t it and it wouldn’t work because of the interior, while that’s probably true for some. I’m just gonna display it from the front, there’s no other angle I think would work nomatter if it was fully enclosed or not, there’s not even a suggestion of interior. Now, yes if you wanna put it on a table that’s an issue, but if you really don’t like the interior...don’t put it on a table. having microfigs instead of minifigs is good grounds to be annoyed, that’s fine. You can even be annoyed that it’s not a system scale set or have system scale interiors like the super star destroyer. But even if you hate the micro-scale, it is still designed well and looks like the castle. I’ve seen people claiming it’s not accurate to the real model, but then say the great hall set is? That’s just saltyness because this is the one striving for accuracy. Again not trying to start an argument or anything, just my view. Mainly because I’m someone who wants just a scale model and the interior doesn’t bother me I thought my view might add something to the conversation.
  23. Well the D2C Hogwarts has 6020 pieces and is only slightly more expensive than this, and that has loads of cones and wedges and BURPS. The price here is solely down to the Star Wars licence. But this is really to be expected nowadays so the complaints don’t really hold much merit - people buy Star Wars and Disney slaps a premium fee on the licence, nothing new
  24. I must agree about the space to display this thing, it’s the boathouse that does it I reckon. It’s sticking over the edge of where I’ve got it, it doesn’t look too bad but it is a little annoying
  25. Because the mould very likely does not exist. And these bricktober packs don’t accommodate new moulds into their budget. The hairpiece is basically the same style as Dolores’ hair, and much more proportionate to minifigure style. I personally find the original quite odd looking, a part of Lego’s weird realism phase.
