  1. I mean, are they really filling that void? Rescue is cool, despite being the wrong colour, but the builds aren’t even from the movie, and just look silly
  2. Well that’s just as terrible as the rest of the sets. They couldn’t even get Rescue the right colour...
  3. The tire tracks are inaccurately sized, in one of the interviews a designer even says so
  4. Credit to U/Puresh1 on Reddit, definitely minifigure scale
  5. Did anyone notice in a Jurassic park designer interview he says he worked on an unsuccessful Batman vehicle. Maybe that was this set and it’s now cancelled?
  6. The incompatibility within just the set in its own that confuses me. The minifigures and gates are amazing to add to any Jurassic display, but then that could of been a £100 set...so I’m just getting an oversized T-Rex in there for an extra £120. Swap the T-Rex for a regular Rexy (but with an accurate colour scheme) and the two different vehicles and boom, you not only have my interest, you have my money day one
  7. Honestly with treats instead of a tracks it would be a perfect battank. got the set for £55 (down from £90) and it’s pretty nice. Much better than I thought it would be. The build is alright and it’s not as bad as it looks in-hand. And honestly it’s worth the price of admission for the minifigure alone
  8. I feel that. Never bought a Ninjago set in my life. But one day I saw Ninjago city in store and just had to buy it, looked so cool. Had no interest in the lore or movie, don’t even like the sequel set much, but damn that’s my favourite set ever.
  9. People are complaining about Rexy’s colours? I think this is the most accurate Rexy so far. The Fallen kingdom was to bright, Jurassic World too Orange, and 2019 too dark and grey. this one is perfect. Give us the moulded one in these colours and it would be perfect
  10. In stores and online
  11. The definitely seem to be being very open with this release
  12. That tunnels set would be a great 2nd set
  13. That other gate in the video is way too small to be minifig scale in my opinion, just look how small the card look when they drove through it i like the idea of rebuilding it using the pieces though, that might be what I do. That other one in the video has much better shaping
  14. In other words... ”you were so preoccupied with whether or not you could, you didn’t stop to think if you should”
  15. Er..have they not seen the movie? The gates are, if anything, too small. The gates in the movie are huge. Those gates are damn close to scale. The tire tracks are just way too big. I keep seeing people say they’re not to scale; first Just2Good now an actual designer, but they really are I don’t get how anyone can look at this image and think the gates are too big... the gates are actually a teeny bit under minifig-scale, and then the T-Rex is way about minifig scale. There’s 3 scales in this set...
  16. A Lego store figure pack would be awesome to get, not as an SDCC exclusive, but available in general stores. Nancy, Jonathan and Steve with some accessories like Christmas lights, baseball bat, Boombox. Something like that
  17. Went into that review with an open mind. I think I can definitely pass on that Rexy. I’ll either buy the set and sell it, or I’ll buy the gates and figs separately
  18. Most discounts are online anyway. Amazon almost always has sets on 20% off after a month or so of release. and @KevinMD was right, I was referring to Lego in general. D2Cs are almost never on discount, but I was referring to Lego as a hobby, as that was the context of the comment I was originally replying to
  19. I keep hearing people saying that people moan about wasting pieces on vehicles in large sets. It depends on context! in Avengers compound, the vehicles are a waste because they aren’t needed. But remember the classic 60s batcave? I don’t seem to remember anyone moaning about them in that set, because they worked! In this set a vehicle would have worked because it’s iconic and desirable and people would have bought the set just for that, me included. my 2 cents on the whole ‘it’s because they were expecting a visitor centre’ thing. For a lot of people yeah it probably was that. But I wasn’t expecting a visitor centre set at all, I said it in this thread many times. I just wanted a good Jurassic Park set that encompasses the first movie, and this isn’t that I’ve seen a lot on the internet to suggest otherwise tbh, it seems brickfan post amazon deals every day, and people are always saying they get 20% off in places like Walmart. But oh well
  20. The cars are iconic... the gates are iconic rexy is iconic Comparing one big spaceship is very different to different parts of a movie. People can have just the car if they want to. All I want is the gates and a car, I’m honestly not fussed about the characters, and I don’t even need the gates and car together Saying that if the cars were from Jurassic World they wouldn’t be iconic..well...yes, obviously. Jurassic World is a different and less iconic movie. its not just about scenes and storytelling. A lot of people just collect Star Wars vehicles, not the minifigures. I sold all the minifigures from the UCS Falcon cause I just wanted the vehicle, that’s the iconic part to me
  21. How does this set show that? A high-price vignette display piece of a 26 year old movie? There’s no play features in this set it’s literally for display... a visitor centre with cars would be more kid-friendly I hate seeing people complain that Lego is so expensive. Most of the time you can get it 20% off, and it’s nowhere near the other prices of other toys. Transformers for example, in 2009 ‘deluxe’ class figures were £10 and stood on average about 7” tall. Now, 9 years later, they are £25 and most are about 5” tall. That’s inflation, Lego has managed to keep their prices pretty much the same for the past 15 years.
  22. A little annoyed as I got the Porsche 2-pack just for that car, and would have preferred the silver scheme. But then again I got it for Christmas and it’s still another set in the collection so no harm done!
  23. I’ve not really thought about it before, but I think you’re right. Don’t get me wrong, most of the big sets in the last few years have been amazing - The Falcon, Apollo 11, Ninjago City, Cloud City. but Ninjago Docks, the wind turbine, the Taj Mahal rerelease, this, it might be a bit much. I think Lego just need to make sure that each set is the best it can be first. Don’t rush a Ninjago city sequel, give it a couple years and release something equal in quality. I don’t collect Ninjago, but the City is my only Ninjago set, and my favourite Lego set! But the docks...eh, doesn’t capture what is great about the first set to me. lego have potentially had 4 years to develop this D2C for Jurassic Park, and it is a nice set, it just isn’t really what people wanted. With themes like this, copy Stranger Things; pour everything you have into it and make the one stop buy for a casual fan, and a necessity for a Lego fan
  24. Marvel gets treated way worse than DC. I have collected almost every set from both since 2012, and DC has waaayyyy better stuff. For one the comics get represented better, the builds are better and less junior all round, and this wave beats anything marvel has had since 2017! So innceorrect. DCs 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018 & 2019 waves were primarily comic/cartoon based, not movies , and in 2017&18 there was also the Lego batman movie!
  25. It’s alright, it’s still great for what it is. I mean, that T-Rex does look amazing! I just don’t see it fitting in my display. The gates on the other hand, are they supposed to be size accurate to the minifig? Just2good says no, but the ones in the movie are huge, maybe you’ve made the tracks just a tad too big? (Although using the teeth/claw parts is really neat) it’s just a shame that some of the shaping seems to have to have been sacrificed for the interior detailing. if the set had been the gates, but no T-Rex and instead a tour vehicle and all the characters, I would have gone for it immediately
