Another solution, that I have done, is to make the curves banked. Simply by putting some bricks under the tracks on one of the sides, by doing this I am able to keep full speed through the curves, even with a 4 meters straight before the curves so the trains actually reaches full speed. Real railroad is made like this.

Has anyone made any thoughts about the wheel setup on the B-model? To me it might look like the are only using 10 wheels, 6 on the truck and 4 on the trailer, if not one of the trailer axels has twin wheels. Or the could be using 4 on the truck and 8 on the trailer, but that would seem rather strange. What do you think?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Traktor replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Here it is: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Detective-s-Office-10246?_requestid=4770657 -
I just opened mine, and it did not contain 2v receivers either. So I have sent a request to LEGO to get what i have paid for. Even though 1v might work just fine in this model, the graphics on the box clearly states that you will get 2v, so this just is not good enough LEGO. If this is the case for the whole first production LEGO might have screwed up big time.

I am currently building this excellent model, and have one question. Did you consider using an L-motor for lifting/lowering the outriggers? Because it seems like it would fit easily without any changes, and now it is capable of lifting it self when you put something under the outriggers. And at tips for those who does not have the rare extension wires, like me, it seems like you very well can use the not so rare cables with a switch that came with for ex. 8258. But this was probably obvious for most of you... And thank you so much for the instructions.

What does "Skupaj" mean? Kind of off topic, but does people here think that 42009 gives you ALOT more for your money than 42008? I know this is a trend with flagship sets, but especially the British price seems a little bit off, 149 pounds for 42009 and 99 pounds for 42008. At least I know which one of them I am getting...

I just ordered 42009 from Amazon UK, plus 42006, could not resist since it is almost half the price compared to Norway. Ended up paying 214 pounds for both. ETA Aug 1. - Aug 2. To other Norwegian here, I would recommend you to also buy from Amazon UK if you want it as fast and cheap as possible, since there are no signs from toysrus.no. Only 42009 shipped to Norway with customs dealt with and priority shipping, costs about 170 pounds, or about 1550 NOK. Not bad IMO.

Why is 41999 NOT worth buying
Traktor replied to peter_m's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Even though this is a set made by "one of us", it is never the less a product with commercial interest in focus. So yes, you should be able to be a little critical without being accused for being jealous or just trying to discredit the designer. And another thing that I find a little bit odd is that the only review of this on Eurobrick is made by the designer himself, it would have been much better if he had let someone more independent review it. And I know that people here tend to give positive feedback no matter what someone have put together, but let face it, we are all grown up people that can take some constructive critical feedback? Or am I wrong?- 36 replies

42009 and 42008 at amazon ?
Traktor replied to Lakop's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
And you have to wait 3 to 5 weeks before you get it, so I do not really see the point here? I expect to see them in most stores here in Norway early August. -
In Norway it is the opposite, the official price from Lego.com for the Unimog was 1699 kr, but Toys r us sold it for 1599 kr. So I expect Toys r us to sell it for 1799 kr and not 1899 kr as Lego.no does. Lego.no is in general more expensive than other retailers and especially other internet shops. And the shipping cost is, if I do not remember wrong, 200 kr or about 35 dollars. I have a lot of lego, but have not bought a single set from Lego.no because of this.

Lego Creator Expert 10234 Sydney Opera House
Traktor replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Why would this set make you interested in the architecture sets, when it is a creator set? Personally I think the architecture sets are just to small and over priced.- 127 replies

MB Trac - German tractor
Traktor replied to Balrog's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Great tractor, I could recognize it right away. I have one comment on the drawbar, I you want to keep it realistic it should not be flexible, since the hitch on a real tractor actually carries 1/3 of the trailer weight. The get the right angel you should rather have a flexible bogie on the trailer. -

Lego Technic 2h 2013
Traktor replied to sama's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Frankly I am not using that argument, my point is that for many people it is just a matter of prioritizing, take under consideration that most of use here are AFOLs. I for example would much rather spent my money on Lego, than waste in on beer, that for the record is ridiculously expensive here, even though you do not like med mentioning it. But of course this is just my opinion, and I can understand that others would look at it differently.- 902 replies

Best B-Models of Technic Sets?
Traktor replied to Kumbbl's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Using (eg; 2 * 1x4's, rather than a single 1x8) could also be to save money in some cases, rather than introducing the part that would make most sense. -
Lego Technic 2h 2013
Traktor replied to sama's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I do not want of offend anyone, but is 200$+ for something that you really want so much to come up with for a grown up with a decent income? It least I do not think it is so much for something that gives me this amount of joy, and compared to what other things in life cost, it is not really that much. To put things in perspective, take for example the price of a beer in a bar. Here I live a beer can cost as much as 18 dollars, only for half a liter. The 200$+ for this great toy that will last almost forever and give you and probably your children a whole lot more joy and pleasure, at least imho. Even though it is probably gone cost 360$ here in Norway, am I most certainly gone buy it.- 902 replies

How much do you spend on Technic?
Traktor replied to mobi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I do not know how much i spend in a year, but I just calculated that my Technic collection is worth/did cost about 6500 euros, but I have got some sets that I plan to keep and sell later on. Here in Norway the Unimog retails for 1700 kr, which at the moment equals to about 370 NZ, so you are not alone. The worst is that the crawler costs just as much as the Unimog, but in many, at least European countries, the crawler costs much less compared to the Unimog.
