  1. Technic is generally more popular in Europa than in USA, and most popular in Germany as you say. Most toy stores here in Norway carries Technic to, but of course their selection varies.
  2. I wish they would use the metal hook instead, and the hook on the picture actually looks kind of bent. Otherwise it looks like e great set, possible one of the best flagship sets, and of course a must buy. Any idea of what the B-model could be? Maybe just a different superstructure like on the 8421.
  3. To me it seems kind of strange to have suspension on a tele handler, because of the risk of tipping over especially when it does not have any form of outriggers.
  4. I guess he is in Norway, picked up 2 of them myself at 40% discount. I paid 600 kr which equals to 110 dollars, so still not that cheap, but much better than the original price of 1000 kr, and in some places even 1100 kr.
  5. I simply just put each bag in its own box. Sorting pieces by colors seems just stupid in my opinion, since it is then almost impossible to dived the different parts from each other. When you do it like I do there are no peaces that are to similar in the same box and you will quickly get used to where to find the different pieces. And of course you do not waste time on sorting the pieces. I have been building like this since my very first Technic set.
  6. In other words not possible to see until you have opened the box, and then it is kind of late...
  7. Do you think it is worth getting if you already have 8043? For me it seems like a simpler and far less complex edition of the excavator only with a grab instead of a bucket. Anyone who has both that can chair their opinion?
  8. I would not say it is a revised version, the extra "book" is only to ensure that some crucial parts of the building are done right. And I would consider two sticker sheets as a nice bonus.
  9. After taking a look on the graphs of the XL motor, it seems like the Xl motor uses less current per output watt, than the L motor at their respective effect tops. On the other hand the xl motors weight more per output watt than the L-motor.
  10. I guess you would be able to keep the "output" voltage above 9v for a longer time with the 10 batteries setup, if that is not eaten up by the regulator.
  11. The XL motor seems like the most battery efficient motor, even under minimal load. I guess it is because it is not "wasting" energy on rpm, as you can clearly see under the "no load" part. And the XL motor is much more efficient at the top of the watt curve than the L-motor, 42% vs 27%. Which in my opinion is the second most important after the strength and actual output power of the motor.
  12. I have tried to change motor, but that did not make any difference. And I had noticed that the problem is much bigger when the batteries are running low. So I suspect that there is just more resistance in one of them, but that the gear ratio is the same. I do not really see how I could have screwed up the gear ratio this much and still get it to run.
  13. Do you think this mod would work if I motorize it? Or would the gears around the diffs slip because of the lack of the frames that were there before?
  14. Does anyone else have a problem with the left belt turning much slower than the right one?
  15. Even though you only get one type of motors in 8043 i still think it is just as good investment as the 8275, since it after all got two ir receiver (which are very expensive if you were to buy them separately) and two controllers which also are expensive. But i have to agree 8275 is just a magnificent PF model, and I am really glad that I have "secured" two of them. I also got 3x 8043, so I think I am good one the PF side for a while, only wish I had some more of the new Servo. But I am do not think 8043 is going to be as rare as 8275, unfortunately.
  16. Hopefylle this will result in more new PF parts and other useful parts in the future.
  17. What I do not understand is that the crawler costs more than the excavator, at least here in Norway. It is probably because of the new PF parts, but 8043 got 4 m-motors, 2 receivers, 2 controllers and 4 LAs.
  18. It seems like everyone got it cheeper than me, but I can't really say I am surprised
  19. well, the servo works just perfect and is more than strong enough. The L-motors also performs very well. And of course the V2 recover could be useful in other projects. I think i will try it in the bulldozer and se if it performs any better, which I do expect since it after all got two XL-motors both running at full speed. I do not think the PF would be worth the price alone. But you also get some nice springs, portal hubs (if you do not already got the Unimog) And at set of black rims, which I believe are kind of rare? So even if you do not really like the set itself, i think it is a good deal. And i guess you will be able to get it cheaper than me, I paid over 280 dollar.
  20. I am actually just as far as you, and plan to build the body tomorrow as well. I guess we are in the same time zone. And a i agree, it is both fast and strong. But it makes a kind of loud annoying noise when driving.
  21. Another reason is that, at least here in Norway, there is a limit of 22 meters. So to get maximum load capacity they want to keep the pulling unit as short as possible. And maximum gross wight is by the way 50 tons.
  22. I knew that already, but in the "review" you were saying this: "The two smokestacks and Power Functions Receiver will break off in a rollover crash (the kind that Sariel likes! ), since there is minimal protection. The A-Model rolls over easier than the B-Model and is much more robust that way"
  23. I do not really get if you are saying that it is the B or A-modell that is most likely to roll over? It seems like you are saying both...
  24. I would think that the extra weight gives better traction, so that it would not really matter, except if power is a big issue. For example a heavy truck would theoretically break (slow down) just as good as a car as long as both of them have breaks that allows the wheels to lock completely and they had the same friction to he surface. But of course there are many other factors in reality. But you get my point?
  25. Do you really have 700 000 technic parts? Do all of them come from sets, then you would have over 400 big sets. That is very impressive.
