  1. So: V8 engine made of old-school LBG blocks (how the classic Muscle car may have something different to old-school Big Block?) It's under the hood, hurray! Rear suspension (hard/yellow springs) Possibly, front suspension Turobochargers's gear driven via chain - should be connected to the read wheels, possibly via the engine. Wheelie stand HOG knob behind the cabin, near the trunk lid (steering? wheelie stand folding a-la 42050?) 42041's Racing Truck tires A lot of black panels A lot of LBG connectors for an inner roll-cage Old-good "boat stud" headlights
  2. And rear suspension (at least) - look at the yellow shock absorber mount points near the wheels.
  3. I would say it's fully realistic to fit them both ( I always was thinking that 42111 + 41999 should mean something when heard about the F&F Charger set): Should we continue here, or in a dedicated 42111 topic?
  4. Some update from the "2020" sets topic: Surprise but really reminds the deeply modified 41999 set (was trying to do it 3 years ago):
  5. The problem here, is that these elastic wishbones moves not only in up-down direction but in left-right too and even replacing one of the with a more rigid liftarm will still left the other flexible and able to make this "stance stand". Personally, I would left is "as-is" as now your car is on the edge of simplicity and effectiveness, so any further changes will bring more and more bulky solutions ruining the idea. I upvote for leaving it with a current setup: in the real life Formula cars, as far as I know, seems to never use reverse gear. Please move forward
  6. @BIGRIG2005, by the way, it that a Mack TerraPro at your avatar?
  7. I remember my childhood when Gaz trucks as light-weighed were commonly used as city delivery trucks: cargo boxes, milk (yeah, the big tank full of milk) fresh and hot bread. ZIL's meanwhile were a heavy-duty ones and were used as semitrucks or construction dumps with remarkable half-rounded hopper and very noisy constant BZZZZ sound caused by always broken air valve (the drivers told that it's better to hear it to know that you still have air for your brakes ). Great and very remarkable models! Something that was many times ago but still lives somewhere inside.
  8. Meanwhile it has great C-models, and they still keep coming, so I would compensate some A-B models simplicity...
  9. Yes, it's in progress already. I'm working on the gooseneck scheme (it works perfect but looks ugly) and didn't decide what kind of suspension should it have.
  10. Now, while other trailers are still in progress, some new modifications to existing ones. I found some MOCs with adaptation of them to lead trailers for B-double trains and my idea was to make them even better, make Technic models more technical. So, please welcome slider-transformer lead trailers: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-37322/VoidSerpent/lead-semitrailers-3-in-1-pack-for-42078-slider-featured The main feature that they still use the "sider" feature but now that moves the whole frame with axles and the third wheel, so it have two appearances: Normal semitrailer with the frame moved under the cargo deck Lead semitrailer, ready for the tag trailer coupling Notice two HOG "knobs" - they controls the landing gears (supports) and the worm gear for sliding in-out control. As usually, it comes as a Flatbed, Side wall and Box models for different cargo types: MOC-37319: Lead Flatbed Semitrailer for 42078 (Slider featured) MOC-37321: Lead Side Wall Semitrailer for 42078 (Slider featured) MOC-37038: Lead Dry Van (Box) Semitrailer for 42078 (Slider featured)
  11. Sounds like a great possibility for some 3-rd party parts with PF sockets on the both sides (like 2*2*1 brick) with some "logic" inside: the brick with a "positive" diode: it opens the "power" only when the "control" (control switch, battery block, etc.) is in "enabled-positive" position; the brick with a "negative" diode: the same but fully opposite; the brick that swaps the power and control channels; Can't say what could be achieved with that right now but may be very promising So, we won't have to cut or tin the PF wires or LEDs but got some nice functions and a kind of "electricity bricks" building again. Imagine the stack of "positive" and "flashing" blocks? Your vehicle is blinking with flashing warning lamps when backing up. Or indicates the turning direction... That would be fantastic.
  12. It's again the same mid-engine 70' Charger... Seems we may have this 'weird monster' or a modern 4-doors one.
  13. I use a more cheaper universal supply with variable voltage settings (from 7 to 12v if I remember it properly) and it also works perfectly. Just mind the required voltage and current.
  14. I'm not into parts modifying, sorry, but as for 20-30 pairs of PF lights in a stack - it should have the minimal possible effect as their consumption is very small. Just one "con" here: such stack will be way huge. Generally, I would recommend just some all-while Christmas tree LED lights. They are much more compact rather than monstrous construction, powered from the 220/110v socket (no batteries need to be regarded) and way cheaper.
  15. Yes, exactly! I got 8 or 9 pairs of PF LEDs once (and used all of them together only in a single MOC but it's a different story) and I can fully say that yes, their "power" corelates with the battery voltage. I tested all of them with PF rechargeable box with the voltage control and they barely light at the lowest power to some kind of a normal work at the highest voltage for this battery 7.4V. Then, the full-size PF Technic Battery box - 9V, LEDs shine stronger. And the best result is with BuWizz's Ludicrous mode - it makes them shining a lot. Really, it was enough to drive the chassis in the dark room using only a single PF LEDs pair. Plus to that, I used them many hours in total and didn't observe any faulty.
  16. Exactly. The only thing we really need here are black mudguards: all other required panels are already presented. Once I was trying to turn 41999 back to its "origin" and the mudguards were the only needed parts for the perfect look together with enough free space for steering and suspension keeping the wheels "inside" the car, like in real 70' cars.
  17. Well, it could be also done in a more legal manner with a black sticker. Not such authentic but better than nothing.
  18. Heyyy, Immortan Jim has called him to Valhalla, he's awaited! Really great to see how perfect this model came right in time.
  19. Great! You really keep challenging yourself by beating yourself's perfectness again and again. I just watching how you're making the best c-models of your own models and... What, is that a magic, right?
  20. Plus to that, 2013's 60018 City Cement Mixes has exactly the same design (and even a tiltable cabin, in the City series!), so the chances to get something different than 8x4x4 (8 axles, 4 driven, 4 [other] steerable) cabover truck are very low. And for the functions, as the cabover EU-like trucks are a very common type of Technic sets, they supposed to be: Openable doors, I don't remember the truck in the same scale with no openable doors. The steering. It was proved that the 1-2nd axles are steered so it would be great to have something with 42078-level complexity but personally still I expect 42008-ish dead-simple scheme with the racks and 3L and 4L steering arms. And an orange flash beacon for HOG. It was perfectly made in 42079 in the same livery (and possibly by the same designer), so the chances are high. The 3-4th axles are driven. It is a mandatory thing for construction machines so I really hope that TLG won't be lazy doing 8x2 constriction truck. That would be a fail. No suspension. Plus something for the mixer drum rotation I believe.
  21. Plus to that, it must come as "untitled wasteland car", as the ideas platform suits only non-branded non-related to any IP or franchise things. So, "Mad Max" won't work here. One more reason not to put it on ideas (because pointless)...
  22. Yep. It has a lot of pipes behind the front seats
  23. As far as I can see, if the central diff is presented, it's the single one between 1+2 and 3+4 axles. The LTM 1070-4.2 has 3+4 axles driven and 1+3+4 in some modifications, so I wouldn't use it for 3+4...
  24. Yeah that would be way better. However, if it's not an "F&F" charger but "F&F 9", it's a 1970 charger with widebody kit and... mid-engine! If so, the first mod would be to return the engine back to home!
  25. @Clever Nickname, so far not, unfortunately. I'm taking a pause for a few months due to family reasons. Added 2019-02-21. OK, now it's some time to continue... I haven't finished the Granite model yet but the Set-Forward platform is ready and have very a few differences to the original 42078 model, so all modifications, all RC motorizations are compatible. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-36219/VoidSerpent/mack-pinnacle-set-forward/#comments https://bricksafe.com/pages/Void_s/42078/truck_mod_pinnacle_sf Since 2018 year the Mack Trucks company is producing the Mack Anthem model that replaced the set-back configuration of Mack Pinnacle model and now they both, Pinnacle set-forward and Anthem (set-back), shares the same platform, engines and other things that include even interior stuff. So, let me introduce the Anthem's modification that turns it into it's more brutal brother Pinnacle.Features Modified front frame ending where the front axle is placed 3-studs forward for a better weight distribution. Old-good American classic configuration! All other things like steering, mount point for other submodules are the same, so it's fully compatible with all Anthem modifications (custom cabins, custom frame length, etc. including my lovely tri-drive one). Modified hood that was borrowed from grego18's Mack Granite Dump Truck, that I modified to better match the Pinnacle grill and fenders. Custom "flat" bumper that represents the chromed plate which is the most common bumper option for set-forward trucks. Luckily to its shape there was no necessity to add any extra things like virtual pivot points or something similar. Just literally the same scheme from Anthem, so all RCing mods are fully applicable here. And now few match-renders of the original axle placement (blue) and new one: As a teaser, the Granite is not far from the finish, together with compatible to all "Mack family" (existing and coming) Daily cabin.
