  1. Sorry for raising of this old topic. I spent some time to build this amazing replica of a legendary 8880 in LDD, but it took much long then I expected. I'm still a newbie in a reverse engineering and my attempts to reproduce it and make some changes to avoid of an illegal connections were very long and maybe incorrect at all. I'm close to give up with it and would like to share my results that may by useful for you. So, the file is here: http://bricksafe.com/files/Void_s/8880/8880 - Tribute Model 8880 Evo by Attika (MOD).lxf - Green (mostly for lift arms) - I caught the detail type but didn't get the exact size of it, so this piece is a kind of a placeholder and length should be adjusted. - Pink (mostly for axles) - it's a part of the skeleton that I added for a better parts alignment and should be removed or replaced by some other construction. Here is a short summary of a current progress: Gearbox - completed in full (I followed the instruction, posted by Attika) Chassis - completed partly with a following things that remains unfinished: - Rear suspension - need to add shock absorbers and mount it to the adjustable ride height assembly (two pink axles) - Front suspension - need to mount shock absorbers to the wishbones - Steering - need to mount links to the when hubs (I used new 11949c01) and re-arrange the axle between a steering wheel and the first bevel gears joint Fake engine - no, sorry, but I's a very last step, I suppose. Interior - more or less finished. Hull - the main frame is finished with significant changes that I made in order to avoid of liftarms or axles bending - Doors - no... - Trunk / bonnet - width should be adjusted somewhere - Front / Tail end - lamps and some possible re-arrangement may by required Hope that it could help somebody (I haven't necessary details so far to build it in a real life that could help with some questions) and possible someone can continue it.
  2. Not sure that it's very useful, but four red 22961 pieces were observed in 75525 set (Baze Malibus action fig). However I'm still waiting for a black color...
  3. jrx, thanks for a great review! Again and again I saw how powerful is it and was afraid of big spending on tires, but now I see that this monster eats even 5x7 frames which I considered extremely strong and rigid... Bravo BuWizz team!
  4. Guys, recently I received the e-mail from Kickstarter where BuWizz team informed that they received the necessary batteries, but have troubles with screws and connector pins, that didn't come yet. Here is the quote: So, no X-mas or New Year gifts(), but anyway the ETA has been published.
  5. Well, yes, I agree: it's a mistake but so common here, so I used this term. Really it's kind of differential with high friction or something around it Scheme is very poor and can not stop the wheel than doesn't have sufficient grip, but still able to force the other wheel to move slightly. But on other hand it's so simple and performance is acceptable and that's why I decided to share it. Anyway we can't fit the torsen differential (true limited slip diff) here unless the 1L worm gear is released (2017 is coming )
  6. Hello everybody! I'm a newbie here, but Lego Technic was a part of my live many years ago. Recently it turns that that we meet again and I'm ready to discover or invent something new for me. About several months ago I got the well-known 9398 Crawler - amazing flagman model with a lot of pro and cons (I believe that many spears and axes were broken, so I'll skip the long list). The main disadvantage is differentials (also known as diffs) that makes the off-road or crawling ability so close to zero. A common recommendation is to get rid of them by replacing by the knobs. It works, but I faced another issue then: now it can't go on a flat surfaces. Really, now the rear axle tries to pull the vehicle ignoring the forward one and broke the axels or suspension. As solution I remembered the limited slip differential based on the 20-tooth clutch gears: add the one more axle between the left and right wheels that has one (or two if necessary) clutch gear. It allows to have some difference between the wheels rotation angle, but in the same time provides some friction that prevents the free rotation. I remember that I saw it at somebody's MOC, so I will add the credits a bit later. Let me don't bush around and provide the my receipt (sorry for the quality, it was a phone): 1. The additional axle. 9L axle with two 20t gears, normal one and clutch, and connectors. Plus 2L beam to reinforce the connection (you'll see it later). 2. Place where to mount it. You'll need to remove the 11L beam from the steering arms add this assembly. 3. Mounted. 4. Now let's move the 2L red beam to lock the connection. 5. The result! Completely mounted and covered by two 3x5 Bent beams (instead of two 3L beams at the original model). As summary, I have to say that now it works fine everywhere (limited only by Crawler's design) and requires a minor changes for the original model. That's all so far, hope that it still actual since the model is relatively old.
