I would still tag it not as TC20, but TC2000! 20 has to little zeroes for such an awersome model. And it quite dangerous to add it to the contest - it may just eat other contestants

Yes, the rear bar needs a less wide mount points. There is my variant: Rear wheels have teh seam setup like @anyUser made: the axles now are embrased with T-shaped liftarms and 3L pins wiht pinhole in the middle, so now it fits inside the the wheels. Rear deck plate has shortened 2*6 plate at the end with pinholes, as the inner wheels now are placed closer to the frame. Rear bar with lights and mudflaps now attached with 1*2 plates with pinholes (instead of 1*2 bricks) which are placed closer the cenetr of frame and don't touch the wheels. Front wheels are placed exactly instead of old-thick ones, as I wanted to have the front track width a little less than outer rear wheels, like at real trucks. So, the idea with more realistic kingpin offstes wasn't applied here yet. Then I got the following result (odl-thick wheels are painted in red to compare with a new setup): Rear track width was increased by 1-2mm in total and still fits into 15L-width of all truck. Front axle width was decreased a bit, as the centers of old and new wheels matches. It made no benefits for steering geometry but they could be easilly replaced with thick wheels ("385mm", for ones who know them) for heavy-duty and construction machines. Added: I'm sorry for a wrong tire tread pattern. I still have no these amasing tires, so had to hand-made them in Studio, but I see I missed something ald lost the sentral hexagonal tiles

Yeah, after 42128 I also found that this combination perfectly fits inside the "thin" 14mm disk and even having a little touch in LDD/Studio, physically they don't touch each other even under high load with bended a bit axles. I'm preparing the render of 42078 Mack with old and new wheels both to compare the track widths and overall possible sets. A few minutes and I will upload it here.

Looks nice, I have a bit different idea on embracing the mount points, however. Will bring it here today. Have just replaced the front wheels or also moved the steering hubs more to outside? I'm working on different ideas and found that with these narrow wheels we may shorten the "kingpin offset" by putting it closer to the wheel center at 1 stud (so the hubs are mounted to 11L liftrams, not 9L ones). BWT, from where you have get them? I still monitoring BL but they ever didn't appear...

42128 - Heavy-Duty Tow Truck

The same reason why only 42099 and 42129 (yet) get planetary reduction hubs indeed -
At least, there is really no point to control the Ladder, Ripper and Blade at the same time. The only question is for Blade Lift and tilt, but possibly being not a constrction man, I never saw that dozers ever changed the tilt during routine operations. A quick search in Google revealed to me that the tilt normally is set basing on the material (soil, gravel, sand, etc.) types and then rarely changes during the scraping operations. So, there is really no necessity to control the tilt and lift at the same time, like it may be required for loaders.

This scheme will work a bit differently to "only one can be driven at a time". I have built it (great idea btw) and it has the following sequence of "engages": 45/135/225/315-degrees position Clutch #1 = idles Clutch #2 = idles Clutch #3 = idles Clutch #4 = idles 0-degrees position Clutch #1 = engaged to "positive" side Clutch #2 = idles Clutch #3 = engaged to "negative" side Clutch #4 = idles 90-degrees position Clutch #1 = idles Clutch #2 = engaged to "positive" side Clutch #3 = idles Clutch #4 = engaged to "negative" side 180-degrees position (inverted 0) Clutch #1 = engaged to "negative" side Clutch #2 = idles Clutch #3 = engaged to "positive" side Clutch #4 = idles 270-degrees position (inverted 90) Clutch #1 = idles Clutch #2 = engaged to "positive" side Clutch #3 = idles Clutch #4 = engaged to "negative" side There are always two outputs out of 8 are engaged, or (if 45-inclined are allowed) all are disengaged.

Your Best Technic Bargains
Void_S replied to Kumbbl's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I got mine for ~93 EUR (while the top-official store sells for 160 EUR) right on the 1st of August (one of the lasts from the 1st shipping) and am still so happy Not a brilliant deal but still awesome to get it in the first day with a such discount (and all pneumatic parts included). -
I voted for the 3rd option but not becasue I dont care (I do actually!) but becasue I really love both ways: the WIP topics are quite interesting with its "gradual shaping" of the idea into a really cool model. And for the "instant MOCs", I enjoy the poping-up suprises when the great model appears like from a jukebox - boom and have a nice thing to explore "from scratch" guessiging on how it was possibly made. Once I caucth myself on comparing the newly relased TLG offical sets vs their preliminary drafts trying to guess the designer ideas why they changed that, these, and there.

Basing on my obesravations and my experience in selling the MOCs on RB, I noticed serveral moments: The best-selling models are very demanded: usually they are good alternative builds or nice modifications/addons for the most popular sets. As a proove of this point, I have to say that my quite old model of semitrailer attachement for Mack Anthem still appears 1-2 times a month even since years. Advertesiment is also required - depenign on the purpose of the model (nice-looking Creator set, or fantastically-enigneered Technic set) you should highligt these "kiling features" as best as you can (amazing photos are bets for "shelve sets", videos for offroad/on road action models). Be original in making really unique models, or follow the trends but being the best among them.

Trying to "how" some MOCs I found that this truck needs one more feature: a parking stop system. Normally, the outrigger's grip is enough to hold the track in place but this set (like all LEGO ones) has ABS-flat outrigger "feet" which have zero traction resistance to the "ground" (desk) surface. My idea is to add a dead-simple gearbox that will lock the transmission (and the wheels, therefore), possibly synchronized with outriggers activation. I see some space in the chassis and possibly once more mini-LA with a clutch system may help here.

Well, I can forgive the sticker-made headlights unless they also accompanied some parts like in Defender, even non-transparent tail lights but these... As for me, they are the apotheosis of human laziness. Who ever decided to "build" them like that in a such scale?! Even not being a fan of this scale sets (I love the MOCs in such scale, but the sets are always empty for me) and this one hadn't interested me at all, now I just have strong anticipation to it

General Part Discussion
Void_S replied to Polo-Freak's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm trying to add the missed parts to BL and RB inventories, so we can get the full inventory for newly released sets (42128+42129) and found that I just physically can't add the new pre-cut pipes due to the absence of the mold numbers on them. Well, they actually can't have them as they are pre-cut, not molded but the rules have me find them and add The purpose was to prepare the inventories for further MODs and alternative models. At least make it a bit easier.- 5,466 replies
