  1. Can you try to fit here new roundish wheels with glued on tires? If Im not mistaken they were presented in some recent Wedo or Educational sets. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=39367c01#T=C&C=11 Im not sure about the wheels color but azure tires may look here quite futristic. Like neon lines at Tron bikes.
  2. Well, the existing one is too huge for only two ports, so it makes sense...
  3. Yeah, there is always a problem not the suspension arms but steering rods which needs extra space...
  4. There is a Part Designer addon for Studio available, so you can make them there. I used it for custom tires and cross-axle liftarmzs which will add here this evening.
  5. Amazing! Do you have any plans to do the same but for thin rims? This year we're getting a pair of Creator sets with new thin 49.5 tires which will perfectly fit to Technic trucks and your rims adopted for them may be amazing addition!
  6. That was my thought too! It should work the best for kinds of supercars. But actually, it does not look so highly demanded - these tires(wide ones I mean) are mostly used for pullback sets where their size does not matter. Meanwhile, the bigger tires are commonly used for trucks and cars where their authentic size is more important.
  7. This video also has a comment that must be shared here as well: http://www.suburbantow.com/ The photo of Orange-White trucks with blue equipment was already published here, and now some guys identified the company which livery was an inspiration to this set. I think these stickers were made to get rid of a full match which may result in some fee payments for TLG. As for the LDD file, yes, it should be ready soon. :)
  8. The dogbone really May touch it, I will check it but these 3*5 louftarm does not touch the wheels at all. That was the "Good setup" which I meant - they perfectly fits inside the wheels while it may look they don't))
  9. Interesting that this set easily fits rear double s (pairs of 49.5 thin tires from coming new Creator Expert sets) at 3rd and 4th axles without any changes. Just remove the old wheels, put the 1/2 bushes instead of 1L bushes and put a pair of new thin wheels. It looks amazing! A bit later I will show it here. The secret here is that 3l pin with a pinhole in the middle with connected liftarms perfectly fits inside the wheels. While 42078 and 42098 need some changes (they may borrow the 42128 scheme).
  10. I'm still working on the digital model of this set and these reviews made a huge leap for my progress, only few parts may me misaligned now. @Jim, following the still active embargo, am I allowed to publish the LDD file here, or should be better to wait for the offical release date? Meanwhile, let's see how tight all the gears and axles are packed inside: White - drivetrain Purple - steering Red - outriggers Orange - wheel lift boom elevation Green - lift axle Blue - crane boom rotation
  11. Sorry for a stupid question, does it really rotates freely, like a tan 2L axle-pin frictionless part?
  12. Or just put the leg inside the 90-degree connector (the knee)
  13. Well, the only thing that I don't like here is a ridiculously small steering lock for a given wheelbase. It looks similar to 42098 and 42112 sets but monstrous 45-stud wheelbase makes the turning circle the biggest ever for such scale vehicles. I regret it got no 42078 steering which was just amazing and made it quite maneuverable... Besides that, it is an amazing set and still in the "must buy" list form me. As a great set (which makes the Technic great again!) and great parts source both. Only look at these all liftarms, endless 5*7 frames, actuators and pneumatic cylinders! It screams for alternative buildings!
  14. Exactly, it's for a clear "pull" action rather than lifting something. Those machines have nearly unlimited number of possible uses and (rotators especially) often used not only as tow trucks but as general purposed cranes for emegency services. This truck arrives, works as a crane to clean the stage, then takes the damaged car or truck and tows it to the nearby services station. So you need only a single truck with a single crew.
  15. Hmm, quite interesting result of de-monstering (making it a civilian car again). I love how it looks with corrected proportions! Maybe its me but I expected use of the gray rims and place them inverted, as a kind of wheels used at heavy pickups. Surprisingly, white rims appeared as even better option here! Now I guess that it may even beat the original model if have planetary hubs mounted.
  16. I see the same - two longitudial shafts between side and rear actuators with universal and old cv joints. And a traversal shaft runnung under the turntable (1-2 studs rearward from its center) which syncronizes the "sides".
  17. I think it immitates the Cummins Common Rail engine series with its Red color and "rail" high pressure pipes. Plus white cylinder at the left side. I tried to build this engine in such scale and found it nearly impossible without bricks and other System parts. However we're getting here quite authentic (and working!) engine model. Personally, Im happy.
  18. OMG it must buy for me! Finally thin 49.5 wheels for trucks! I think the thick ones still works better for this 42128 truck, as rotators have quite heavy-loaded front axle and usually have its "heavy-duty" variant with thick "heavy load" tires or twin steering variant. Alternativelly, it should have from 8 (with second "lift" and "heavy-duty" axle immitating super single tires) to 14 tires (if all axles runs normal whells). It would be too much for te first releases of these tires, I suppose.
  19. But in his case it will have at least 3 thechnic functions, ever being a single brick. I don't know how, but "imposiible" is just not about him. Last Dragon was a total overkill for me!
  20. Yes, exactly this scheme! I see it somewhere else, but 408 also have it. Now I know which blueprints I need))
  21. Nice and simple. I had an idea to build a system of several van wipers, when they virtually "crosses": The 1st raises from the central horizontal position and goes to its windshiled edge making 90-degrees turn. Whole it goes, the 2nd raises after it, perfectly from the same central position but to its (diffrent) side. Then, the 2nd lies down, and then the 1st. The most dufficult part here, is that the 1st wiper is always slowed down or paused alowing the 2nd wiper to move along and don't cross with the 1st. Too bad I cant recall the model where I saw such weird scheme...
  22. I think it may, if you make these changes: shorten the upper arms (make 3L, not 4L like now), so outriggers will have less travel but higher "torque". Plus, the final rotation angles (when the outrigger is landed and is about to lift the truck) will require a less torque on the driveshaft. embrace the drivetrain coming to these upper arms. replace the lower 4L arms with solid 4x2 Liftarms, so they won't disassemble under high tension load.
  23. I think they are mostly "shelfers" rather than "racers" now... In my country, we have a special term for false SUVs and City-offroaders-like cars: parketnik (паркетник: a parquet сar) which meach the car that even looking big, oversized, so brute and powerful (similar to classing Jeep cars) can be driven only on a parquet-flat surface due to extremely weak engine, bad transmission (only FWD even) and other disadvantages. That's what I recalled when was thinking about this "shelfer" (a shelf car) wording...
  24. Well, actually (sorry for enabling the Mack-fan mode) LRs are "low-entry" modifications of MR Cabover trucks to be exclusively used for only refuse trucks. So, "Mack LR" = "refuse truck", it has just no alternate use. https://www.macktrucks.com/trucks/lr-series I think that by using the model name instead of a generic "refuse/garbage truck" TLG just highlighted that the B model here is also a licensed model. As for the B models, they mostly really are some so compromised sets due to a limited parts number and variation. But some sets have really great B models, which definitely equals if not better than the main A model.
  25. Imagine TLG added all possible things to the model of each scale. Would we love it? Definitely! Would we purchase them? YESS! Would other customers (non-AFOL ones) purchase them for their kids? No! They won't pay a fortune for a smaller set. So, each set of each scale and feature must meet its purpose - to be well-sold in its own category. Small and cheap sets for beginners, medium sets for advanced builders, big sets for fans why really care about gearboxes, authenticity, etc. And "18+" monstrous sets for really adult AFOLs who can allow spending their monthly salary for such a "big boys' toy". Plus, the sets must no be too overcomplicated to repel the kids. The Defender was an amazing set for AFOLs but just look at the number of complaints of this gearbox even being assembled correctly. And, it t is a pure disappointment for younger people who "wanted this cool offroader" but struggle to put again and again that damn gears. For sure, the proper answer (for us) is "that go to the toys shop and buy any offroader model" but this answer won't work for TLG who obviously wants having their sets to be these "any models".
