Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
legofreak86 replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Saw man of steel today!!! Was a truly ground-breaking incredible film. Lego's sets are very accurate not a single one doesn't match up with a certain action sequence! Even the figure's costumes for each set are accurate to that certain scenes on which the set is based. There are a few other cool sequences that did not grace Lego form involving Russell Crowe's jor el that were truly breath-taking so that is a bit sad but at least they made a jor el figure in the first place. Kudos Lego! On this line of sets you have really done the film proud, shame the same could not be said about iron man 3! -
Lego needs to not focus on the minifigures!

Yeah for such an integral character Vader seems to have taken a back seat from sets recently. I had to get mine in a non- glued magnet set where he had been updated on the face. You can only get him at remotely decent price in the falcon nowadays unless you want to shell out for the star destroyer ucs or the imperial shuttle ucs. I'd like to see him in a cheaper set soon. I say remake the final duel with the new luke from the ewok village a new emperor and darth vader. Indeed Vader must reappear perhaps with blue buttons on his control panel rather than green. I want to see a cheaper set of either Luke vs. Vader (empire)or the final duel (return). That would be fantastic! -

The sad fact is that mega block's cheap plastic truly basic moulding techniques and lack of realism will never be able to do any marvel film line justice! The colours they used in the amazing Spiderman sets are so bright that they don't even start to resemble the scenes they are modelling (I've seen the pics). I hope lego manage to do The Amazing Spiderman 2 line for all our sake! -

I believe if they did then Lego are within rights to make ranges for either movie! Providing some vile pretender like mega blocks or Ugh... kreo don't get in there first. It sickens me just talking about them. It has been said that the film will have 4 members of the sinister six including green goblin who still wears armour but it is a different style and shape and dark green and black rather than the previous light green from rami's goblin. So 4 villains could make a killer wave of sets! -
I would agree with that, it could be Monday though because of orthanc but Lego when I emailed them said they didn't have any idea when they just said by the start of the summer holidays.

That's the one I meant like worm tongue perfect example good call! Lets hope Lego are listening! To be honest a hooded emperor figure wouldn't really need hair as he is never seen with it whilst wearing his hood.

Yeah but his face clearly isn't grey in both rotj or rots. They should just switch to a slightly paler flesh face for rots and a paler flesh face for rotj! Grey I always thought was highly inaccurate to palpatine in either film! I much prefer his alternative chancellor face from 2012 to the grey 2010 one also the black gloves need to go.In no incarnation has he ever worn black gloves change it either to pale flesh hands if they are going for pale flesh or pale grey hands if they are sticking with that. I'd like to see both rots sidious and cw sidious to be quite honest as both would be nice to have! I think the most accurate face for a rotj colour was the original palpatine from the oldest sets as he looked like a human and normal and fitted in with other figures where as grey doesn't look like the colour his face is. The fact is his face just isn't that grey in either film. My opinion is it should be a paler flesh like you say but not grey. Perhaps original gringotts goblin colour would work for him I always thought it looked a bit like that.
-
That would be ideal as the 2010 one is alright for original trilogy but doesn't look enough like rots palpatine. A flesh emperor is what we need in 2014 rots sets I say! We've had clones sets now we need a wave of more rots sets!
-
This needs to be done! There needs to be a set with this Clone wars figure variation in it in 2014!:

Also it has orcs attacking by the look of the end of the trailer. Perhaps azog tries to get revenge again? Unless that was another part from the scene with elves fighting orcs. It looked a lot like Thorin was slicing one of them near the end though I think they will change the figures a bit as the costumes have changed but hopefully there will be more chances to get the remaining dwarves not in the unexpected journey sets but only in the trilogy preview ones which I didn't bother with.

This is a great and accurate figure. The suit goes on under the clothing that kryptonians wear. Jor el sometimes wears a robe in his council gear and a casual look with the suit showing under his open robe. He also wears armour which is a tan colour over the suit and the brown cape. Speaking of the cape (I have the figure) I have compared it to all other star wars etc. capes that I own and it is a new colour it does not match any brown cape previously released it is somewhere between Dark red and brown. The only thing that would possibly improve this figure is if they included his armour but as he is he is great his hairpiece really should've been the Aragorn one though. Then he would be completely movie accurate without the armour. I think I'll order Aragorn style hair from the net for my jor el! Great figure and great review!!!!!!!

If memory serves in this movie scene he is not wearing his cape only his robe but not his cape, He does a similar thing in the Hobbit An Unexpected Journey in the troll scene. -

Unfortunately there were unseen complications to the storyline that if you've seen iron man 3 I'm sure you know to what I am referring to. Lego weren't aware of this and so centred their line around a certain character who's role changed in the movie. For Iron Man 3 they were only given slight details and concept art for sets but man of steel they've been given proper photographs and detail which accounts to how accurate the figures are to the film. Movie accurate or not I'm more impressed with The MOS sets than I ever was with iron man 3 ones. The MOS vehicles and locations look pretty accurate to what we've seen in trailers compared to ugly green vehicles in iron man 3 sets (unless they were going for a comic style feel). Good point though! -

Nice review! Definitely a must buy just for Gandalf, Aragorn and the mouth alone!! Strange though, you can't walk into mordor and yet it has silver fancy doorknobs! Moving on from that point can't wait til this is out in the United Kingdom it would already be on my order list if it was! Rest assured! I think I'll get the set with saruman first though as he is my favourite LOTR character next to Gandalf and sauron and is well overdue a minfigure! It'd be nice if we get a sauron figure at some point like in the opening of fellowship! Anyways nice review and keep building! TALLER!!!!??? you can barely get the eagle up there with its current height if you added more it might just topple over when you walk out of the room! You'll come back and find something similar to what happened to barad dur in the final film bricks every where and many a Urukhai killed in the devastation! -
That would be amazing! Witch king would have to have his moulded helmet though and his sword and swingy.... mace thing..... what ever you call it!

Very nice! Love that mark 1 and we need a Thor vs. the destroyer set in my honest opinion and that destroyer looks awesome. I would love to see the FF at some point as we have doom now. The way they've captured movie Asgard in bricks the game is just so beautifully done and rendered so well ! I know they'll probably never be a Bifrost bridge set but a man can dream right a man can dream! -

The reason they didn't do "a more iconic build" is because the sets are based off certain scenes from the movie. I don't believe that any of the action sequences teased take place at the daily planet. Plus I don't believe it is key to the storyline either because as far as I can tell from the trailers and spots: 1. it appears Lois knows exactly who Clark is and 2. he doesn't appear to work at the daily planet in this film. Now I haven't seen the film but I think (unlike Lego's iron man 3 range) this time Lego know what they're doing with recreating scenes. The armour thing is annoying as zod frequently doesn't wear helmet but wears just armour instead. If the torso is so faded then ask Lego for a replacement, I'm sure they'll understand they are usually top notch customer service wise. The others I have seen aren't badly faded certainly. Also they've ditched the whole glasses disguise for Clark for this film. . -

Dvd world USA who just sell US region free to the uk have it for £13.99 with £2.95 postage so no more than we'd pay for it over here. The dvd won't work but the blu will and the figure well that's self explanatory. Shame they didn't consider the UK though Good point that could be right! -

Just got a reply from Lego on the regard of whether Lego Batman Dc superheroes Unite will be released in the UK and other places apart from USA this is their reply: Dear Callum, Thanks for getting in touch with us regarding the availability of the LEGO® The Lego Batman Dc Superheroes Unite blue ray movie. Great to hear that you are a big LEGO fan! I asked about the availability of this Blue ray movie from our specialists and they informed me that regretfully this blue Ray Movie will only be available in the US as it was specially designed for the US market. I'm really sorry about that! Lego Batman is apparently for the US market funny last time I checked he was a comic character with worldwide fans and acclaim! Looks like us Non USA fans will have to import this release. how disappointing TLC.... -

Greetings! Nice review, A strange choice for a vehicle and set. Cad bane doesn't really have much about him that is interesting in this set apart from an updated design. Rakko hardeen/obi wan Kenobi is quite nice and is very faithful to his television counterpart. The nikto did appear in the Hutt's dungeon interrogating obi wan but morallo may have been a more suited choice. Overall this set does not impress me as there could've been a set with maul duelling sidious with savage in it's place which I would have preferred also a mandalorian armour obi would've been nice. -
Brilliant recreation of a great scene, Very authentic to the film I especially like how you did D.U.M.E the claw arm machine!
