The End of the Hundred Years' War
The Maestro replied to Earl of Shrewsbury's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hey man, the armour and soldiers look good, do you have any lighter infantry troops? As a builder who is about to begin on The War of the Roses, I love seeing fellow builders create figs/builds with historical accuracy. I am looking foward to one of my favourite battles in medieval history However I may suggest moving forums, because while the guilds of historica sub forum is good for medival-ish builds it is mainly fantasy, so your creation would probably be better off in the lego historic themes forum, which houses more realistic builds. I think one of the admins will be able to move it for you if you can get there attention. I look foward to your moc and will probably borrow some of the troop desighs for my own mocs -
Excellent scene, we do not see many farming scenes such as this. I would recommend extending the border to all four sides for a cleaner look. However that tree is truly fantastic and that touch of olive really adds to the Moc.

Great tree, and although it is a bit uniform I like the rockwork too, your sig fig is shaping up to be a very interesting charachter. -
Awesome ship, it suits the medieval era well, and I really like your sigfig, he certainly looks like a merchant/warrior.

Woah this is massive, I love the bridges and the central tower itself. The landscaping is good althoigh perhaps the outer walls could extend a bit further, to stop intruders going round the edge. Other than that it is fantastic.
-
Fantastic rockwork and tge use of that techique really adds to the moc. The dark green is a good choice for the landscaping and the splashes of olive is also nice. The nest and dragon are perfect too

Excellent lamp and I love the cartoony style. The vibrant colours with the bley also look great.

Great use of the dinos and the architecture style used here is awesome, I look foward to seeing more builds from this land.

Awesome figs and the stories behind them are very well thought out, my favourites would be the merchent and the wright, although the dragonslayer is also pretty cool. -

I love this style of landscaping you have developed but the tree looks a little too symetrical with the pattern of light to dark leaves. The oiliphant is excellently done and the basket is great although like the others some articulation would be good. -
Sorry I missed this man, but I thought it was a fantastic idea when I saw them on flickr. I like the use of non flesh heads although I can say I only have about 5 due to their relative rarity. My favourites would be Kufunzi and Bahari

Excellent detailing, and the base is fantastic, like SK said the thicker walls are a great Idea and I lobe that window design.

What an excellent idea and It would be a great way to end this book, combining builds to make an extra big story was a brilliant idea and everything flowed very nicely and I especially love the spot light on Eolas . Awesome work

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
The Maestro replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Unfourtuantly I have not been very active on the guilds, due to lazyness , but I look foward to returing and seeing some new builds and posting my own (of which I have a couple lined up, ready to post on here). At the moment I am about to take apart my latest build that you can see on my flickr and then I look foward to maybe building one more Moc before I go on holiday from the 3rd to the 20th. Then I will back in full swing @KevinyWu Looks good dude, I suggest adding vines to that arch and maybe make that island on the left a little less symetrical. And of course UP AVALONIA -

Yes, hibernation, fighting wars is a tiresome buisness ya know Just ask Kaliphin, although you might have to kick them to make sure they are still alive -

A new Moc is up: Is anyone else excited for the CCC? -
Younger brother of Ol' Colby, Fîn was always the odd one out. Carrots had never really appealled to him growing up, much to the dissapointment of his family. However, keen to make them proud he set off, and through some hardwork, trade and a touch of blackmail he ended up with a prime piece of real estate and his very own farm. Built in a week and a half for the Dunedin Brick Show I am pretty pround of it. It is veiwable from 3 sides ( a masssive acheivement for me) and even looks good :p It also won me best young exhibitor, which was the icing on the cake Very much inspired again by Legonardo and Derfel Cadarn. Now onto the GoH anniversary. Does it ever stop? Hope you enjoy and C&C welcomed.

The Maestro replied to Siercon and Coral's topic in Guilds of Historica
Man, this makes me want to build something from the mystic isles soooo much The huts are fantastic and those trees are mind blowing. However my favourite thing would have to be the boat, it just looks so organic -
Awesome Snot, This is a massive improvement texture wise and the addition of the wide arches adds a low cramped feel to the Moc. I look foward to your next creation.
-
That brick built boar is excellent mate and the tree is just as good. The Landscaping is a massive improvement, The choice of colours work well together and the base is great too
-
The wood lokks excellent here and the flooring is brilliant. Apart from the sand green blocks I like the texturing of the wall and the simple black border works well.
-
Nice one Kahir, That wagon design is ace and I agree with the others about colour choices, I think keeping a limit to how many colours use is the key. Other than that though I really like the rock work and the figs are awesone
-
Haha, I was tempted to do an extra shot with that across it. Thanks mate, I liked the sound of a market however probably outside the limit of my bricks Thank you Titus, and maybe one day I will build something non textured, if I will ever stoop that low Thank you HQ, yes I decided to make this tower slightly more solid, as it fitted the scene better and I am glad you approve. The lighting was a bit of an experiment, and I can see why it put you off. Thanks Puvel and I agree, two arches just wouldn't look as good. Plus I probably would have ran out of peives on the second one Thank you Blufiji Thanks Man, I am glad you like the shaping on the left, I took lots of care in makeing it right Thank you SK, The base was one of my favourite parts, along with the tower and everything else Haha, thank you Gunman, I really appreciate it.

As I have already said, brilliant build amd it reall captures the Tíre atmosphere. I agree with your wife, it definitely is one of your best builds. The stonework is also some of your best, and the hexagonal tower is ingenious. Ugh thanks for reminding me of the challenge deadline. I am slowly chugging away a the first catrgory, but I had better get a hurry on
