  1. I've found it, thanks! Something seems a little off about him to me, but it's probably because of the weird pose. The previous one had incredibly short lower arms, but it appears that this one has lower arms that are way too long. I also don't know why his lightsaber hilt has been extended by one of those pieces. I'm also not too fond of the use of those recent shin pieces as his lower leg armor, the boot pieces with kneepads looked a lot better. The use of the SW torso shell looks a little out of place as the belt area of that part doesn't line up with the belt area of this Vader. The printing looks a little weird around his stomach. Also, I thought his helmet was gonna be a bit bigger and more accurate than the previous one, but here it looks about the same size, which is weird because there's supposed to be a head underneath. But other than that, I really like the new cape, chain, better proportions for his shoulders and the waist cape. Would really like to see the finalized human head underneath the helmet.
  2. The Vader image is not on reddit. Where have you guys found it?
  3. It's just a stock image of the 2014 system ISD.
  4. Amazing build and great figure selection. It looks pretty official too, definitely wish this were a real set.
  5. I haven't built either set yet so you might want to listen to someone else, but I think the U-wing is a much better deal than the TIE Silencer. For about the same amount of money, you get a nice ship with interior and space for multiple figs and tons of functions, while the TIE is only a single-seat overpriced starfighter with no functionality whatsoever. The TIE does look really great though, but it's not the best display piece out there with its unfinished back/underside with blue pins. It doesn't even have a proper control panel in the cockpit, it really goes to show how lazily they designed and overpriced it. Meanwhile, you also get a lot of figures with the U-wing. It also depends on whether you like playability over displayability, or which one looks the best to you. You might also want to wait until after you've seen TLJ, so you can determine which ship and figures are more important to you. I'd get either one before Kylo Ren's shuttle. It's a very inaccurate set, and though IMO still good, it might be better to just wait for a better version to come out in the future, perhaps for the Ep 9 wave.
  6. I really like that head-on shot of the Lego AT-M6. Really want to get it some day. I didn’t care for it that much when it was leaked, but the latest reviews and pictures have won me over.
  7. Jabba's Sail Barge from 2006 came with a red snake.
  8. Phasma's helmet is definitely new. The visor matches the setup for the Executioner Stormtrooper. Honestly, the printed black stripe to illustrate the sharp edge at the 'chin', specific to her helmet, already looked kinda weird on the 2015 version and it looks even worse here. I doubt they'd make a new mold for it, but I think her helmet is different enough. Just like the 2016 Stormtrooper buildable figure's helmet looked out of place, because the shape of that was actually Phasma's. Also, I know a lot of people don't want this, but I wish they'd changed the regular stormtrooper visors as well for the TLJ sets. The TFA version is not accurate to TLJ, it looks bad with Phasma and the Executioners and overall I prefer the new look (though I wish the grey grills were a bit more visible). I know army builders won't like this change but they've already changed the new TLJ troop variations to the new setup anyway. They should've stuck with the TFA print for all of the variations, or be more accurate to TLJ, but they went with this weird middle option.
  9. Ah I read past the word axis I believe, it makes sense now. I can see what you mean with the technic bushing on the right wrist, but it could also be an oddly rendered cross-axle portion of a regular CCBS bone.
  10. Part of the neck piece (the front) is indeed shiny. Not sure about the sides, it looks to be a really odd piece. I do like the shot of the side of the box, showing a profile view of Maul's face, which looks much better and much more finalised. Don't you mean Rey and Kylo have the vertical motion, and the Praetorian has the horizontal motion? I'm not exactly sure what you mean by your interpretation of the functions of Maul, as I doubt it would be very effective if his arms swung in different ways while holding on to the same weapon. Also, the arms look to be made completely from CCBS to me.
  11. Clearer preliminary pics have surfaced. I think Vader looks great. His helmet is bigger and his shoulders are narrower, which is great. I think it’s just the angle that makes him look too skinny, it’s not too bad. I really like the chain around the neck and I think they improved the cape, which was not that good on the last version. I’ll have to see final pics of the face before I judge that. He’ll probaby have a gear function. Maul’s face looks a little too squat but very agressive which is cool. He appears to have some new add-ons on his upper arms, representing cloth. It is kinda weird that the lightsaber blades appear to be coming out of his hands. He has a gear function, so I assume his arms move in tandem, like Skull Slicer’s upper arms. I have no idea what the piece filling out his neck area could be. Maybe the hip cloth piece extends all the way through the torso? Boba looks like Jango with a small cape, calf armor and friction adders on his ankles for 5 €/$ more.
  12. What's the difference between a First Order AT-AT and an Imperial one? Or do you mean the First Order AT-ST?
  13. That is not true, there have been tons of Super Heroes figures with dual molded arms, legs and the occasional arm printing, though it appears they are too being held back more since 2017. We pretty much know SW is holding back on it for remake possibilities. The question is, WHEN will we finally see those nice production techniques on SW figures? Even then, it’s quite ridiculous of Lego to omit it so many times, even on figures which will probabiliteit only be released once that desperately needed it. They now also seem to omit arm printing even though that became more and more common in 2012-2013. Bodhi Rook definitely needed a couple of imperial insignias on his upper arms.
  14. I’d say the two pilots are from the Sandspeeder set. There are two of them and they have a new color, like the rumored recolored T-47 itself. I doubt they’re from the Han Solo movie, as the rebel starbird logo has only been defined about one year before ANH in canon IIRC, and the majority of the movie takes place before that.
  15. Yeah it's too bad you can't use the current AT-AT's next to your AT-M6. Then there wouldn't be a necessity for a smaller AT-AT. Even then, I doubt Lego would make that.
  16. A couple of the bricks used here do not actually exist in certain colors.
  17. This is my attempt in making an Ahsoka Tano BrickHeadz. I think the colors and the interesting build for the head would make her a good fit for the BrickHeadz lineup. I only used legal building techniques, but I did use particular colors for bricks that don't yet exist yet, as I'm not planning on building this with physical bricks. I designed it as if it would be an actual set however, so a couple of recolors and new prints would be made for this. The printed pieces will be: - Standard black BrickHeadz eyes (I tried blue like her minifigures have but it doesn't stand out as much in this case) - Printed white facial markings on the 1x4 tile for her cheeks and the 2x4 tile on her forehead - A print for the pink 1x2 sash - Perhaps the printed armbands on the orange 1x2 tiles and the orange diamond pattern on the side of the black 1x2 plates (one diamond per plate) Lego BrickHeadz Ahsoka Tano LDD MOC by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr I especially like how the rows of Akul teeth match the source material, with two being more or less horizontal and four being vertical. The bigger middle one is made from a Nexo Knights shield piece. Lego BrickHeadz Ahsoka Tano LDD MOC by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr I used a yellowish-green 3L lightsaber blade for her shoto, which they should really use for her minifigs as well. Lego BrickHeadz Ahsoka Tano LDD MOC by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr I hope you liked it. Please leave some constructive feedback if you want to.
  18. 75537 Darth Maul will be released in 2018. I'm very excited to get this figure, but he's going to be the standard TPM version. That means he's the same ol' humanoid figure with standard black pieces and limbs. I was kinda hoping he would be the cyborg version from The Clone Wars, so I decided to build one myself in Lego Digital Designer: LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 8 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr He is made using mostly parts in existing colours, so I have the option of BrickLinking the parts if I decide to build him (and Maul's head sculpt will be released eventually). Some changes from these pictures will be made if I were to physically make him however: *The upper leg armour will be made using the 2016 Star Wars upper leg armour shells, as they have the perfect shape. They were however unavailable in LDD. Also, both the SW and 8M shells don't yet exist in dark bluish grey, so I might have to use black SW shells with custom grey stickers on them, or wait until they do exist. *The real one will have the regular lightsaber blade piece, but it was unavailable in LDD, so I used a substitute in the pictures. *The chest armour does not exist in regular red (without printing), so I could opt for a black version with custom red stickers. *I might make custom stickers of the black and red patterns for the torso piece, the chest and the upper arms. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 1 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr I designed it as if it would be an official Lego set, so I had a lot of 'constraints' to work with because it also had to be sturdy and stable. While I by no means have any idea what the precise constraints are when designing such a set, I think there are are only a few things that would not make it if it were to be finalised: *The lightsaber hilt would probably be of the standard design, but I modified mine to look more like Maul's *The 'ribs' that hold his upper body in place are probably a little too fragile for little kids, but I think they are strong enough to be physically built, and I kept them this way because they are crucial to the overall look. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 2 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr The 4M half beam is where it all began, as it is perfect for the shape of the mechanical detail in front of his stomach. I also like the light bluish grey peeking though, as it too is accurate. I wasn't able to make the 'ribs' round though, so that's something to improve upon. I also think the hip section should look a little more curved around the joints, but I do like the 'crotch' section as is. The hip / upper leg articulation is a little limited, like the K-2SO set, but not a lot. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 3 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr I am very satisfied with the leg design, as it is proportionally accurate and pretty detailed. I have chosen DBG over gunmetal, because while gunmetal might look better, most of the parts used here aren't available in that colour and it looks very matte in the show anyway, not as shiny as gunmetal. Plus, the Lego figure from 2013 has a DBG lower body as well. The lower legs are made with a lot of system parts to create the shaping and the details. They are placed around a Technic axle that runs all the way through. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 4 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr The toes are fully articulated using mini ball joints. The middle piece only has 3 ball joints, so I had to find a different way to add a fourth tow. In the end, this reduces its mobility, but it makes it more stable as the figure can securely lean on at least one toe per foot. Maul is posed similarly, with the hind toe extended back, in many of the official images. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 5 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr The 1x2 plates on the backs of the lower legs represent details as well. The arms are very standard. I used a black bone on the forearm to subtly distinguish the gloves from the mechanical parts, and because Maul's elbows look mostly black. I wish the official Lego figures would return to this type of elbow joint, as the B-joints are very restrictive. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul 6 by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr His back mostly consists of system elements. Maybe the shoulder blades could use some stickers as well. Sadly, I wasn't able to cover up the Technic pieces and that dreaded blue pin on his lower back, without making him too bulky. LDD MOC: Lego Star Wars Buildable Figure Cyborg Darth Maul Custom Torso by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr His torso is completely custom, because it needed to be 1M longer than a standard torso (underneath the torso ball attachment point), both proportionally and to make more room for the mechanical 'ribs' and the custom hips. I started out with three glatorian necks as the neck and shoulders, and with the torso ball connector. It was very difficult go make it stable enough, as there were a lot of pin connections that had to be doubled up with axle connections, all within a limited space, but the end result is as sturdy as most custom Bionicle 2016 torso's. I have to wait and see before I order any actual parts, as the design can probably be optimised a bit more. Also, I hope the Maul headsculpt will work well with this MOC. I might have to change some parts to dark red after seeing what 75537 looks like. So that's it. I hope you liked it :) Please leave some constructive feedback if you want. 19. Al of the prelims of BPs that use stud shooters had stud shooters in them. It is very likely the new ones won't contain them.
  20. Can anyone give a hint where to find the images? They are not in the usual place as they have been removed.
  21. The minifig design is correct, and the constraction figure should follow suit. VBBN is right about the face being mostly red, but almost the entirety of the head is black. It would only need red printing for the face and the top of his head.
  22. If they'll go with TPM Maul, the only red part would be his head. So if they print regular red very lightly onto the black piece, it'll probably look a little darker because of the plastic base colour, making it both darker than regular red but lighter than dark red. It wouldn't need a new shade of red for its shells because of the black robes. But anyway, this isn't too convenient for when they later decide to make a shirtless Maul. They should really choose one of their existing colors.
  23. I would really like it to be CW Darth Maul, a TPM Maul wouldn't make much sense in the line-up but I think that's what it's going to be anyway. Since the SW Ultrabuild project was launched on cuusoo in 2012, I have been wanting a chicken-leg Maul, because the system works really well for limbs that have more than one knee. It would be a pretty interesting build, while TPM Maul would be pretty standard and the only red part would be Maul's printed head. Do you think a CW Maul should come with red or dark red parts? I don't know what would be more accurate. Regular red works pretty well on his minifigure, but dark red is more interesting for MOC'ers.
  24. The four The Last Jedi sets are still 2017 sets though. Shouldn't they be discussed here?
  25. All are great, but Revan easily wins.
