  1. You're late for double VIP points when buying this set now. I like the set, but as always I see ways to tinker with it, improve it to my liking. 100€ isn't too hard for what you get, especially since the designer made it a two-in-one model (meaning you can build two additional models if you disassemble the original set, or buy a second copy of the set). The secondary plans are downloadable from this set's page in the LEGO online store.
  2. Have you looked at the videos on the page which link I've given you? Three of your questions are answered in it. And no, there's no pier. Not something that isn't easy to remedy I'd say.
  3. It does so in real life as well. I happen to see it on a Bricks&More event in Geel.
  4. To have a believable defense of the Lion Castle you'd need at least adjust the watermill part of the castle. Half the outer walls there don't have a proper place to pose soldiers.
  5. The funny part is, it will probably have no horses as we are used to.
  6. A platoon generally has 30-50 members, so you're good there. Luckily for us, the current crop of Lion Knights has three different shield versions, so its always possible (and perhaps with a different type/colored helmet) to make that the difference between Knight families. Falcons are a bit harder for that. But I managed to assemble a handful of Silver Falcons, and about a dozen of the old Falcon soldiers are still around from back in my youth.
  7. Platoon-sized is sufficient if you ask me. Real-life medieval armies were usually an amalgation of called-upon knights (with each their own colors and heraldry) and their retainers anyway, and the typical castle wouldn't have a garrison numbering in the high hundreds.
  8. Well, those are certainly different.
  9. I think LEGO is just seizing the moment.
  10. Today I finished the Ninjago City Markets. I'm quite pleased with the look and functions, but I'm not a fan on the low number of attachment points some substructures have. The Borg Tower is the most glaring one, but Garrett's karaoke club isn't too 'attached' as well. Looking forward on how the Workshops build out. Got it delivered today.
  11. It was indeed a joke. Just wanted to indicate that in my opinion it was the Griffins that got the most votes, not the Krakens.
  12. Its the Griffions that won! The Krakens are just the consolation prize!
  13. A well-build scene indeed. Out of curiosity, did you use flextubes within those waterplants to get that wavey effect?
  14. For example on a certain fortunate privateer vessel.
  15. Too bad the 'pens' don't have a hole in them to fit a flame. Would've been perfect. I'm also excited for that rounded window frame. I hope it will come out in reddish brown or dark brown too. It looks like both the small 2x2 and 4x4 quarter-rounded tiles over rhe windows and door are printed as well. I bet next years modular will see a use for them as well.
  16. Ah, it must be that then. One could as well pick all the different shades of blue roof parts from the three sets, and end up with a dark blue tiled roof, and a regular blue tiled roof. Saves the trouble of purchasing the green roof tiles.
  17. Exactly. These kind of sets are meant to be collectors items. If you don't collect, then leave it without regret. There's even more interior then I thought it would have after viewing the leaked picture of the interior. As for the price, I see a lot more large bricks used in this set then in for instance Rivendell (for instance the rounded roof bricks), the textiles in this set are on the larger side as well, and I see for sure 2 sizes of rounded printed tiles.
  18. You'll need alot more then just the green roof shields. Infact, only the light grey and olive green bricks of the workshop are also used in the Blacksmith. The staircase bricks are different (different technique as well), the walls of the middle floor -and roof floor are in tan instead of white, there's the half-rounded bricks (the support pillars) on both sides of the house,... the list goes on.
  19. If my eyes don't deceive me, there's a recolor for the Hobbit legs. Frodo's pants seem to be dark blue now.
  20. Heh, the threads' name just made sense to me. The rover literally deploys sections of a habitat. Well implemented!
  21. A whole four of them (two for Aloe's bow, and two spares) in the set.
  22. The guy has a point. But the nose wings remind me of the Hammerhead starfighter from Space: Above and Beyond, and the engine 'body' of a Goa'uld shuttle of Star Gate Command
