Hopefully 2025 will see some train based set, e. g. a smaller exclusive train inside the City theme, such as a track repair train or a fire fighter's train. The last one I'm not able to relate to why Lego has not already released one - since adults (they would get for variety a specialized train) as well as kids (they like firefighters) would love one.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for the news! 🙂 I'm not happy with the Wolfpack knight: I dislike the disturbed cape and the minifigure simply looks too similar to the one in the MTS. In contrast, I like the longboarder even more that from the first pic: It's nice that he/she (?) has medium sized legs. I hope that the longboard piece (maybe in a different color) then will be available outside of the CMF series, maybe in some City set(s). Now I know what's really missing in this series: a food costume and a musician. -
Gorilla and gorilla baby look good, as well as the new tiger. The red panda isn't my cup of coffee. But what I'm really disappointed about is that Lego missed the chance to give us a tiger baby.

I can't agree more, @SpacePolice89! In these days in the one hand I have to agree with @Murdoch17 that Lego couldn't live without licenses since our today's world seems to be license crazy. But at the same I have to disagree that the classic Lego themes apart from City some sort of failed forever. Look at the majority of the unlicensed sets from the late ninetees to the mid 00s: In contrast to the sets from the eightees and early ninetees they looked horrible simple. It was no surprise that they should fail. In contrast, the licensed sets were build very detailed from the beginning on. So to a decent part, it weren't the licenses but the again more detailed built sets which helped Lego to survive. In contrast, these days Lego releases great and bad sets at the same time - independent whether unlicensed or licensed. That Lego thinks their classic themes don't work, is their own fault. E. g. look at the Pirates wave of the last twenty years: The 2009 Pirates were designed with much love, the vehicles were detailed and the buildings ok. In contrast, in 2015 Pirates got much too small buildings and too undetailed vehicles plus a ship for the soldiers was missing - so no surprise that this wave failed. When Lego releases retro sets which are detailed, designed with love and have a good price ratio performance then they'll be bought like hot cakes. Lego exactly knows what we want. So I really do not understand why they hesitate so much. Apart from that I think it's a bit some sort of duty of a toy company to bring imagination to kids. But licenses are everything other than creativity but only displaying and in the best re-playing scenes from movies and games. Not allowing kids of these days to get access to new Castle, Pirates and Space sets (apart from some expensive ad standalone sets without add-ons) is imo very questionable and unfair. And in some time in the future it will retaliate for Lego because today's kids have no longer a relationship to Lego products, but only to the licenses, and so I predict that when they'll be teens and even adults, they won't buy any Lego any longer.

Thanks for the news! 🙂 The problem I have with this year's City "Space (Port)" sets and very supposably the upcoming Galactic Spaceship next year, too, is that they look too futuristic to fit in a City layout. Btw: It seems that the sets 60458 til 60460 will be soap box derby sets. In the one hand this sounds really promising since we haven't had any soap boxes yet. On the other hand there'll already be these Formula 1 sets - so the winter 2025 wave is going to be majorly racing based. What I don't like since this is very one-sided.

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Let's hope that this will be the case that there'll be (a) Blacktron I set(s),@Classic_Spaceman! The problem I have with this year's City "Space (Port)" sets is that they look too realistic and too City-ish and too less classical Space-ish to fit in a (classical) Space layout. -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
It's exactly like I feared: Apart from the hot air balloon Santa's Post Office is a huge disappointment - concerning building experience, exterior (the building is much too small plus the walls are shorter than the ground floor ist (something which is bad in Friends sets, but in an Icons set it's even worse)), interior (looking quite empty plus no place for the sorting machine) and ninifigure selection (all elves with the same torso and beanie). 👎 -
That's the problem with these exclusive standalone sets: You only get one (big) set - but after that, you don't get the possibility to buy add-ons (in this case: the Bluecoats got a fortress, that's nice, but we sadly don't seem to be getting a decent sized ship for them). It's bad for kids for playability. But it's also bad for AFOLs who want to create a nice and senseful layout. So if Redcoats one day returned, I fear that it would be the same problem: There will either be a huge ship for them or a harbor, but not both. The only possibility I see ist the comeback of a whole Pirates wave. But since Lego today seems - apart from Ninjago and the city theme (City, Friends and Creator) and some very few exceptions - only wanting to release licensed themes and ignoring their own routs with unlicensed and classic themes, I sadly don't see this happening.

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Thanks for the news! 🙂 I hope that the return of Blacktron is correct and won't then lead to a licensed set nobody wanted, like it was this year. Since we already got a redesign of the Blacktron Cruiser, I hope it'll be Blacktron I to go with this set. And I hope that this time we'll get a huge classical Space base (either a redesign of Message Interception Base or a new invented set in the style of old Blacktron I Sets). We already got two classical space ships in the last two years - so there's a big need for a classical space station to go at least with one for them. Since only space ships together with space stations are exciting. -
Thanks! So I guess the F1 sets look like following: 60442: one F1 car, one driver, perhaps a very small side build 60443: two F1 cars, two drivers, perhaps a small side build 60444: one F1 car, one driver and four mechanics, pit stop 60445: two F1 cars, two drivers, a manager, a food vendor, several viewers, huge grand stand, office, food stand, start & stop area, big screen What do you think?

Thanks for the news, @Lego_Minecraft_Goat and @Powered by Bricks ! Could you please repost the winter wave sets list with prices / pieces? I can imagine that this would be a lot of work for you - but it would be very helpfull and nice! Since I like the Lego in house brandings inside the City theme, it's great to hear that the F1 sets will have F1 branding but no direct resemblance to other licensed sets. That the Scrapyard has 871 pieces sounds good, because this means that this supposably will be a decent set. Let's hope that there'll be a small building included, too.
-
Thanks for pointing this out, @Mister Phes ! 🙂 Oh, that's really, really bad news. A new Caribbean Clipper would have had been perfect to go with the new Eldorado Fortress and would have had been a nice System scale sailing boat for the Pirates Theme anyway. So I fear that Lego won't release any Pirates sets in the next years and esp. none with soldiers (esp. Bluecoats).

Supposably the most interesting set being a 4+ set - that's really a pity. Does someone know 1. which other sets of this lineup will be 4+ and 2. how big (price / pieces) the scrapyard is? Thanks for this news! 🙂 Possibly it'll be an exclusive F1 set? Btw: Do you think that the F1 sets will be only inspired by F1 (meaning they have Octan, Sport and other Lego in house ads on the cars) or be with real brands?

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Klaus-Dieter replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
With a redesigned Wolfpack buckler appearing in the new CMF series in January 2025, how big do you rate the chance that we'll get a redesigned 6038 Wolfpack Renegades either for Black Friday this year or as a GWP in spring / summer 2025? -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks for the news! 🙂 Like the majority already said, I see this set maximum middling, too: - The combination of nougat with blue doesn't fit well. - The main building (without entrance and living room) is much too small and looks strange with the top being wider than below. - I fear that when putting the balloon away from its stand, the house will look even more weird. - That the interior floor isn't covered with tiles (like in nearly all previous WV buildings) looks too simple. - Maybe that's a reason why the interior looks empty. I hope with more pics showing up early, I will change my opinion. But for now, apart from the very well designed hot air balloon, the set looks more like the B- or C-model of a Creator 3 in 1 set and seems to be by far the worst WV set so far. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for the news! 🙂 Imo nany of the minifig's accessories (longboard, plush pets, cockatoo, wolf and Persian cat) are brilliant. In contrast, I see the minifigs themselves only middling: There's no "WOW minifigure" for me like in nearly all previous series. And as much as I like the Wolpack knights: To get nearly the same minifigure like in the Medieval Town Square and since some time available via PaB, too, is wasting capacities. They better should have given us a knight going with some of the bucklers in the new Lion Knights' Castle of which we haven't been getting the fitting torsos yet. -
Wolf, cockatoo and Persian cat look brilliant. 👍 Which concerns new animals for the City winter wave, @lifeinplastic, I could well imagine that Lego gives us the sheep in black (instead of white which we already have). One completely new animal mould might well be possible, but I bet only a small one and for sure not more than one.

The problem with the most BDP sets imo is that they're too big and too detailed to go well with the official sets from Lego. I hope so much for a redesign of the 6274 Caribbean Clipper for 2025 to go very well with the new Eldorado Fortress!
-
Thanks for the list, @LCP! 🙂 Like always, minimum two of these sets will be 4+ and so not usuable. And I fear that the Wheel Loader is one of them. I for sure will get the Donut Truck and (if its inside was big enough) the Emergency Ambulance. If the Red Sports Car and the Camper (if it was in a new color) were designed well, I might get them, too. It's a pity that the Tractor again comes in red - a different color would have had been nice. Hopefully there is a new kind of trailer and the sheep is black. Hopefully the Scrapyard will be designed well. If so, this would be something new to add to our cities. The remaining sets don't interest me. All in all I have to say that it's disappointing that there are only cars for the winter wave - let's hope that the F1 sets contain decent side builds (esp. a huge grandstand)!
-
It's very disappointing that it's mid September but we don't have a list of the 1st half of 2025 sets yet. Good news is that there might be a City set in 2025 (supposably more summer than winter) where a baby could get a baseball cap in its size on his head (new mini baseball cap seen in 77054 and 77055).
-
Since Lego ist usually always releasing the same sort of sets, I'd say that we can be sure that there'll be: - police station - big police helicopter - prison transport van - bank and / or security transport van - big fire boat - big fire helicopter - fire chief's car - fire engine What do you think?

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks for the news, @BricksBricksBricks! 🙂 Since I'm absolutely no winter fantasy fan, this is bad news for me. I hoped so much for a building for the center of WV. It's now fifteen years of WV and we still have only four different shops (although there could and should be much more: candy shop, book store, grocery, gas station, sports shop, ...). -

Yes, I agree. Plus we didn't have a helicopter costume yet. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Klaus-Dieter replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I only hope that the January 2025 series will be a regular, unthemed and unlicensed one! Plus I hope that we finally will get minimum one more Classic Castle torso to go with the bucklers in the Lion Knights Castle (white-red / crossed halberds / blue with yellow trefoils / yellow with green strypes)!
