The post office is a great MOC, Mariko! I really it since firstly it's built in a very similar design to TLG's desgin and secondly because it includes everything which is important for a post office. I really hope that TLG will release a post office very similar to yours in 2010! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Very nice MOC, Mariko! It reminds me a bit of a marriage - supposably because of the white colors. Great design! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Very nice MOCs, hopeso009! I especially like the big digger with the black shovel. It looks very authentic! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
-
These are very nice classic town cars, FreeBee! I especially like the first one. But the other cars are very nice, too. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

A very nice MOC, samthelegoman1! This looks very nice and authentic! I even like it how you added the stickers so that it looks much more detailed and realistic. When I saw the first pic which is a bit dark I immediately thought about some dubious figures selling something in front of the shop. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

That's an absolutely amazing MOC, Mariko! I really it. It looks very classic and so lovely! If only TLG would release somthing very similar to that in the City theme, too! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

I already mentioned that some time ago, too, Widdi. But the problem is that TLG doesn't offer a bank to us! But perhaps next year. Klaus-Dieter

I don't think that a new Western theme would be totally different to the original one, SWMAN. There are only two possibility for new Western sets: 1. The "original" ones with which I mean a Western Town: sheriff's office, bank, general store, saloon, post office, train station, other urban buildings, stage coach, Western train, ... fort, gold mine, farm, gold wash, ... This theme would contain all the original characters like cowboys, sheriff, soldiers, banker, ... and consequently would be very similar to the original theme. 2. A Ghost Town theme: ghost town buildings, ghost train, haunted stage coach, ... (like the excellent MOCs BrickMiner and TheBrickster designed) lonely house, haunted gold mine, ... This theme would contain - despite from the original characters - ghost cowboys, ghosts, skelettons, ... and would be like a mixture of the original Western theme with the new "Castle" theme - so a new sort of fantasy theme. But - except for whether we'll get an "orignal" Western theme or some sort of Ghost Town theme - I think TLG will design the buidlings, vehicles and minifigs very similar to the original Western theme. The new Pirates sets show that TLG is beware of that it is very good to go "back to the roots" and release sets in the more classic style. I think - and of course hope, too - that if TLG releases a new Western theme they'll do it in that way, too. Expcept for which theme a new Western theme will be - "original" Western Town or Ghost Town - it would be very welcome! And I'd even like to see some new Indian sets, too. I think it would be the best to have not that big Indian villages but to have two tribes which can fight against - so there would even not be the problem with soldiers against Indians. The best would be if TLG releases a new Western theme which would include: Year 1: Exclusive Sets: Western train with train station General sets: sheriff's office, bank, general store (I don't need them since I already own theme - but these sets would surely be very important to get JFOLs introduced in this theme), saloon , settlers with covered waggon Year 2: Exclusive Sets: farm with wind turbine and post office with stage coach General sets: haunted gold mine, ghost town , little fort/outpost (not ghost town), ghost cowboys Year 3: Exclusive Sets: paddle wheel steamer with little peer General sets: Indian village A, Indian village B, medicin man's tipi A , Indian fount A/B, Indians A and B Of course I'd have lots and lots more wishes - but these would be the most important for me and surely even the most demanded by AFOLs as well as JFOLs. So let's hope! Klaus-Dieter

That's a very nice MOC, Dan! I really like the ancient design. The wind wheel on the roof is a perfect and very lovely addition. Verw well done! Klaus-Dieter

Shall this be a joke? - On the one hand I agree with you, Calvin: The most vehicles of the new sets are much too big and include no car doors - which is really, really . On the other hand there will be some great sets which were never released before (e. g. the farm sets - despite from the horse trailer) - and I think it would be wise to buy them since you don't know whether TLG will ever re-release them or release theme as a re-design in the future. And the buildings themselves are mostly not bigger than the buildings in the classic sets. So I'll surely buy (despite from the horse trailer) the farm sets. I know, it'S very seldom that you buy a set and say "yes, that's 100 percently what I want". This is imo only the case with the amazing 10193 Town Plan. Otherwise there is always even the possibility to design own MOCs. But I think that the exclusive City set for 2009 surely will be something you'll like, too (although I don't yet know what it precisely is and how it looks like ). Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for these new pics, sir dano and bonaparte! Like already mentioned when I saw the first box pics - the new Pirates sets are (despite from that treasue island and the raft) awesome! :pir-wub: It's a shame that I haven't got enought money to buy and enough place to store them - otherwise I immediately would buy them! The soldiers' fort and the pirates ship are - supposably since they look and are very classic designed - the sets I like the most. Of course the fort is for us AFOLs much to little - but be aware that it was surely mainly designed for kids (and the price isn't that high, too). But for balance there are some really, really nice additional things hided in this set - e. g. the little bridge . The pirates ship looks like a re-desgin of the Black Seas Barracuda - great architecture, all classic elements and even a piratess . Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for the great review, Kanal-K1! Like already mentioned several times before this is really an excellent set and surely the bes Caslte set ever (until now)! The only thing which disturbs me is that there is no connecting plate on the bottom of the tree, that the stickers (even the ones for the little signs) are only for one side and that the interior of the first floor of the blacksmith' house is nearly empty. Otherwise it's awesome! I'm hoping for more set of this kind! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for the clearer pic of the Chicken Seller, Skipper 24! This Impulse set is really a great Impulse set - not only because it's something different to fire, construction, police and emergency! But - like many of you already mentioned - a hot dog seller would have been more awaited. Nevertheless great! As for the City summer sets (if the list with the set names is right): I think that the Large Tow Truck surely will be between 25-40 €, the tow truck 10 €, the camper 20-30 €, the garage 50-70 €, the bus/helicopter trasnport/large vehicle set 150 € (since it'll surely be a S@H Exclusive). A few additions since I already commented on these sets: To the garage set: I hope it'll contain roller gates, a lot of additional stuff and a car to repair. If a pizzeria ( ) is included in this set or the bus set I have really no clue - but in principle there must be something additional in the garage set despite from the garage and car if it costs 70 €. To the bus set: I hope that it won't include a large vehicle and a helicopter transport. A bus would be really cool - and even necessary. But what to do with a helicopter transport and/or a large vehicle?! I really, really would prefer to have - like in the brilliant 10193 Town Plan ( ) some amazing (special) buildings included in this set with a lot of minifigs, great architecture, excellent interior of the building and some additional stuff! One thing is imo sure: If there's a bus included in this set there has to be a bus station, too. Btw: Did you remember the lime green cap a minifig wear (Sir Nadroj showed us some pics of a Lego Store in late spring)? I guess that this lime green cap will either belong to a car repair worker - or to a minifig in the camper set (hopefully a kid or a woman). Klaus-Dieter

I, too, now think that these two Impulse sets will never be released. Ok, the king's soldier with the catapult perhaps - since the king's soldiers will surely appear in next year's Castle theme again. But the skeletton chariot surely not - since we (hopefully) won't see again some of this undead on the Castle theme in the future. But now back to possible Castle 2009 sets: I thought again about where the queen minifig might appear. And I came to the result: There might be an Impulse set in which she's included - perhaps with davenport (in the Middle Ages nearly only ecclesiastical "people" and very noble women were aible to write, you know). I agree that this sounds very unrealistic. But only think about this year's wizzard Impulse set. Imo it's inapprehensible why TLG releases Impulse sets which include a special character of which you do only need one since then you even surely only buy one set. Impulse sets should be army building sets (which do not necessarily have to include only soldiers - but minifigs of which you need many exemplars). To other possible sets: How do you rate the possibility for a dwarves' hut next year? Klaus-Dieter

Great MOC, Hinckley! That's a very creative idea how to modify the cinema of the amazing Town Plan set! The only thing I'm not that sure is that the upper part goes with a cinema - imo it would fit much better to a town hall, an office building, a stocl exchange or something like that. Otherwise brilliant architecture upstairs! Very well done! By the way: I designed a little street scenery which includes a cinema, too (not a classic one like yours, but a modern cinema center). I'll show it on EB before Christmas - now it would be the wrong time. Klaus-Dieter

Welcome to EB, BRICKLANTA! Great to see another Western fan! Yes, the best thing would be to buy some old Western sets from Ebay - and even already save some money for new sets (if hopefully there will be some). Since I'm a really big Lego Western fan I bought nearly all my Western sets (used, because new they are much to expensive - and after some time they lokk used nevertheless) from Ebay. You can see my diorama of them (without Indians) here. I think - and of course hope, too - that there will be a new Western theme in the nearer future!!! But like zorro3999 already mentioned it can't be expected before 2011 since next year's the year of Pirates. And there is always then one year after that for throwing in more sets of this theme. Firstly after this time there'll then be place for a new adventure-based theme - like e. g. Western. I, too, think that the Western theme is surely as much popular at kids as the Western theme. So it would imo be strange to release some new Pirates sets (and them even in the classic style with not too many action and horror elements - big compliment ) but no Western sets. But of course you can never know. Like Pencoin mentioned there's a high possibility that we'll get some Factory Western sets in 2009 or 2010. And - if so - the number of sets sold then will surely bring TLG to the decision whether they'll release a new Western theme or not. Personally I'd much more like some regular non-Factory Western sets since Factory sets are always nearly only fan-built and nearly not changed by Lego designers. And the result of some of them is - like the 10200 Custom Cars set - in my opinion . So let's hope for some new great Western sets! Klaus-Dieter

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Klaus-Dieter replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I totally agree with you, UsernameMDM! Please bring back the awesome Western theme, TLG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great ideas, Stealth Hunter! For the City theme I want to add: railway control center (with the possibility that one-two trains can drive through it downstairs, the actual center is then upstairs) toy shop juweler (fast food) restaurant Thanks. Klaus-Dieter -
Thank you very much for that great review, Copmike! That set looks great! Although that's absolutely right, Hinckley, I really would like to see TLG releasing an oil rig set to the general public - but please in (about) minifig scale (and of course with a minifig scaled little helicopter and some minifigs). Wouldn't that be ?! Klaus-Dieter
-
These are great ideas, Grevious! I really would like some sets like these - and I bet that a lot of other AFOLs as well as many JFOLs would like these sets, too! Mainly the bigger carnival rides could be poewered by PFs. And if TLG wants to design some sets very authentic and brilliant they could add some electric lightning for the stands and rides. Why don't you add these set ideas to the list of set wishes in the Embassy subforum?! Klaus-Dieter
-
While browsing through BS I found following two pics of a RSD: This model appears in this exhibition of only official sets - so it's imo very unlikely that it's a MOC. And it looks from size and design very similar to the brilliant minifig-scaled ISD. So?! Klaus-Dieter

To say it again: In the forum from where I quoted the information of a jubilee set, it was said that it'll be a little set - so (imo) no whole castle and even no set which will be as big as the brilliant Town Plan. But of course I agree with you, brickzone - this jubilee set will be surely something which will remind us of the classic castle sets - mainly the first ones which were designed and released. It's a great idea of having the jester in this jubilee set - I didn't think of that yet! So perhaps for a possible tournament: king, queen, jester, two knights and two different knights on horseback (TLG included in the last time always many minifigs in the "Castle" sets). I thought of that several times, too, brickzone. The witch was not only included in the advent calendar but even in the big chess set. Nevertheless I have my doubts whether these should be the only sets which inlcude her. On the other hand the princess minifig was only included in this horrible Skeletton Tower. So perhaps the witch was only designed for the two sets, too. Nobody knows. But the orc queen seems to be an official new minifig. And since the evil fraction then would already have their leader - what to do with a witch?! Thank you very much for this "translation", WhiteFang! So hopefully we'll see an add-on for the awesome 10193 Medieval Market Village! I'm not that sure, natelite. I mean: On the one hand you're right since it surely would be less work and less costs for TLG to release a jubilee set with a tournament where a king's knight fights against a troll or an undead. On the other hand firstly - like already mentioned - this would destroy the whole lovely and (more or less) realistic atmosphere of the set, secondly it would take away the classic style/design/mentality and thirdly you can never know. Nobody expected a set like the excellent Medieval Market Village (in the next years) - and what will TLG release?! Consequently this might be even possible for the jubilee set. TLG designed three new torsos for the amazing 10193 set - so again one new torso for the jubilee set surely would not been too bad/costly for TLG - plus the most people which will buy this set surely will be the same people which will buy the excellent 10193 set, so people which really want classic styled set with more or less classic characters. So let's see! And let's hope that we'll get a tournament without fantasy creatures! Klaus-Dieter

I've got a new idea for some new City sets: one or two old red clinker warehouses like them in the Speicherstadt (Old Warehouse District) in Hamburg a Van Carrier I really would  these sets (mainly the Speicherstadt )! What do you think? Some new ideas, too? Klaus-Dieter
-
I voted for Erdbeereis1 since his vig is on the one hand not that "bloody-minded" and on the other hand very gloomy - so the perfect Halloween vig! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for the new pic of the queen, metalandi! I totally agree with you, Erdbeereis1! The queen minifig looks really ! Whitefang, since I bet that the jubilee set will be (either) a tournament (or a minifig BP (like the one which we'll get in january in the City theme)) I even bet that the queen will be included in this set. It would be a bit and if she would be included in the orcs' castle as a prisoner, don't you think?! Klaus-Dieter

You're welcome! Klaus-Dieter
