Excellent! I really like the shaping of the torso. The cape is cool too.

Agreed on the very nice water splashes around the legs and rocks.

Medieval Village 10193 - still worth it?
LettuceBrick replied to LudeBene's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Without (m)any "traditional" castle sets being offered by Lego at the moment, I would say that the MMV is an excellent choice. -
Some Recent Middle East style builds
LettuceBrick replied to Ayrlego's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I really like the cohesive overall style. You build sand very well. -
I like how you made the ground and the roof. As for the border, my personal recommendation would be something that delineates the edges of the build a little more sharply. I would suggest brown or black, though I appreciate eventual reluctance to adopt such a standard, if effective look. Another idea would bee to texture the gray sides in an understated way. I hope that helps!

Wow, all of the different circle diameters must have been really tricky to work out. The result is fantastic, especially all of the architectural textures. I also like the judicious use of studs.

Amazing details, especially on the inside. The outside looks pretty good too, though I would suggest recessing the lights on the sides a little bit, as they seem to stick out a bit much. Other than that, it looks great!

Excellent diorama, I really like the overall atmosphere. My favorite part is surely all of the different workstations and machine tools on them.

What did you guys think of the Mars Mission series?
LettuceBrick replied to Electricsteam's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I never had much Mars Mission, but I loved it all the same. The variety of vehicles, especially for the humans, really gave the impression of a complete universe. I was also quite fond of the Lego.com Mars Mission RTS game. I must admit the aliens were rather badly done, though I suppose some of the rationale for it was so they could fit in the launch tube things at the base. -
Lego Elves waterfall castle tree
LettuceBrick replied to BenA's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Looks very idyllic! I really like both the purple tree and the more regular one. The curved stairs also look excellent! -

So many amazing details. I really like how each building is so different and yet they all fit together within the layout.

Looks very promising! I particularly like the way you used arches to portray all of the rounded supports and openings. The carpet is great as well.

Crusaders keep - tribute to classic castle sets from 90´s
LettuceBrick replied to richchie's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I really like this update or tribute. It keeps the same overall feeling but adds modern techniques. It's also a nice counterpoint to the (immensely impressive, of course) rickety castles that have been in vogue lately. My favorite detail is definitely the vines that are climbing the walls. -
I really like the irregularities of the roof and the texturing of the path. The door looks great as well, as do the barrels used for the roof juncture.

I use about a dozen tackle-type boxes from IKEA, along with flatter cardboard boxes I've picked up over the years to store most of my Lego. For smaller parts I use a drawer system as well as an actual tackle box. It has worked quite well up until now, but I've noticed that spreading the boxes around and finding parts in them to build with has become more of a pain.
