My Imperial Guards have red hands from the ISD, isn't that normal? You don't get to use the online form? That does stink ... *n*

One of the toughest assortments to choose from yet. I almost wish there was a way to weight the voting and pick a top 3 in each, they're just that good and the difference in getting the vote or not is incredibly close. One vote for Isotope who just edged out NBFD841 from sweeping my votes, which doesn't surprise me since he came here making it clear he was a fire equipment builder. Honourable 'almost votes' to Sinner for presenting a great take on a different style of engine than I'm used to, UniqueBuilder for a ladder that packs in a lot of detail in the right proportions, and LasseD for an ARFF with so many cool features. Great job by all! *wub* *y*

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Vignette! Entry Thread
Shadows replied to Shadows's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It isn't much, but to go along with ... `Well, I hope you had a lousy evening.' `I did,' said Richard. `You wouldn't have liked it. There was a horse in the bathroom, and you know you hate that sort of thing.' I LDDed up this little bathroom scene. I haven't read it in a long time, and for some reason I'm seriously thinking that it should have the monk on it's back, but I couldn't manage that in LDD, or remember what he looks like, or figure out how that would have fit in a bathroom in real life, which has little to do with the story, so I'll shut up now. The rendered colours aren't exactly to my liking, but with and without the horse you can get a decent look at the bathroom itself, which is really where I put my effort. Oh, and I stole the toilet from Hinckley, so if you see him hopping around like he needs to go and doesn't have anywhere, it's my fault. X-D If anyone has any bright ideas for a shower curtain, post it over in the discussion thread please, I felt silly not including one, but it would have obscured everything, had I even figured out a way. -
Spent the day sorting little bits into crafting/storage containers. All minifig parts and accessories. Pirates stuff. Castle stuff. Town stuff. Space stuff. Star Wars stuff. Adventurers/Studios/Misc specific theme stuff. Hats/hair not in the previous categories. Leg assemblies/hips/legs. I need to go buy more containers. Oh, and I too tried a Super Target to no Dwarven avail.

No, you misunderstand. He isn't an actor on stage, he's a stage actor. He acts like he's a stage. I had some funny angle for this but I've forgotten it now, so just shut up. Stage coach? No, it wasn't that. Rocket stage? No. Well crap. *hits cancel* *n*

That doesn't make him a great leader, just desperate. Still, good to see him get a vote. He did come along late in the game, which was a particularly difficult time for real pirates, so that earns him some respect. *y*

A nice gesture that will hopefully turn into a meaningful change. Personally, I'm an unending ray of sunshine in an otherwise gloomy world, bringing joy and happiness upon all I survey *wacko* , so I can't understand negativity, but I can certainly forgive it as human nature. That said, you've never offended me directly either, keep up the good work! *y*

No excuses necessary. Heck, I'm not even convinced there is a Europe. Oh, and yes, we're good for pics and early info. Very freedom of speech oriented compared to some places. So, welcome and enjoy, honourary Eurobrickian.

*runs around ranting and screaming that comics aren't canon and don't count!* *wacko* I really should read the comics one day ... ;-)

Definitely Broadside. Goes from ship to fortress, never wrecked, never beaten in recorded LEGO history. Tiny ship, tiny base, still blazing fear in the hearts of pirates everywhere! Plus he was part of my first and last new pirate sets (having entered my dark ages promptly thereafter and not coming out until it was too late).

Thanks! *sweet* Are you kidding? That thing is great! *wub*

I spent the day going to sewing and craft supply places (a few were having sales) and picked up a big pile of shiny storage containers for ... LEGO, of course. *y* Checked some other stores and couldn't find a single worthy LEGO set to buy. :-(

Oh, and yes I'll be entering, but I won't win. It'll just be a basic thing based on the horse in a bathroom quote, nothing particularly wild.

2008 Exclusives turn up on "Replacement parts" page
Shadows replied to sam89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It stopped working shortly after it began. Very little useful information was gathered, for example, we haven't a clue what was in the Death Star set, and the others were vague and hard to determine at best. Still, it was interesting, and probably not going to happen again since they must have noticed. -
Welcome to the wackiest whackiest land of LEGO goodness ever! Oh, and dragons are definitely welcome. Have you any dragon creations you could share with us? Crazy antipodes ;-)

Very chocolate bar looking and without the red that makes you frown. *y* Are these beards the same plastic as the old long beards, ie rubbery? It might just be the material taking the colour differently, but I do like the look of it. Won't go with any of the standard hair colours, of course. Ah LEGO, the only consistancy anymore is that nothing stays consistant. :-|

Ok, "this" is getting "annoying" and will result in "whacking" if you aren't "careful." *wacko* More importantly, the entry thread has been created and Master *yoda* was kind enough to pin it as well. As for a prize... I dunno. Maybe we can talk someone into giving the winner a snazzy Adams inspired title, or at the very least I'll put them in my Big Billboard o' Doom for a month of free praise and adulation. Now stop doing "that" or you'll go "blind." :-| Oh, and go read the thread so you don't have to ask stuff we've covered :-P

I'm still not ready to buy a new camera since mine died, so can I have a digital entry pass on this one? I'll keep it limited to parts I actually have in reasonable quantities. Kinda sucks too, I own tons and tons of orange. Oh, and you're added to the Big Billboard o' Doom as well, not to add any pressure or anything ;-)

Um... let's see here. Thanks to everyone, especially TheBrickster for putting on a fine show! Now... what the hell was up with that ending? It felt so ... sudden. I liked the crazy Bennie angle, it fit him well, and having the harbour master actually be whatever the hell those things are supposed to be was nice, but it just lacked something in flow (I know that irregular posting situations contributed to that and couldn't be avoided). I liked how Sinner solved the code, but beyond that it didn't seem like the players had a fair chance to figure anything out on their own without being led to it directly. Somehow it felt like traveling from one fixed point to another, even though it went in a lot of directions inbetween, it was still a straight trip. If, for example, during the part where the cargo was being examined, the Captain had asked to look at #5, the story would have just changed the important one to #7. I think what went wrong for me is my expectations. I was looking at this as interractive fiction instead of a play within a limited range of possibilities. Really my fault on that. All of that said, I still loved a lot of it, especially those of you who put so much effort into the project and hope to participate in one myself one day. Then I'll probably have a better understanding of just how difficult it must be to pull this off. Overall, I'd give it *y* *y* *y* *y* out of 5. Definitely worth following and better than anything on TV, by far. X-D

How did I ever miss this thread? imperialshadows ... it's something of a multipurpose thing. imperial 1. Simple Star Wars connection, not hard to imagine (and SW pulled me out of my dark ages and back into the wonderful world of LEGO). 2. Went into my dark ages right after starting the then (1989) new Pirates, with a special fondness for the Imperials. shadows 1. Bears a vaguely mysterious or unknown factor, not unlike myself. 2. Responsible for my original sigfig, who is a spy (or is he?) during the pirate era. 3. A slightly annoying (to others) habit of sneaking up on people. I'm stealthy, and known to step out of a shadow right on top of a person who never knew I was there. When you factor in my height (6'3") it scares the megablocks out of people, much to my pleasure. Put it all together and what have you got? A boring story. :-P

Since you so shamelessly mentioned it over in the 'How Old are you' thread, it seemed only fair to post it here :-P Happy Birthday kid, hope it's full of rattling boxes of ABS goodness, and some cake. Gotta have the cake. *y*

Happy birthday Hairy. 16 huh? From what I'm reading that almost makes you one of our senior members ;-) Oh, and I'm 190, give or take 157 years. Don't ask. *wacko*

Welcome to EB! Aayla Secura the jedi, or the user? I'll assume the user, as there is no confusing the droolirific jedi with a 'him', especially if you were sitting there building Hoth. Wait, if you're building Hoth with her, we need to discuss priorities anyway ... All that said, be sure to join in on the madness. I've heard that crazy people visit here, but so far I haven't met one. *wacko* *y* *tosses a blue bucket full of clam cream toward the other room and steals Sinner's Technic Bulldozer while he's distracted*

The Great Jelly Alien Spoof Poll thread
Shadows replied to Corvus's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Votes have been cast. You are now free to wonder whom for (I will say that I voted for two different vigs). Looks like this really shaped up to be a great competition, nice work Mandy! ;-)
