COMPETITION! Design and build a household item from LEGO!
Shadows replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in Special LEGO Themes
An excellent idea that is now immortalized in ... the Big Billboard o' Doom! *y* -
I'm just surprised we haven't been seeing a bunch of new Viking mocs made with the beards and helmets. I might have to play around with those some. If you stare at the 'dusty' background baseplate long enough, then start moving your eyes around, it makes the brownish areas look like they're moving. *wacko*

That was a good deal indeed. *y*

The very first thought I had when I read his underwear definition was of you ... 8-| X-D

Posted a review for the loser. *n*

Nice work shary! I like all of the different hazards like the fire shooting from the wall and the spots where the trans plates look lit up like buttons or lights. I wasn't sure about having two Batman figures, but then in my mind I made up a plot point where one of them is a projection (probably the one coming down from the ceiling) meant to distract Two-face and the real one is crashing through the wall to surprise the villians. I like it! *y* It does sound like you had fun. I'd like to participate in some kind of limited time/limited parts situation like that, hopefully I'll get to a show with something like that one day. What is a "minifigs in change of time" project? I've never heard of that before, but it certainly looks interesting. Batman Surprise Attack On! *y*

As we join this special behind the scenes episode of EB Community News, you, the viewer, will finally have the opportunity to see just how things work here in the studio! Now you people see the kind of working conditions I have to deal with ... :-| As you may guess, they don't pay me enough for this job. |-/ Oh, and put that scorpion back in your pants where it belongs. In a clash between a scorpion and the undead, scorpy loses. *skull* That thing above me is a TIE? I always thought it was some kind of funky microphone. Explains why I'm always having to shout to get you to listen to me. >:-( Good thing I like yelling at you! *y* Also note how bad my cape looks. As I've mentioned before, the kid does my laundry. I never said he did it well... :-| Well, thank you for joining us on this little tour of the studio and all of it's associated hazards and perils (mostly his questions X-D). Due to a glitch in our interoffice memo system (PM!), our next interview has been delayed by a day or two, but it'll be appearing soon and I'm sure you'll all be interested in our first interview that features, *ahem* colourful language ;-) Blue Language On! *y*

Welcome toe EB! Is "The Titanic sails at dawn" a Bob Dylan reference? Pure landscapes or part of a theme display, like a huge English countryside with a castle? Be sure to look around, you'll find more SNOTs on here than you can possibly imagine, and that's just some of us X-D

Welcome to our little corner of LEGOland! What are curverboxes? Your LEGO 'black-out' is what some of us call our 'dark ages', and fortunately, we've all recovered nicely, as have you *y* Next year looks to be a fine year for some new LEGO, be sure to browse around and see all the coming sets so you'll know just how many hours you'll have to work to keep up ;-) Enjoy! :-)

It wouldn't take 1817. Trust me, I tried. ;-)

:-| Not the red caped Johnny Thunder theory again, I hope ... :-P Can't be that hard to pick up a Qui-Gon or Obi-Wan and a brown tricorn! The head shouldn't even be that tough, but creative posing takes care of that anyway. Just be glad I don't have a camera right now, Frankenfurter... (geez, have I asked enought times to get whacked? :-$ I just want to be loved, and someone *wacko* here once said that to be whacked is to be loved ... :'-( )

Sure ... you really are 12, I just act it! :-P

+ + hair and legs (for the halloweenified one, at least) Halloweenified. Sounds like an impending contest from Hinckley :-P
-
Oh megablocks, now what will I do? X-D Stalker! >:-( :-P

A fine little set with 64 pieces and 3 figures for under $10. May have seemed a bit steep in 1991, but I wouldn't know, I'd passed into my dark ages already, so alas, I haven't a copy of this set. Looking at the parts list, I could build one out of my current inventory though. Issued today for $10, I'd buy no less than 14 of them, even though it does lack the obligatory rowboat for the pirate to make his escape in. Very nice review and comic, thanks for doing them! *y*

Only time will tell. The idea of hanging it scares the crap out of me though. I can't imagine it not eventually causing some kind of warpage over the length of larger technic beams. I haven't built mine either, pretty much the same display space problem, but I'm absolutely certain I'll never hang it.

It's funny really, my favourite part of most mocs is the little side detail that isn't meant to be considered important, but just looks so perfect. In this case, it's the skeleton leg pedestal. *wub* (Personally, I'm not completely sold on those swords either, but I like your use for them) *y* New grill slopes? 8-| How did I miss this? Oh, and I like the goblin priest as well. Or is he an orc? An orge? Better head back over to the troll warrior voting thread again, I'm getting confused. *wacko* Overall, some very nice work here, though I'm not sure about the rubbish bin walkers, but I'll definitely give them points for originality and creative parts use! MOC Update On! *y*

I can't take the little ones seriously as trolls, so if we're stuck with that, they'll henceforth be referred to as "baby trolls" by me. Or maybe midget trolls. Troll-ettes. Trollops! YES! Let's give them all lipstick and they can be slutty female trolls! We always complain about not getting enough female minifigs ... X-D Yeah yeah, like anybody has the nerve to whack me. >:-) Fortunately, no one remembers my sigfig anyway X-D

And what we're describing now is less the fault of the holidays and more the general decline of manners and civility. Though I must admit, I'm not a big fan of fireworks either, at least not up close. We have the 4th of July and New Years to put up with those, especially the morons who launch their own and haven't a clue what they're doing. I had no idea that Halloween and Guy Fawkes (yes, I do celebrate it in a very low key way here in the states) had gotten so out of hand there. In the US, the worst that really happens at Halloween is a bit of rowdiness and the odd toilet papering/egging, which isn't common at all (no more so than random ones that might occur at any time). Or maybe I've just been lucky. :-) Sorry to hear that society is in such decline and unable to behave in a reasonable manner. Seeing the way people behave in public, and how their children act as well, I'm not really surprised, but saddened nonetheless.

Definitely ImperialScouts. Back when I used a more traditional sigfig, it was: He did actually mention wanting to make one of me for some kind of studio whack but he didn't have the right parts at the time. I assume my day will come though :-| ;-)
-
I think he's referring to the picture on the back of the box that shows the set including both a hat for the pilot and a full Vader helmet to replace the damaged one shown on the front. I don't think the sent includes a full undamaged Vader though, which would have been an unnecessary added expense.

It's not much of a confession, it's just my third childhood X-D Actually, I'd be in the 9th year of my third 12yr childhood. This is getting too complicated. *wacko* I've never been called mature before, even by the standards of a 12yr old... 8-| I'm not sure if that's good or bad :-P
-
This is clearly going to be an improvised theme, so we'll have to stretch a bit to make it work, but I like the idea. Fabuland included both drums and drumsticks, as shown here: I have absolutely no idea how those would work with a normal sized minifig. You could easily use shifter handles for drumsticks and work something out with a 2x2 round brick and round tile top for the drum, in a pinch. For a Tyrolean hat, the best I can come up with is one of the old green forestmen's hats with a feather plume. It's about as close as it'll get, especially in green. Oom Pah Pah On! *y*
-
That's pretty much what I've decided as well. Buy one and see how it goes. I'll definitely admit that. If this had been, "Issue #9 is ready, but you must buy it immediately" instead of a last free issue, I'd have probably written them off completely without trying one of the pay issues.
-
You do that, and while you're at it, try to get her back into LEGO too >:-) Innuendo On! *y*
