Dug though an insane number of boxes of random stuff. Found video games, old computers, books, you name it, and then I finally found what I was looking for... My entire pre-dark ages LEGO collection, which isn't as voluminous as I remembered, but still quite a find. 3 gallon ziplocks of sorted colours, an old large sized bucket full of ships hulls and just about everything else I didn't sort and just dumped in apparently :-|, a stack of baseplates (Eldorado, moon craters, old roadways) and my real pride and joy, a big container of minifigs, accessories, and printed parts. This is going to be some serious fun to sort through *sweet*

Welcome to the official Hitchhiker's Guide to the Vignette Entry Thread, brought to you by myself and the hostess with the mostess, Mandy Lori Ann, sometimes known as Mr. Mandalorian here (for some reason). :-P Please see the official discussion thread for rules, details, inspiration, and to comment. http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...topic=11327&hl= If I catch you posting anything but entries here, I'll mock you mercilessly on the proper thread until someone with some power comes along and spanks you for being bad. :-P `Well, I hope you had a lousy evening.' `I did,' said Richard. `You wouldn't have liked it. There was a horse in the bathroom, and you know you hate that sort of thing.'

An eBay find that just made me laugh too hard
Shadows replied to Shadows's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Our installment today brings us the incredible opportunity to buy something shockingly rare! Now honestly, I like boobies as much as the next guy, assuming the next guy isn't Hinckley :-P, but this is just silly ... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=190158484167 Yes, that's right, for just $30 you could have never before seen (by this idiot seller) LEGO cleavage! WOW! 8- -
I'm with *vader* here, I can't work up much love for Exoforce on it's own, but I do like some of these parts and will buy almost anything with some dark colours in it, so this is a winner. Actually, my entire Exoforce collection has been as a result of S@H clearances and I've only built the two smallest ones. I might really like them and just not know it yet. This might be the set I give an honest try. *y*

Not necessarily! Maybe he's a butt plucker 8-

Excellent! Not a loser in the group. Sure, there are things I wish they'd make (how hard would it be to give us a woman and a different colour dog, for example) but overall these are promising. Maybe, just maybe, we're seeing the return to the classic days of LEGO greatness, one step at a time. Little sets with a nice figure and some accessories by every cash register can't hurt a bit! *y*

I'm browsing around your folders and am genuinely impressed by the detailed simplicity of your efforts. I see a lot of good ideas I fully intend to steal and use myself to make extras to fill in the gaps where LEGO never bothered to go. Excellent work, thanks for sharing! *y*

Nope, definitely a lightsabre handle, look at the way it attaches into the other piece and note the two ridges going around it. No question in my mind. The mudguards are actually referred to as a Flag 2 x 2 Trapezoid at Peeron and Bricklink and came out in 2005, but this will be their first appearance in bley, so that's a nice addition to the range. http://peeron.com/inv/parts/405

A Hard Day's Fight - INTERACTIVE!
Shadows replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Very nice vig as always, the outdoor shooting must make you look quite the freak to all who survey it, but it's worth it to amuse us. Carry on! *y* Oh, and let the wookie knight win. -
Welcome OSDNB! Always good to see Doom, Quake, Half-life, and the A-Team represented *y* If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can remember his whole name, maybe you can hire oobie scoob doobi noob banobie.

Officially added to the Big Billboard o' Doom (below) *y*

YES! I've been waiting so long for one of those and your new picture makes it very clear that you're right on the two main parts involved. Black Lightsabre On! *y*

lego's last star wars set (speculation)
Shadows replied to Looking for a display name's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Set 7999: Everyone Dies. Basically every Jedi we waited for during the entire production run. All with reversable living/dead faces. Ok, not really. The "last set" will just be whatever 4 or 5 they put out at the end, which probably won't be anytime near the official date we currently think. I have no doubt this line will be dragged out far beyond the time it should, and that's tough to say since I like it. Real guess would probably make it something like the 15th version of the X-Wing. -
Could be that deleted users stop counting, but the numbers are never filled in. I was browsing the low #'s one day out of curiousity and noticed that #7 is gone, whoever that was.

Yep, you should all try to be an individual, just like everyone else ;-) I'm heading into my halloween themed avatars now, starting with the Mad Scientist! >:-)

How do I make M$%#B#*^ks seem appealing?
Shadows replied to iamded's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Well, barring setting them on fire, I'd suggest photographing them with boobies in the background. :-P -
That's almost as big a disaster as your avatar! ;-) It really is a terrible design and the colours pretty much tell us that it isn't going to be associated with any of the major carriers. It almost looks like a flying garbage truck to me, for some silly reason. What a piece of junk ... Hey, she'll make .5 past, oh who am I kidding, she is a piece of junk. :-$

Excellent review with great pics and cameo appearances by some of our EB favs *y* Definitely a set that was on my 'to get' list already, and this only confirms that. Might make me want two, just because I love tan so much and I'd like to see if something could be done to bulk up that car. Great job as always! :-)
-
Yay! :'-) Have you ever not been naughty? >:-) Congrats Gylman! A lot of detail and thought and effort, not to mention half your display collection, went into that beauty! Great job! *y* And I'm still thanking the one kind soul who voted for my entry, whoever that may have been ;-) New contest going to be imperialshadows friendly and take LDD entries within the limits of reason and fair play? I'd even be willing to work under a # of parts limit, and build the real model as well, scouts honour.

The problem with a flexible whip is how to make it. The only fairly effective way would be wire inside plastic, and that's a huge eye-poking hazard when extended to full length. If they get panicked over technic cannons, imagine coated wires! 8-

Excellent beginning. Our numbers are very close, but I haven't the luxury of space to build it, so I'll be enjoying it by proxy through you. Enjoy! *y*

Had a chance to read through it finally and enjoyed it tremendously. It had a timeless feel that is often lost in stories of this kind. It didn't try to put itself anywhere but where it naturally belonged, a difficult effect to master and incredibly well done here. Without spoiling the ending ... nope, I can't find a way to say it without doing so. Please be sure to shamelessly promote your future efforts as well, I'd appreciate reading them *y*

The most important one to me ... As you're typing up your post, think "should I post this?" Trust your instincts on that. If you're right, you'll make good posts most of the time. If you're wrong too often, you won't be around to keep screwing up anyway ;-)

Not when he shaves, puts on his red dress and heels and goes out as Mandy Lori Ann

One vote is a successful result for an entry with no boobs. ;-)
