Was this really the place ... er ... nevermind :-P Yep, we are, and yep, it was one heck of a tough vote. I'd still like to know who the moron was who voted for me :-| I'm really looking forward to another one of these, just to see the creativity out of the crowd here on EB. :-)

It's like MOC reviews. Um, great ... parts selection. Er, nice colours. Yeah, it looks good. Make some more! Always makes me nervous ...

Mine is just under 1000, they're really shipping out at random. I did order within 10 minutes of it appearing on S@H US, but still ...

Ok, with the recent move toward sudden themed avatar changes, I thought we might need a thread just to keep up to date. So, first it was the Muppets. Well, they're over apparently and now it's the Simpsons, everyone's favourite yellow people who aren't made of ABS plastic. *snap snap* Get with the program now. Excellent... >:-)

We're going Simpsons now??? 8-

Questions from cub reporter Stauder@55 will appear in bold. Answers from Sam89 in red. Everything I say will be in italics, just as it appears over my head in real life. Really. Welcome again to another exciting episode of Eurobricks Weekly, I'm your host, imperialshadows, and in just a moment we'll be switching over to our reporter in the street (I keep telling him not to play in the street, kids today...) Staudie, er, Stauder@55! First, this commercial break. *breaks various commercials* That's better. Now for the interview you've all been waiting for, Staudie is with Sam89, our resident LEGO tipster. Take it away Staudie! Er, uh *cough* *tap tap tap* is this thing... OH! *piercing feedback* There you are! Oh yes, I'm most thrilled to be able to bring you this exclusive interview with Sam89, hot off the trail of new LEGO secrets! Q. Why The name? Do you have a SigFig? A. I wasn't very imaginative with the name. My name's Sam and I was born in 1989! I'm one of the few people who don't have a sig fig, but if I did, it'd probably be a variation of the Jango Fett in my avatar. Q. Where do you get your news from? Does it get sent to you or do ye search? A. I used to have a mysterious source named Mr X, who was shrouded in mystery. I lost him eventually however. Lots of the time I'm just bored and I search. That's how I discovered the new 10178 AT-AT. Q. What is your Fav Theme/set? A. My favourite theme is Star Wars. I have a few other sets from other themes such as Exo-Force and Creator. My favourite set is the UCS Star Destroyer; that thing's huge! Oops. *zips* :-$ Q. What is your fav news article so far? A. The 10131 TIE Collection article goes down in history. We finally put that story to a (disappointing) end! Q. From the Members you've met how can you describe them? A. I haven't met any members in real life, so it's tricky ;-) Q. What is you Best EB Moment? A. It's hard to pick one. I'd say any time that Eurobricks has got the scoop first. I like mine in a cone. Q. Your best lego related moment IRL? A. Winning a Golden C-3PO. I seriously wasn't expecting that! Lucky *bleeeeep* ... >:-( Q. What news do you hope to post someday? Ie - Lego making Tautauns. A. Something along those lines. Posting news of the set we've ALL been wating for. They're finally making Hello Kitty themed LEGO??? Oh, nevermind. :-$ Q. Am I annoying? A. Indeed X-D Kid never learns ... Thanks for joining me today Sam89, it's been great talking to you! And now back to the studios with imperialshadows, a guy nobody likes talking to! >:-) Cute. Real cute. *makes a note to schedule the next interview during rush hour traffic* So there you have it folks, another set of great answers to marginal questions, slightly jazzed up by that brilliant editor and all around great guy ... *signal dies*

Ding ding ding, we have a winner! Furniture would rock hard! I'd seriously *wub* something where you put together not just a single piece of furniture, but an entire room, much like the old homemaker sets. Er. 8-| :-$ X-D Better yet! Furniture and female minifigs! With big boobs! *masculinity restored!* Whew. ;-) I really do like the 'homemaker revisited' idea and would steal it myself if I wasn't haphazardly running that Douglas Adams vignette contest with Mandy Lori Ann. I wouldn't visit too soon, it looks like that old dude is going to mindlessly wander over towards those two thugs and get his megabloks kicked. 8-

I've always figured that there are enough types of competitions out there to satisfy any kind of builder. Actually, of the current or recent contests, more are suited for small collections than anything. Look at the list: City Vehicles Figurehead Contest Wild Wild West Whack-a-Jelly Firetruck Contest Hitchhiker's Guide All are either small, or certainly friendly to more limited collections. I don't think the answer is necessarily limiting things, it's just good to have a lot of contests running at a time, making all styles of building in constant demand. About the only thing not running right now is something for just minifigs, and I'd like to see that, custom or not (and I'm a purist, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate a nice minifig custom).

It's all the same concept as: There have been a lot of unofficial battle packs along the way and the only thing that hurt them was overshipping. It's probably why the ones this time were so hard to get at first, LEGO didn't want to see a bunch on clearance at $3 until they'd sold hundreds of thousands at full price. Suddenly I miss those glorious days of clearanced out sets with great figs for practically free. I don't even mind all those Gungan Patrols I bought now...

What's the deal with animated avatars?
Shadows replied to iamded's topic in Forum Information and Help
That is incredibly obnoxious. I'm surprised Staudie didn't go for it :-P -
*tries to distract the conversation back to where it belongs* How 'bout those boobs, huh? ;-)

I'm not even putting it together, I don't have the space to display it. I dug through the box, ooohing and aaahing over all the pretty parts and the 300+ page instructions. They give us 2 books for everything now, but shoved all 308 pages (as I recall) in one for this, go figure. Then I closed up that box, reboxed it and reboxed that box until everythere was back where it came from. One day ... As for limited, they'll just take the logo off and drop the certificate eventually. I'd like to see what the highest known first edition # is. Mine doesn't help, I'm under 1000. I suspect Europe has some lower #'s since they got first crack at it by a few hours, unless they're just thoroughly random. I've seen a # up to almost 2500 though, making it a healthy sized edition and a nice profit for LEGO.

Waldorf: These seats are awful. Statler: Why? Can't you see anything? Waldorf: That's the problem. I can see everything. Heckle On! *y*

I didn't know about this thread ... Mine came from all of the contests and events I advertise in my sig, which *yoda* noticed and whammo, titlerific. *y*

*sing* *turns off the radio* Who left that in here? *wacko* Another excellent job! You're beginning to build quite the reputation as a Mad LEGO Lighter! Obliteration On! *y*

The Disney folks are on the phone threatening to sue. :-P Actually, it reminds me of this classic moment in television history ... Mermaid On *y* -
Welcome to Muppet Labs. I'm Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, here to bring you a revolutionary new concept in forum posting. *whips out the Flamethrower of Quality Posting* Oh Beaker, Beaker! Come over here for a moment. No need to be nervous, I just want you to make a post on a forum. Yes, that's right, you like forums. Hmmm... Now Beaker, that isn't a very good post. No, I'm sorry, it just isn't. Meep? MEEP! *sets Beaker on fire with the Flamethrower of Quality Posting and watches as he runs around screaming MEEEEEP!* There you have it, now the forum quality has been restored through the use of wanton violence and blatant disregard for safety, making your posting experience more pleasant, though Beaker is looking a little hot under the collar. Muppet Labs On! *y*

FINALLY! :-) Though I must admit, they mislabeled that one ... I'm fairly sure it was supposed to be "Imperial Crapship", but who cares? Stormies and Rebels to kill! >:-) Army Builders On! *y*

The Many Adventures of the Whacker and the Walrus Issue #3
Shadows replied to Hinckley's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
As a fully trained Dr. myself, I'd like to think that I can diagnosis a number of ills. From the symptoms mentioned, I suspect that some of you with 'monitor' problems are actually listening to too much Corey Hart. My advice is to cut back a bit and perhaps switch over to Tears for Fears, but don't overdo them either or you'll end up with Simply Red eyes. X-D
