[MOC] VAG BUG
februar88 replied to februar88's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you for all your kind words. Unfortunately there are no plans to make an instruction. Ye, this video i also used for inspiration. Funny moment, this guy has been arrested for 5 or 6 month due to unsafe driving. I don't have buwizz, and any plans to buy it. It's out of my rules of purism (sbrick doesn't change performance). But yes, it can be motorized with buwizz, and also, now it will be better to make it with new wheelhubs. -
Here's my MOC (rather old, actually) – VAG BUG (vw beetle buggy) Features & Functions: Opening doors (with locks), cabin interior with roll cage, v8 fake-engine (operates via M), very soft independent suspension. PF: 4L (single motor for each wheel), M, servo, 2x LiPo, 2 sbrick, 3x lights. Video: More images:

Technic 2019 Set Discussion
februar88 replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well, first of all, TLG, well done, Bravo! It's a very brave step. I've heard so many times "TLG can't make a set like fan's moc", and had to answer "they can, but it will cost over xxxx". Now all of this haters will see that. I guess it's some kind of experiment "are customers prepared to pay for really big, detail, fully-motorised set or they just complaining about". You think that you want... You think you do, but you don't (c). I'm absolutely ok with the new system, cause I pretty sure that 2-3 weeks after release I will download an app in play market to control ctrl+, sbrick with bt-gamepad, so it's not a problem. Migration will be very smooth. Only one thing heart me, and it's a pain in the megablocks: AA batteries! Hello, TLG, It's 2019! My watches have micro-usb+lipo, my pad has it, my phone has it, my headphones has it. Every single 10$ Chinese toy has it. Do I really need to buy batteries every week? Or buy really expensive rechargeable batteries and also find place and time to recharge them? Or waste my time to find the place to utilize them? I'm ok with regular battery boxes in sets, I have rather a big wardrobe to store them, lol. But now it's not useless piece plastic, it's magic-box with bt and gyroscope. And AA batteries? -
Hello folks! I've got tired from supercars and monstrous SUV. So I made (ok, i tried to) some very regular car - Mercedes Benz s124 (w124 estate - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_W124 ) Dimensions (studs): 71*25*21. PF elements: 4L (propulsion), 1m (gearbox), 1 servo (steering) +2sbricks, 3x PF-lights. Features: working fake engine & steering wheel, AWD, 4speed sequential gearbox*, McPherson suspension (front) dwb (rear), opening doors (+locks), trunk, hood. *by Sariel - http://sariel.pl/2015/04/4-speed-compact-sequential-transmission-v11/ Merry Christmas, have a nice holydays!

[TC13] IAERO 1800+
februar88 replied to Aventador2004's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It's very nice, but not flawless. Let's change black small wings (nose) to red and and 1 11-studs liftarm (rearwing) to white. Plus it will be better to change color of the seat. Voila - McLaren mp4/4 -

If you changed little side-wings and the 11-studs liftarm (rear-wing) to red, my McLaren-heart would beat faster :) -
Yesterday i had an insomnia, and i decided to make something for TC13. Actually i finished with my "Sprite" at all. But now i want to show my progress throught the night. Core idea - to make some funny jdm-style car with stance. Now it looks little bit different I have to make a video and make an entry post.

[WIP] F14A Tomcat
februar88 replied to Jeroen Ottens's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Actually we have changed standart NAVY colorscheme and now we use dark grey for all kind NAVY aircrafts. Earlier we used to apply any sort of camouflage (desert, khaki, urban, dirty blue) topside and light blue for underside - to make aircraft less visible at any angle. But now it's useless, ofc.- 59 replies

Thank you! This vehicle has fake suspension, so the steering works rather good only on a flat surface. Also it has strong resistance because of external wheels, but it works as you see on a video. It was really challenging to make it in such small scale. My main goal was to make it recognizable and to make working drilling mechanism with extension function. So yes, steering is not perfect, but i'm ok with it.

Hello everyone! I'm glad to show you my Armageddon Armadillo vehicle. This MOC was designed for competition which was held in our LTR fan-group (https://vk.com/technic_club). 18 years ago, when I was 10 I had been very impressed by Armageddon movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120591/), thats why i decided to build this MOC for competition. Armadillo is a special mobile drillers designed to work in a space. I hope you watched this movie :) The hardest and most interesting part to design was drilling mechanism. The main problem was to fit all parts in 3 studs wide. I tried to discover new building techniques: half-stud structure and using part #6116604. I was really happy when I saw Madoca's modification of rm8's Toyota, because he used there the same idea. Madoca is my favourite designer. Try to feel how it was cool to know, that I discovered something 2 weeks earlier than master Madoca! Sorry for uncommon video-hosting. Unfortunately Youtube is so unfriendly to fan-art. http://rutube.ru/video/private/3d9186e007702d0490861beaf17452f3/?p=EfMiPIEpi8XV3qtgPEPlag Hope you like it, and thanks for attention. P.s. possibly working youtube link

Moscow Rally BAJA Downhill
februar88 replied to LegoDego's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you for kind words, because it was my idea to hold this race. First of all we have to improve springboards next time - make them wider. Also i want to make something like washboard. I'm very glad, that you like this concept, because your class-1 buggy was inspiration for 3 of 5 our cars. I have used your front suspension for my yellow-black "Under construction" truck. If someone needs my concept art (designed for this truck), you are welcome: -
You are wrong in a main point. Arocs new parts are underpriced. Deal with it. I guess that you know that TLG spend tons of money for moulds. In Arocs we have new racks and v2 pneumatics. Lets say, that moulds for Arocs racks and for Porshe rims costed 400 000 euro each one. But these racks they will use in different sets for ages - so they can take their money back in a future. But with Porshe rims we have absolutely different case: these rims were designed only for this set. So if you want to take your investments back you have to rise the price. For instance if you plan to sell 20 000 boxes then you will ask more than 20 Euro per box from your customers. Only for rims. And one more thing. I think, that TLG does not pay for licence more than 1$ (you can not make a contract between commercial companies for free) if we are talking about Mersedes, Volvo, Porshe. Of course they pay a lot for Marvel and WB. Because "Batman vs Superman" - is just intellectual property, but Porshe RS3 - first of all is beautiful car, and there are a lot of different other things in production total cost. Price of Porshe's appearance (intellectual property) less then let's say 1% of cost of all of the RS3 cars which was produced and will be produced. Cost of intellectual property in total cost of "Batman vs Superman" is about 100%. So, you will not pay 100 Euro for nice packaging and wonderfull book and licence for greedy Porshe AG. You will pay for beatiful Lego set. sorry for wall of text.

Well, i just want to say exactly similar thing. 42056 is not a Technic, it's more like ArchiTechnic - new Lego series. -
